Chip Otle, back with another draft breakdown. This time telling you why the Kansas City Coyotes won the draft, and boy is it not even close! Kansas City is the most well rounded team I have seen in many years. While Defense is totally their strength, their Offense is not far behind.
After being in the locker room for almost a week I can say this is a great group of people with a coach who is ready to take the DSFL by storm. He has set us up with the best opportunity to win and has helped us every step of the way with builds and basic questions. Football starts at the top and without the right preparation and coordination you will never succeed. Coach Howl went out and picked a group of very active dudes eager to show the NSFL why they are the best at their position. I have high hopes for this team and think the DSFL should be very scared to play Kansas City. Coach Howl put together one of the best coaching staffs in the league as well. With Brayden Ennis as the HC/DT coach the Coyotes are in excellent hands to succeed. Rradum will be calling the Offensive play and FlyeaglesFly will be calling the defensive plays. Coach Net will be tasked with training the linebacks, and Laser will have the duties of coaching the talented secondary. Last but not least is McGriddle who will help mentor Lefty Louis and Andrew Nova on special teams. I see the defensive line being a major key to the team's success, even if the head coach likes the most inferior burrito shop in America… Moes SouthWest Grill. GO CHIPOTLE!!!
Douglas Quaid - LB - Douglas out of the University of Utah State was the first pick for the Coyotes. This speed rusher will cause a lot of havoc with his blitzing ability. He gets great jumps off the ball and if offensive linemen are not quick I guarantee Douglas will lead the league in sacks. While his pass rush abilities are top notch his coverage abilities are pretty damn great too. I would not want to be a slot receiver or a Tight End trying to get away from this man. He is quick enough to keep up with most in the league and man cause he pack a punch if he connects on a tackle. Only great things to come for this guy. Watch out league, this first rounder is already NSFL ready.
Zero Two - QB - Out of the university of Georgia Zero Two has an absolute cannon of an arm. I’m not kidding, is arm is actually a cannon. Down late and need a hail mary? This is your guy, can easily throw the ball 100 yards. No window is too small for this QB either. Zero trusts his arm more than anything. He is also an extremely bright QB who rarely makes a bad read. He is able to read the defense with the best of him, Defensive Coordinators are gonna have to get extremely creative if they want to be able to hide blitz’s on this man. How this top notch QB didn’t go in the first round is beyond me. Kansas City got themselves a steal, who will easily be the best QB in the league.
Red Arrow - WR - Red Arrow is out of the university of Georgia Tech. He is an excellent route runner so Defensive backs better be careful if they press him. His first step is explosive and will leave whoever guards him in the dust. Red arrow is also a road runner, cause this man never tires. In his spare time he is running 10k’s for fun. Good luck to any defense trying to keep up all game cause Red is ready to run circles around defenses. Red looks to be the number option for Zero. Red and the rest of the WR core on this team are extremely close, they already have a handful of TD celebrations ready to showcase on the big stage.
Chris Kross - WR - Out of the University of Hawaii This 6’2 WR has some of the best hands in the entire draft. Growing up he loved watching Larry Fitz and man did he turn into him! This man can catch anything. Chris also has blazing speed which is gonna be a tough matchup for Defensive backs. Chris also has a rap group that named themselves after him. How wild is that. The Mac Dad will make you jump jump. Daddy Mac will make you jump jump. Kris Kross will make you jump jump. This will be blasting all over the speakers here in Kansas City as Chris Kross carves up defenses and scores a bunch of Touchdowns.
Jon Bois - S - Out of the University of North Carolina State. Jon Bois burst onto the scene when he attacked easily the worst secondary player in the league Atlas Quin. From there his stock has only risen, getting this man in the 5th round is a steal for the Coyotes. This player reminds me of Ed Reed back in the day, an absolute ball hawk who is ready to light up any Wide Out looking to run his way. If i am an offensive coordinator I make sure all my plays are to the opposite side of the field of this man. Jon Boi is ready to lay some big hits. While he is a big hitter he also has great hands, don’t be surprised if you see this man up near the top of the league lead in interceptions. Jon Boi is ready to take command and be the secondary captain this team needs. With the help from his other defensive backs, this will be a very tough team to pass on.
Chip Otle - DE - Chip Otle out of the university of Michigan Chip Otle was drafted in the mid rounds after injury concern out of college. Chip a Balanced pass rusher will look to use a combination of speed and moves to get by the OL. For a 6’2 235 pound lineman this boy can move, and teams shouldn’t even try to run screenplays to his side because he is very good at sniffing out the screen pass. Chip is a very active player who is always showcasing his ability on twitter. Chip has a ton of potential after a promising college career. During practice he was seen showing off his inner Nick Bosa while waving the Coyote flag after a few sacks. Chip is eager to get out on the field and show teams why drafting him in the 6th round was a huge mistake and why Kansas City got themselves a massive steal who will be a sack machine for many years to come!
Rando Cardrissian - RB - Out of the university of Virginia Tech this RB took the NCAA by storm putting up massive numbers to help secure himself a spot on a DSFL roster. Rando is a bruiser out of the backfield who looks to hit the holes hard and run over those LB and especially the DB. Rando will make the defense think twice before trying to meet him for a tackle, and when they try going low dont be shocked when he bounces over the defenders as looks for more yardage. Rando will never shy away from contact and will look to lead the league in yards after contcact. While people think Rando is all about the truck stick but watch out as he has a top notch juke and spin move. I can't wait to see the defenders be put in the spin cycle a few times a game. Promising things to come from this talented running back.
Riles McTackle - DT - Out of the University of Ohio State- Lima Campus Riles is a run stopper. This 302 pound defensive tackle is hard to run on as he is great at plugging up the holes and boy is he strong, very few running backs will be getting away from his grasp. While Riles was brought on to take care of the run game he will also be a key figure in the pass rush. Many teams will have to double team this man leaving the outside rush open for a free sack or two. I can't see many QB’s trying to run sneaks with this man in the middle. I expect to see a few sacks from Riles, and if Kansas City is the best run defense in the game you know why. If you think his run stopping ability is top notch, you should see how much this kid can eat. Coach Howl has had to take the team to buffets when they go out because Riles would eat enough for the entire team just by himself. That is one way to keep that 302 pound figure of his!
Jeremy Quellers - CB - Out of the University of Central Florida Jeremy looks to be the shutdown corner the Coyotes need. THe first CB drafted by the team he will take over the starting role. He is a great man to man cornerback who loves to press receivers. An ex wide out from his early playing days he is able to read routes better than anyone I have ever seen before. Jeremy is known to smack talk wide receivers while on the ball with them, he loves getting under the skin of the receivers so I can see him drawing a few unnecessary roughness calls on this wide receivers. Jeremy is going to be a top notch CB this year, mark my words he will have a bunch of interceptions and I bet at least one for a score!
Lefty Louis - K/P - Out of the University of Washington left Louis bring a very strong leg to the team. Many people don't consider Kickers as athlete or even football players, but lefty was a two way star in college playing on Washington's soccer team. Lefty has the strongest leg in the DSFL class and is deadly accurate, I see some 50+ yards in his future and who knows maybe even some 60’s if coach allows him to. Many kickers shy away from tackles too, but not this guy. You will see Lefty flying up the field to make a tackle, and even trying to lay a huge blow on return men. Lefty was the first kicker selected in the draft for good reasons. The ST teams will be pinning teams deep in their own side of the field all season long. A future all star in the making with his leg. Lefty is a soon to be Hall of Fame kicker and punter, and should be a top draft pick in the NSFL draft next year.
Rusty Shackleford - S - Out of the University of LSU Rusty joins Job Boi as the safeties on the team. Rusty is a another ball hawk for the Coyotes. This man loves chasing down the deep pass. Opposing QB’s will have a very hard time throwing the deep ball with Rusty and Jon Boi back. Rusty while known for his hands and ball tracking ability is also a top notch coverage guy. Rusty loves to cover the bigger wide outs as he likes the challenge. Rusty, like Jon Boi will be bringing a lot of heavy hits to the Kansas City defense.
Tree Gelbman - TE - Out of the university of Hosftra this balanced tight end is an underrated player with great hands. While he isn’t a true speedster he can still move it for his size. He is a big guy in the middle and loves to work inside the numbers. I dont see many linebackers being able to cover the man of his size. Not often do you see someone come out of a small school on Long Island but Tree was an absolute unit in college. He broke every college record at Hofstra and the DSFL was watching. Tree looks to make an instant impact on the playing field come week one.
Andrew Nova - RB - Out of the University of Akron this speed back can move it! When you think speedster you think Usian Bolt or like Deshaun Jackson… Well Andrew Nova beat them all in a race. This kid can fly out fly! No one in the league will be able to catch him if he get passed the secondary. Andrew will look to use his speed and agility to get by the defense with fancy spin moves, jukes, or hurdles. Andrew looks to compete for the starting job and make a name for himself right out of the gate. Andrew was also named the return man for the Coyotes and boy is he ready to put up some big numbers in the return game! Don’t be surprised if you see him taking returns six yards deep in the end zone. This boy loves to run and will showcase it in any way he can. Kansas City has one of the fastest dudes in the league and the DSFL should watch out!
Ty Palmatier - LB - Out of the University of Utah Ty is another speed rusher that Kansas City added to their roster. Ty will be quick off the edge and use his strength to bully RB’s trying to block him. With his quickness Ty will also be a coverage man. Kansas City loves to rush and man do they have a few people who can really bring the pressure. When Kansas City brings the pressure they will have two top notch Linebackers either coming up the middle or from the edge applying pressure. Teams better stay out of third and long cause Ty will be licking his lips waiting for that blitz package to be called. I feel like Ty will slot more into the outside linebackers than a middle linebacker, but only time will tell. NSFL Gm’s better keep Ty on their draft boards as he is gonna be a key defensive guy for years to come.
Churro Chest - CB - The second CB the Coyotes took, Churro did not attend college and was found on the streets of Kansas City locking up NSFL wide receivers who were looking to get off season work in. Kansas took a gamble drafting this player but so far in practice it seems to have paid off! He has been able to shut down the teams top receivers Red Arrow in practice and continues to get better. While he is a great pass defender Churro like every other defensive player loves when that CB blitz is called and he can showcase his big hits on the QB’s. Churro will have to polish his game a bit if he wants to be a force in the NSFL but the sky is the limit for this kid. Churro will join Jeremy as the other CB on the team and I am told there is already a bet to see who will end up with more interceptions by the end of the year.
Keval Shah - WR - Out of the University of UNC this Tar Heel will look to burn defensive backs all day. A smaller receiver only listed at 5’9 will try to get over the top and hit teams with the long ball. Keval has some serious hops though, he was once on track to be an olympic high jump and then well football came into play. Keval has been working on his speed so he can take on Andrew in a race. The Coyotes have high hopes for this youngster as they think he will develop into a key deep threat guy on the next level. Keval lead the Tar Heels in receiving yards in college and will look to give the Coyotes that deep threat they were looking for.
Shakir Ahmed - TE - Out of Flathead Valley Community College Shakir is a Balanced Tight End who will look to lead the league in receptions as a tight end. Shakir will not shy away from any defense and also love getting into the run block game. At 6’5 250 Shakir loves bullying the small defender with his big truck sticks and will even throw out a mean block or two when given the opportunity. With Shakir being so big he will be the perfect red zone TE for the Coyotes as not many defenders will be able to back him for position.
Michael Henson - TE - Out of the University of BYU another Balanced Tight End Michael will look to battle Shakir for the red zone tight end. Both are very big presence in the red zone and when the Coyotes run their three tight end sets you bet one of them will be wide open for a big game. Like Shakir Michael loves being in the run block game, getting down field and steam rolling defenders to create massive holes for his running backs. While Michael was the last one picked by the Coyotes he will still be a key force in the offense this year. Watch out for Michael on the highlight reels, as he will be bullying the small defenders all day on the field, as well as picking up some solid yards after catch!
So as you can see the Coyotes drafted one hell of a team. Well rounded on both sides of the ball as well as special teams. Defense will be the main thing for this team, as they look to be the top defense in the league. WIll the draft pick they brought in on defense I feel like Kansas City will be the best defense in the league as well as have some all pro defenders in their first year.
On the offensive side of the ball their bread and butter will be the passing game. Lead by Zero-Two this passing offense is ready to put up huge yardage game in and game out.
Can't forget about special teams. The Coyotes drafted the best Kicker/Punter in the draft and Lefty will look to kick some bombs this year while also pinning teams deep. As for the return man, dont be surprised if Andrew Nova makes a big splash in that department. Nova is a speedster where if he hits a hole on the Kick Return or Punt Return he will take it to the house.
The Coyotes have built a team that looks ready to take the DSFL by storm and is ready to become a dominating team for the next couple of years. Watch out DSFL Kansas City is looking for multiple trophies in their cabinets.
I predict the Coyotes finish the year 11-3 and in first place in the conference. They will go on to win the DSFL championship and will be a team that has a ton of top round talent in next year's NSFL draft. Along with the excellent draft class they will bring they will also have a few league leaders on their team. Zero- Two will be the passing yardage leader as well as Touchdown leader. Rando Cardrissian will be the Touchdown leaders for running backs and will be in the top 5 for rushing yards.
Watch out for Red Arrow as he will be the receptions leader. His first step will lead him open and zero two will get him the ball before the defense can blink! This combination is gonna drive coaches crazy all year.
Jon Boi will be the forced fumbles leader in the league. His heavy hits will be causing a ton of fumbles, and will make ball carriers really wonder if they should even try to take on his tackles or if they should just bounce out of bounds.
The first overall draftee for the Coyotes Douglas will lead the league in sacks. His pass rush ability is one no one can match and he will look to make a killing on his ability to track down and QB.
Jeremy will be a top 10 interception guy but also lead the Coyotes in interceptions. This man knows where the ball is going before the play is even called! QB’s will have a ton to handle if they want to throw on Jeremy
This is my take on the Coyotes draft and the year to come. As you can see the Coyotes put a lot of stock into defense and my prediction is that it will lead them to the ultimate goal, which is a championship
