[div align=\\\"center\\\"]The Curious Case of Rose Jenkins and the Butchers
Since the Chicago team joined the NSFL in S16 they have gotten worse and worse over the years, but does it coincide with the play of their leading figure in Rose Jenkins? We can get a bunch of the background straight out of the way since it is well known that she comes from a family of athletes but if we take a closer look we see instances of possible blame. There are rumors that Rose often gets frustrated with her teammates for 'not doing their part', but these are only rumors in most cases but she does have this habit of getting upset when things do not go her way. She believes herself to be the best, cream of the crop but sometimes others do not view it the same way.
A true underdog story as two QBs were taken ahead of her in the S14 draft where she fell all the way to 14th to the Sabercats. Her time with the Coyotes is rife with headbutting and finger pointing, having a sense of entitlement. Rose seems to have had NO interest in battling for her starting job in the DSFL, forcing the Coyotes to trade the other QB that was set to start some odd 6 games or so. She did play relatively solid and steady but the team struggled, many point towards he mess in the LR and the in fighting as the reasoning for this. Jenkins fell off a cliff in her third DSFL season her play fell off a cliff and the 'Yotes had to rely on their running game. She finished the season under two thousand yards and had double the interceptions that she had touch downs. A big yikes but it seems that she decided to stop wasting her time in the minors and make the next jump.
To the Chicago Butchers, an expansion team looking to make their mark on the league and they have quite the formidable roster right out of the game through moves made by the management. Jenkins had weapons and protection, and what did she do? Really well for a rookie. The Butchers finished with a lovely 10-3 record and Jenkins was really responsible with the ball through out he season, showing a lot of poise. She worked well as an offensive tandem with Torenson and they got through Havran's Baltimore team. She gets out dueled in the Philly game, but throws 3 TDs despite the 3 picks to go along with it. A good start for this Butchers team and next season they ...
Go 8-5, a bit of a step back but it's only a 2 win different and they qualify for the post-season. Jenkins took another step forward showing growth and definitely seemed like she was on the track to greatness, throwing for 18 TDs on the season and only 8 interceptions while completing 62% of her passes but they did not throw all too much compared to other teams and it seems to be more of a running focused offense. The combo of Torenson and Danielsson hammers away at defenses, but Jenkins played responsibly and did her job as a QB. They get absolutely TROUNCED by the Hawks as the Butchers defense got butchered, conceding 40 points while only putting up 6 from field goals.Pretty solid season overall but is there some discontent in this locker room? A difference in ideologies? I don't know.
It's Jenkins third season in the NSFL but the Chicago roster seems to be getting worse, not better. Jenkins herself threw 16 picks for the league lead-- That's more than her first two seasons combined but there is consistency as she throws for 18 touchdowns 3 seasons in a row. Chicago finished 5-8, a reverse of their previous season's record and there seems to be some problems here. They have some talented receivers, 2 of them getting one thousand receiving yards but their running game has taken a hit with Torenson now in Philly. People claim that Rose have be divisive shown by her time in Kansas, but maybe this was due to a different matter? This is still enough for them to get into the playoffs, but Yellowknife is waiting and pretty much terrorized Jenkins the entire game through a shaky O-Line. The Chicago defense didn't even touch Cooter and were kept at bay, not to mention the countless more penalties the Butchers took.
It started the previous year in S18 but Chicago is relying on Jenkins to throw a lot more and she has not been doing so hot. She has been consistently cracking that 3k passing yards stat but this is arguably her worst season yet. A drop to 11 TDs and now 15 interceptions, and also taking the most sacks in the league. Danielsson had a bounce back season but maybe it wasn't enough support for Rose? The Butchers for 3-10, in the inverse of their inaugural season and have a roster core that is a bit all over the place? There's no playoffs and they don't have their first which is used as the first overall selection and Jenkins may have regressed, much like in her time with the Coyotes. She gets a bit better, then starts a steady decline. Maybe Rose just need a new environment for a kick start to her career? I am not sure if this Butchers squad is rebuilding or retooling, they are very active in the trade market so I assume they will find some pieces somewhere but maybe ...
Jenkins and Chicago should part ways in some sort of trade where Chicago fire sales whatever old useful talents they may have to collect picks and try to rebuild A fresh new face of the franchise may do them some good and Jenkins? Maybe she is right and she isn't getting enough help, or perhaps there is a self life and her time being good in a Butchers uniform has expired. If Chicago won the title in their first season would their moves or team be viewed any differently? Probably, but at this point it has not paid off. They still can, technically, bounce back and make the play offs again but I am not sure they have the pieces.
