San Jose, CA -- The San Jose SaberCats have permitted veteran LB Kolby Deringer to hold a press conference this week. The team wanted to open up this chance to celebrate his reaching the NSFL career 1000 tackle milestone (regular season and postseason), offer some insights looking back on an illustrious career, and ahead to what will follow after he retires at season's end.
The floor is now open for questions.
Training is the first thing. Not just putting in hard work, but smart work. Coaches are valuable to get a sense for what to focus on. Making a bit of money on the side helps with that process, too.
I would hope so. This is such a rich, dense field of defensive candidates for the Hall, in all honesty. Gotta run other numbers and awards checks against my peers to see where I sit. The Hall is pretty stingy, too, and I don't blame them.
I appreciate the compliment. That convergence of that linebacking trio would be a great case for the three of us to go in together. It is unfortunate we cannot and the committee may not see it that way.
That articulates the point a bit better. Tackles alone won't carry my bid. Look to my sacks, PDs, TFLs, Pro Bowls, the Defensive Rookie of the Year...and again, my peers on defense will have awards and numbers in spades, too.
Football is a game that loves offense. Competing for ballot space with the offensive superstars of my day adds a new layer of difficulty for my case. I can hope they have room. I have to understand why not and move on if they pass.

You're a babe Gooner, that sexy LB group with the three of us will go down as the best in NSFL history bet on it
