So with the conclusion of the s20 season we must look ahead into s21, and in particular the NSFL draft. The Ultimas has just concluded, and the final order for the draft is out. That order is as follows
- 1oa: Jeffrey LaVert
While OCO claims that they are still open to drafting any of the top prospects here, everyone knows that Jeffrey LaVert is the man to take. He has already broken the DSFL cap before playoffs, and will break the record of most tpe by any player coming into the draft. Not only does he have a ton of TPE, but he also talks a lot on discord, maybe even too much... He recently underwent a name change into Veggie Tales, and some reports are coming in that that may affect his stock, but I still firmly believe OCO takes him here… wait, this coming in, it is actually Prince Vegeta, my bad. Anywho, OCO desperately needs a safety after Gary Lazer-Eyes went IA at a mere 261 TPE. He will be able to join the loaded secondary of DSFL MVP Kacey Dream, 1st round pick Tyrone Biggums, HO member A.J Lattimer, and GM Korrin Abernathy. That secondary is insane! Many people may mock Nunc going here, and for good reason, as he is one of the best players in this entire class, however OCO will be getting Bobby Boucher (DE) from callups, and he has already surpassed 250 TPE, and as we can tell from awards, high TPE from the DL position is not exactly a necessity. And in this deep of a class, I could see OCO filling the other position on the DL in rounds 2 3, or 4. OCO also has send down Bobby Boucher coming up, and with DL TPE barely making a difference at DE, I think they can manage with a career player and a subpar DL for a couple of seasons.
- 2oa: Immanuel Blackstone
This may be easier than picking Jeff for 1oa, SJS has an incredibly desperate need for DE, and a max earning recreate 100% fills that need. Nunc has oppenly stated that he would be willing to go to any team in the NSFL, and SJS needs someone like that to get them out of their constant rebuilding stage. So far they have had a slew of first round busts in recent seasons, (s18 Bex - Lasted 1 season with the team)(s19 Zeddez - Went IA below 300 TPE)(s20 Unicorn - Was traded away at the trade deadline). It seems as if they just cannot keep their first round talent to stay, and with two first round picks they should be able to achieve that
.
- 3oa: Otis Allen
The Liberty are a very young team right now, and thus have pick 3oa. Considering their QBs relatively low tpe (around 500) its no surprise to anyone that they are here. But the liberty seem to have all the pieces in place. However, the liberty really need a DT, and luckily for them, this draft has some really good ones. In particular Otis Allen who has made some remarkable graphics, and has proven to the league that he can earn. The Liberty have a 150 TPE player slated to start at DT for them in s21, this pick stops that. As a Liberty alumni, I can say firsthand that they are awesome, and the Liberty D can only go up. Many people have them taking Douglas Quaid, but with sudden superstar Wayne, and safety turned LB Warren Stephens, I don’t see them taking a third LB on the team.
- 4oa: HeHateMe PickSix
SJS is in a really tough spot here, because they have extreme needs on both sides of the ball, and they don’t have a too amazing players on either side. I originally had them taking Matt Murphy, but he retired which left me in an odd spot. They already filled out their defensive end position at pick 2oa, and while they desperately need a RB to replace Tyerucker who went IA under 300 TPE, they traded for this pick by getting rid of now Arizona GM Unicorn/Desmond Scarlett, so they need a CB very very badly now. Ever since Frost swapped position (he sucks) HeHateMe has had a large lead over all the other CBs in the class, and with there being very little depth at the CB position with only 4 actives (2 of which are under 110 TPE) I think they will pick HeHateMe here.
- 5oa: Chip Otle
While this may be a reach TPE wise, it's not all a reach position wise. D’Pez Poopsie has retired, and Baltimore only has 1 DE on their entire roster, (Fabricio Baldari). Baltimore also needs a DT, or even a WR, but both of those position are very deep. In fact, this DT group is very stacked, as there are 5 different DTs in this draft over 170 TPE. To me that is just an insane number. WR’s are also very good this season, so I think Baltimore will pick maybe the best name in the draft at this spot. Something that I could also see happening is Baltimore taking a WR here, and then Scorp in the second round as a legacy pick (former GM), or maybe even picking him at this pick.
- 6oa: Chris Kross
Man oh man, the butchers. The way they got to this pick is very odd, in a trade that OCO managed to sneak a way to 1oa. Chicago has a lot of holes on this roster, but they need a tertiary WR, bad. The return of SJJ, and the quick leave (BANHAMMER) leaves Chicago with just former first rounder Sean O’Leary and GM Ahri WaytoomanyEeeeeeeeees on the roster (assuming s11 Josh Parker dies from regression). As I said before I could see Chicago going nearly any position here, but ultimately I see them picking an offensive position as they have done in the past. This offense could be very good with Ryan Leaf Jr. losing 100 pounds to play at the RB position as well as maintaining their star QB.
- 7oa: Jerome Davis
The Yeti are in a really good spot right now, they have an incredible core of people and actives, and I think they could make a huge jump in s21 with a good class, and maybe even with a bad class with all the good players they have currently. I have them picking a WR here because they have a s12 person slated to start for them in s21, and while he is very high in TPE, they do not have a third WR currently on the roster. And as a team with a QB in his prime, getting that third guy is a really good start to lead the air raid. I could also see them picking a CB here, but that is less of an immediate need, and this s22 CB class is looking very good for a team with a late first. I originally had the Yeti picking HEOB (Osiris Firestorm-Fjord) here, because with the retirement of Armor King it was an extreme need. However the free agent signing of Earl Sauce (Bagel) completely changed my mock.
- 8oa: Red Arrow
The secondline desperately need a WR, especially with Bender going away in FA to the wraiths, so they pick up the third first round WR here. Red Arrow recently wrote a giant backstory so he has enough money to afford stuff. Some may call this pick a reach, but NOLAs need at WR is too great for them to wait on. KC suddenly has a ton of prospects in the first round.
- 9oa: Sardine Beaner
The Wraiths have a very solid roster, and are filled at seemingly every position… except for DT. They currently do not have a DT on the roster, and have had DE’s playing out of position to fill those holes. Sardine Beaner is the perfect fit. He almost has 200 TPE entering the draft, and will fill an immediate hole on the DL for years to come. The Wraiths could also have gone after a TE in this situation, but with a first rounder (Blake Gragg) already invested in that position, and with the s22 class very heavy in TE, I see them picking a player who can help them win immediately.
- 10oa: Rapid Eagle
This pick may see some heads turn, as his tpe is not necessarily the highest. However Austin is a team that values locker room presence, and Rapid Eagle definitely has that. Austin also had a huuge need at DL, and they have shown previously they are not afraid to reach on a prospect who they like, but may have lower tpe, see Hal Fassingit from last years draft. They also have a regressing LB, but I think that they can still get their guy in some of the later picks to replace him. The DT class has 5 total actives (at least above 170 TPE), and I don’t think that they would last to their next pick (20), so Austin snags their man here.
Thanks for giving this article a read, and after this analysis I have realized how doodoo of a draft position I am gonna end up at.
