Why This Norfolk Draft Class Might Just Be the Best Ever
Norfolk just committed a crime. A robbery, of every single team in the DFSL. They have just drafted some of the most active players in the league at every single pick. Everything builds off of being active, and it is hard to pin down something that matters more than it. Let us go through the first nine of their picks to show you why each is great, and just how they will make an impact on this team.
1/1- Cal Lidous, QB- Cal is everything you look for in a star QB and #1 overall pick. He is committed, active, and willing to do anything to make both his team and his teammates better. He is in it for the long haul and you certainly know what you are getting with him. Not a better person or player could have been taken at 1oa in my opinion, and he has the capacity to lead this team to greatness. When asked about if he could live up to the hype, Cal had this to say, “It is not an unfamiliar experience. I was 1OA in Major League Redditball too, and that was widely panned as a terrible pick. I went on to be the league leader in all-star game voting...and became the starting pitcher in that game. I have been successful in all my endeavors so far, and I will absolutely no doubt bring that same success to the National Simulation Football League.” He is a leader and truly one of the nicest people around and an absolute joy to play with.
3/13- Herb Altee, S- After a little bit of a slide from a projected top 10 pick to #13, Herb is a cornerstone player on any roster. A mature, natural leader who wants to always be the best at what he is doing. He would do anything to get a ring and that will not stop in the DSFL. He is always around and another wonderful person to talk to, and activity gets you very, very far in this day and age. He is committed to earning money and tpe and being the best that he can be and that is just about as much as you can ask from anyone. Norfolk brass said, “We were absolutely ecstatic that Herb fell to us at 13.”
4/20- Ryan Scott, LB- As some may know him as MasterCashier, it is another Major League Redditball influenced draft pick. When asked if drafting Major League Redditball players was part of the strategy, Scorp had this to say: “Yea, it kind of was. We realized that if we got a lot of players that already knew each other the likelihood of them staying active would be a lot higher, and so far it is working out beautifully.” Scott himself has one of the most steady floors of this class, and while maybe not as outright active as the picks above him, brings an intelligent, wise presence from day one.
5/25- Atlas Quin, CB- If there is anyone on this team that is a polar opposite to Ryan Scott, it is Atlas Quinn (Pieanator). Frankly reckless, polarizing, and a wildcard, Pie is both loved by some and hated by others where ever he goes. However, all that being said, Pie fits right in with this Norfolk team. While he can be a bit childish at times, the maturity around him more than levels that playing field. While he admits he can be polarizing, he is a sound clubhouse presence that brings a lot of like to a locker room.
6/32- Juniped Catfish, RB- An absolute steal in the sixth round, Juniped brings everything you could possibly want to the table. Active, friendly, and someone who looks to make everyone’s day just a little bit brighter, you can not go wrong with Juni. He will push for max TPE and has already produced a podcast, so the commitment is already there. Backend coding abilities and technical nuances is an added plus as well. There is nothing negative to say. A prospect does not get much more perfect than Juniped does.
7/37- Tequila Sunrise, RB- A true wildcard in terms of activity and clubhouse presence. The upside is extremely high, but on the other side of that coin is the potential for losing interest and becoming mostly inactive in the league. It is a thin line really, and Norfolk brass will be tasked with keeping him active and engaged to get the most out of him. They are certainly on the right track with that, though, by putting him in a locker room of people he is already familiar with, which will go a long way in that. Being lazy by nature might not bode well for doing TPE tasks, but guidance in that will help as well. Overall, a good pick for the team.
8/44- Jeff Personsacker, DE- Another late-round steal as Jeff is another Major League Redditball hidden gem. While relatively new to the scene as a whole, he certainly can be as active as anyone in this group. Another popular name from where most of these players came from, he will surely fit right in with the group. Always positive and encouraging, certainly the kind of person a team strives for in a locker room. There is possible downside in not being as TPE earning because of not being as familiar with the system, but all of the helpful people in the Norfolk clubhouse should hopefully fix that.
9/53- Remon Kurisito, WR- A GM, Tech, and one of the most active people in Major league Redditball, Remon is inventive, practical, and useful, much like an IKEA lamp. “He is fast and smart,” says Juniped Catfish. “Lemon is pretty cool for a wide receiver,” said Bex. Lemon had this to say on himself, “???? ???????????? ?????”
While this is just a brief glance into many of the top Major League Redditball has to offer that is come over to National Simulation Football League, it does not end here. Norfolk has built a deep core and it is reasonable to say that they could make a run right away. The activity is top of its class, and this team would do anything for each other. It will certainly be a season to watch for this squad.
