This is probably the easiest point task of all time! Being on such a great Myrtle Beach team gives tons of candidates to receive an award. The biggest one would probably be Siddhu Sarvepally, who had by far the best season among running backs in the DSFL. In fact, I believe that Sarvepally has a pretty good shot at actually winning league MVP after mostly carrying a struggling offense for the first half, then turning it up even more later on in the season. He currently leads in the index’s league MVP rankings, and I truly believe that he deserves it.
Now, on to my favorite part of being a Buccaneer- the defense. This defense shattered the record for least points allowed in a season by nearly 45 points, allowing just 8.5 points per game. It would be impossible to pick just one, so I’ll just have to name a bunch. Warren Stephens currently leads the index’s defensive MVP rankings, being the most impactful player on the best defense in the league. HeHateMe PickSix won’t get as much attention as they deserve for DBoTY since they played in a much worse situation before being traded to Myrtle Beach, but was another huge impact on the Buccaneers finishing the season with a 9 game winning streak (currently undefeated as a Buccaneer). Rapid Eagle leads all defensive lineman in sacks and is tied for second in the league- you know what, everyone on the Buccaneers defense deserves an award, so I’m really hoping for a chance to get everyone a ring. It won’t be easy, but I think we have a shot!
The Kansas City Coyotes had a really solid season overall. While the overall record may not be up to par, the progression made by all of the individual players was outstanding and the chemistry that was built within the team was great to see. If I could give every player on the team an award, I would. Unfortunately, awards are mostly given for on the field performance. With this in mind, there is one player who obviously deserves the award for top Wide Receiver in the DSFL. This player is Chris Kross. Kross had undoubtedly one of the best seasons of anybody in the DSFL. Kross was all over the score sheet in each and every game this season, putting up statistics that make him more than worthy of top level recognition, an abundance of awards and accolades, and a high draft pick spot. Kross also is one of the fastest guys I have ever played with. It was amazing to see him beat corner backs and safeties and each and every route he takes. He puts so much tie into his craft and it has payed off for him in a fantastic way this season. Kross should definitely be a favorite candidate to win each and every award that he is eligible for, as he had a monster season for the Coyotes, and was our team MVP for sure.
Everybody on the Copperheads defense deserves an award and a pay raise. Our defense is well improved from last season and we have contributions from all defensive groups. Our defensive line is a great group and they have been stout against the run. The linebackers are doing their part in both the run game and the pass game. The secondary is also much improved. The defense has speed and agility all around and it has led to major improvements record wise. Kuusela has been dominant on the defensive line. Bakshi has been as solid as ever with the linebackers. Lavelle is an interception machine and the anchor of the secondary.
The offense is also improved. Our quarterback play has been amazing. Easton Cole has been downright god-like in his play this year. Mako has been solid in the run game. Net and Tidwell are the core of our receivers and they have been amazing as well. It’s hard to nail down just one position that deserves all of the praise when the whole team is improved. Our journey into the playoffs is proof that everyone is deserving of a Most Improved award. Hopefully the improvement that the team has showed, the Copperheads will be bringing a title back to Austin.
