Today we are going to break down the Season 21 NSFL Draft for the Colorado Yeti. After much debate, of which I can assume, of what happened in the War Room, they have come with what they potentially think is the best draft out of any of the teams. We will do a quick breakdown, summary, and some talking about each pick and how they plan to play into the Yeti’s futures.
With the 7th Pick of the First Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Immanuel Blackstone, Defensive End out of the Tijuana Luchadores – Drafted TPE 241 – User @nunccoepi
The Colorado Yeti bring in a much-needed presence on their Defensive Line with such a great user in @nunccoepi. He’s been around the league for quite some time, has a lot of GM Experience, sim experience, and is one of the top TPE Earners of the Season 21 Draft. He is also playing a very valuable position for teams. Defensive Linemen, Active ones at that, are rare gems, and adding such a great veteran to your team is only going to trend upwards for the Colorado Yeti. Drafting Nunc at 7th OA is a clear no brainer, and clearly the steal of the first round. Why so many teams passed on him I’ll never understand. Great pick all around for the Colorado Yeti.
With the 17th Pick of the Second Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Rotticus Scott, Cornerback out of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers – Drafted TPE 164 – User @RotticusScott
The First Myrtle Beach Alum teammate of mine drafted to Colorado. Rotticus Scott has been a fun guy to talk with in the locker room. His TPE is a bit on the low side compared to the next two players picked for the Yeti, but overall that’s not the worst thing. For some reason, in my experience the lower TPE Cornerbacks sometimes have better games and seasons then higher TPE corners. Rotticus is looking to continue to develop and has a great head on his shoulders, and the Colorado Yeti adding Scott here was a surefire way to bring some young blood to Colorado.
With the 27th Pick of the Third Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Red Arrow, Wide Receiver out of The Kansas City Coyotes – Drafted TPE 179 – User @RedArrow12c
Adding their first offensive player of this draft came in the third round, with the young receiver out of Kansas City. I haven’t had too much interactions with him, and that’s mostly due to my weird fucking work schedule, but from the few times I’ve talked with him in the Locker Room he seems like a sure-fire pick. Adding Arrow in the 3rd round to bring some young blood to the Offense is a great way to help the Quarterback Wolfie McDummy. Especially with James Bishop hitting regression pretty hard, look for Red Arrow to potentially move into that #2 Role in the next season or two.
With the 31st Pick of the Fourth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – John “Tripod” Smirh, Kicker out of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers – Drafted TPE 181 – User @Muford
With the Colorado Yeti already having a kicker in @golden_apricot, drafting another kicker here is insane. Granted, Muford is a veteran user of multiple leagues, but some would say this would be a reach on a kicker. Rumors have it, that not many teams reached out to him, nor asked if he would be willing to position switch, and since the draft, it has been noted that Smirh has gained 80 pounds and is now an interior force on the Defensive Line. So quite possibly a steal, but that all depends if he can keep his head on and stay as a max earner. He usually burns out right when regression hits, so who knows if this player will be the same as his previous two.
With the 37th pick of the Fourth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Alyx Sabor, Wide Receiver out of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers, - Drafted TPE 114 – User @SaborTheWaverunner
The Yeti have finally added another offensive weapon in this draft. Alyx, another Myrtle Beach alum, has been a little on the slow side with earning TPE, and that’s not the worst thing in the world. With the speedster tag for Wide Receiver, he doesn’t need to be the biggest earner. I can see the Yeti leaving Alyx down in the minors for a few seasons to develop more, and hopefully bring him up when Bishop retires to be the 3rd Wide Receiver. He’s a fun presence in the Locker Room when he is around, so another fun pick to have with the Yeti.
With the 54th Pick of the Sixth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Gronk Robertowski, Tight End out of the Tijuana Luchadores, - Drafted TPE 100 – User @Iamdumberdore
Three of the Yeti’s last four picks here have now been Offensive. It’s never bad to select another Tight End, especially when looking at the current roster of the Yeti, they only have one in Earl Sauce. Running two Tight End sets are very useful, especially when you want to get that run game going. Since we are getting into the later rounds here, TPE numbers are of course going to be lower. Gronk has been around the last few days in the locker room though, so that’s a wonderful sign. I don’t know too much about him, since he was a stinky Luchadore.
With the 57th Pick of the Sixth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Andrew Nova, Runningback out of Kansas City Coyotes – Drafted TPE 136 – User @schauer
Adding another Runningback into the mix for the Colorado Yeti, as well as another potential weapon for this squad. Nova is a Speed back, who can be a surprise for a lot of users. I haven’t had to much interaction with him thus far in the locker room, but hopefully he can get a good feel for the Yeti and become a contributing member. If nothing else, he already has 90 Speed, which can be very useful even in the big leagues already. I'm excited to see what Nova can do and contribute to the Colorado Yeti in the future.
With the 69th Pick of the Seventh Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Dixon Uraz Linebacker out of the Portland Pythons – Drafted TPE 50 – User @club_toasty
Finally, back to a defensive player, which at this point you would assume most players taken after are inactive. Surprisingly enough, Dixon has been active in the Yeti locker room, and even stated to me that he was a casualty of that whole situation. He has been pretty active in the locker room, and once the team assists him in getting his stuff right on the forums, with updating and the like, I think he could be such a great pick. Some People say Linebackers are a dime a dozen, but at the same time, I would rather have Dixon.
Every player after Dixon have not yet been in the Colorado Yeti Locker Room on Discord and I would deem inactive, I will list the players just to stay with the consistency of the rest of the Media Article.
With the 77th Pick of the Eighth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Horacio Espinoza, Runningback of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers– Drafted TPE 57 – User @EpicMowse
With the 87th Pick of the Ninth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Dylan Green, Offensive Lineman of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers – Drafted TPE 76 – User @DylanG5
With the 97th Pick of the Tenth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Speedo Meter, Cornerback of the Minnesota Grey Ducks – Drafted TPE 50 – User @Speedo Meter
With the 107th Pick of the Eleventh Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Rico Suave, Safety of the Minnesota Grey Ducks – Drafted TPE 50 – User @the_suave1
With the 117th Pick of the Twelfth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Rusty Shackleford, Safety of the Kansas City Coyotes – Drafted TPE 57 – User @Drunkinthunder
With the 127th Pick of the Thirteenth Round in the Season 21 Draft, The Colorado Yeti Select – Leonard Jacobs, Quarterback of the Minnesota Grey Ducks – Drafted TPE 50 – User @Crkluck
Thus, completes all the drafted players, in which, The Yeti got 7 of their 12 Players at least talking in the Locker Room. I can’t even be mad at those numbers and applaud the picks that the Yeti have made. If we break it further down, by each team, we can see which DSFL Team has contributed the most TPE to the Colorado Yeti.
Myrtle Beach – 592
Kansas City – 372
Minnesota – 100
Portland – 50
Tijuana – 341
Norfolk – 0
A quick break down between all the players show that Myrtle Beach has contributed the most TPE at the time of the draft to the Colorado Yeti, while they also had the most players drafted there with 4. Tijuana is third, with only two players, and one of which was one of the top earners of this draft class in Blackstone. Kansas City had three higher TPE total players drafted here which puts them in the #2 Spot for Total TPE, and then Minnesota had two inactives, while no Norfolk player graced Colorado this off-season. Then Portland gave us Dixon, who I wrote about earlier.
All in all, so far I believe in the Colorado Management and what they are building here. I can see myself being here for a long time, and am quite happy with the moves that they have been making, even though it was only the draft so far.
