Looking back at the year the Coyotes and how their impact players will slot into the NSFL.
First we will look at the QB position - Zero Two
Zero Two finished the year 201 - 387 for 1929 yards which is a completion rating of 51.9%. Zero also finished with 7 touchdowns to his 8 interceptions, giving him a QB rating of 63.5%. It was not the year Zero would have liked, but the rookie learned a lot during the year, and showed signs of greatness as the year went on. While Zero improved towards the end of the year, I don’t think it was enough to catch the eyes on NSFL Gm’s. I think a second year in the DSFL with the Coyotes will work wonders for Zero Two and he will blossom into the elite QB he knows he is.
My predictions for Zero Two in season 21 is that he will finish with a 62 % completing rating, compiling just under 2,500 yards on the year with 17 TD’s and only 5 Interceptions. Which will help him become an easy draft pick for any NSFL team!
Next we move to RB - Andrew Nova and Rando Cardrissian
First we will look at Andrew Nova. The speedster had a wonderful year finishing with 1,057 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground, and 7 receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown. Andrew is just getting started, this man is built for speed where he was able to get his speed rating up to 90 overall. Andrew will look to take his top notch speed into the combine and show the NSFL GM’s that he can run against any defense. My projection for Andrew is that he will be drafted by Colorado Yetis, Philadelphia Liberty, or Baltimore Hawks. All three teams have a solid run game, so Andrew will be able to learn from some vets and work on his craft so when given his shot he won't fumble the opportunity and will take the league by storm.
Next we look at Rando Cardrissian. This power back had an eye popping year, Rando finished 4th in the DSFL in rushing with 1,176 yards, but finished first in the DSFL in touchdowns with 14. Rando was also able to pick up 9 receptions for 62 yards and no touchdowns. Rando may be one of the best running backs entering the draft, his use of speed and strength will make it hard for any defender to take him down. My draft projections for Rando is that he is picked up by one of the three bottom rushing teams in the NSFL as they need serious help real quick. Those teams are the Austin Copperheads, Arizona Outlaws, and Chicago Butchers. While many may think the Copperheads don't need anything since they will be the defending champions, it never hurts to pick up solid talent when it’s there in the draft. The only downside, I don’t think Rando falls that low in the draft for the Copperheads. So I can't wait to see if they decide to trade up for this generational talent running back. Butchers and Outlaws have a good chance to get Rando early, but will they go Running back early in this Draft, or will they look to improve their defense first is the real key.
Lets take a look at the Coyotes WR’s - Chris Kross and Red Arrow
First we will look at Chris Kross. Man is Chris Kross fast, already at 90 speed with even more room for improvement, and hands at 75 this 6’2 wide out will look to use his speed and size to get great position. Chris Kross ended the year with 43 receptions for 622 yards and 2 touchdowns. The slow start from the QB position really hurt Chris Kross in the production department, but his ability to get behind the defenders is definitely there! Chris Kross is one of the fastest Wide Receivers in the NSFL draft this year. I project Chris Kross to be a mid round draft pick this year. I feel like a team like the Orange County Otters or the Philadelphia Liberty, or even Chicago Butchers could really use a man of Krosses talent! Boy am I happy I am not a Defensive back though, cause I would not want to guard this man. Butchers have a rising QB they will likely call up from the DSFL this year so pairing him with a speedy receiver could pay big dividends in a hopeful bounce back year for the Butchers.
We will now take a look at the other Coyotes speedster and that is Red Arrow. Another 90 speed wide receiver with still room for improvement, Red Arrow will look to use that speed combined with his excellent route running ability to get free in the secondary. Red Arrow finished with 35 receptions and 421 yards in the air to go along with 1 touchdown. This 6’2 route running will find himself in the same boat as his teammate Chris Kross, a middle round draft pick, but I think teams like San Jose SaberCats New Orleans Second Line or even the Chicago Butchers will go after this rookie. Red will be a CornerBacks nightmare for years to come. Like Chris Kross the Butchers seem like a good fit with Verga most likely coming up to the NSFL roster this year.
Did someone say TE? Tree Gelbman
Gelbman had a solid season for himself, bringing in 60 receptions for 489 yards to go along 2 touchdowns. Gelbman will be a sought out tight end in this draft with the position being kinda slim. Tree and Leon Mcdavid seem to be the top two at their position this draft, so teams will have to pounce on these productive Tight Ends if they want long term production. Chicago Butchers, Orange County Otters, and Philadelphia Liberty are three teams that could make a move at this Tight End. Chicago had one of the statistical years from this position, and will need a massive boost from their next tight end if they want to make a solid bounce back in the standings. The Otters didn’t even have a Tight End bring in a reception this year so they could be looking to expand on their passing offense but going after Tree. It will be a fun draft waiting to see where Tree goes, as he can make an immediate impact for many teams in the league.
Now we take a look at the Defense of the Coyotes
At Defensive end they have Chip Otle (myself) and a late season signing of Ismael Sanchez.
First we will take a look at Chip Otle, a Balanced rusher for the Coyotes who was tied for the team lead in sacs with 7. Chip Otle was a tackle for loss monster though picking up 13 on the year. Reports around the league are that Defensive Line is a position a lot of teams are looking to stock up on, so this could be huge for the Coyotes line. Three teams I could see taking a chance on this burrito would be San Jose Sabercats, Colorado Yetis, and the Orange County Otters. These three teams were the bottom three in the whole NSFL in tackle for losses, so low that Chip Otle alone would have made up for more than half of the teams TFL’s. All three teams will need to make major improvements to their defense in season 21 and defensive linemen who can stop the running back behind the line while also picking up sacks would fit in nicely for these teams.
Next we look at Ismael Sanchez. Only played in 4 games, but was able to come away with 10 tackles, 6 for losses and 1 sack. The lack of playing time will hurt Sanchez’s chances of making a NSFL roster to start season 21, but I think a NSFL team with a more experienced line will take him in the middle to late rounds and allow him to be mentored by the vets on their team while he grows in the DSFL for another year. Philadelphia Liberty, Yellowstone Wraiths, or the Austin Copperheads to me are perfect landing spots for Sanchez. They are teams that don’t need immediate production and can afford to have someone sit in the DSFL for another year. I expect big things from Sanchez next year for the Coyotes.
Next on the defensive line we will look at the big boys in the middle. The Defensive Tackles
Riles McTackles is the big man in the middle for the Coyotes. Riles racked up 7 sacks on the year which was tied with Chip Otle for the team lead. This is just the beginning of a long productful career for Riles. Who doesn’t love a big man who can get after the Quarterback with ease! Baltimore Hawk, Chicago Butchers, and the Arizona Outlaws are three landing spots I have for Riles. All three teams need more sack production, and Riles can help with that. Riles finished 2nd in the DSFL out of the defensive tackles in sacks, so he is for sure NSFL ready and will look to plug into any defensive line and improve their numbers.
