Hi, and welcome to my guide on the Portland Python roster, and how each of the Python players are squared up for this upcoming NSFL draft. I will be going over as many of the S22 prospects as I can by the order they were drafted in the DSFL. (I will not be looking at activity on discord, because I haven't been active on discord...... Sorry ) I will also not be looking at the two expansion teams in this analysis.
R1. P3. Tyler Oles JR - CB (To12143)
In the first round the Pythons took Tyler Oles JR, a CB out of Maryland. One of the top prospects for the DSFL draft, he did not disappoint, finishing the year with 47 tackles, 13 pass deflections, and 3 interceptions for a fiercely competitive secondary that finished the year with the most interceptions in the DSFL at 15. He has been very acitve on the forums as well, and has an impressive amount of potential equipment and training for upcoming seasons. Overall, a very excellent choice for a team with a need for a #2 CB now, or are planning for a #1 CB in the future. Grade: 9.9/10
Potential teams:
The Wraiths are a very good team, just finishing short of winning the Ultimus title this year. They also had the lowest stats for Interceptions and Pass Deflections, he would be a great addition to help bump up those numbers. However, they also have two highly rated corners in Mervin Leonard and Johnny Snuggles. Would be a great 2nd/3rd rounder for the Wraiths.
The SaberCats have had a lot of bad luck with drafting early, and have the worst Corners in the NSFL (Not looking at expansion teams). If their need for a Defensive End wasn't so great, I would recommend him in the 1st round, but he would be the best for a 2nd round pick for the SaberCats.
The copperheads could be in the market for a Cornerback of the future, under the league average rating for CB overalls. Would be a great 3rd/4th round pick here.
R2. P3. Alexander Hamilton II - CB (Alexander Hamilton II)
With the first of their two picks in the second round, the Pythons selected Alexander Hamilton II, another Corner for a team desperate in need for them at the time. Another highly touted prospect, he was off to a good start, and had a very good TPE at the time. However on March 10th, he seemingly vanished without warning, and has not made any progress since the 8th of March. He finished the year with 85 tackles, 4 Interceptions, tied for second in the league, and 6 deflections. Even though his stats were impressive, I cannot really recommend drafting Alexander Hamilton II simply to his recent inactivity. Pending a return, I would recommend in the last few rounds when the talent pool has thinned out. If he returns I recommend drafting him somewhere in the middle of the draft. Grade: 4.2/10, 6.3/10 if he becomes active again.
Potential Teams:
If he returns to his activity before disappearing, he would be a great middle round draft pick.
The copperheads also have a need for depth at Corner, but with the inactivity, unless a return, I cant recommend him earlier than the last two/three rounds.
R2. P4. Zamir Kehla - CB (retrospace111)
We are starting to see a pattern here.... But he is the final Corner that the Pythons drafted. From the Unitversity of Texas at El Paso, he had a very solid year and finished as the DSFL leader in Interceptions with 5! He also added on a punt block, 10 deflections, and 37 tackles. Another very active player on the Forums, he has very good potential, has been improving constantly throughout the year, and has a lot of potential equipment and training upgrades ready. Another very solid choice for a team looking for a future starting CB, or a CB2 right now. Grade: 9.7/10
Potential Teams:
I could almost copy and paste what I said for Tyler Oles JR. they are both similar in activity and updating. The only difference is Zamir is a man to man guy, while Tyler is somebody for a zone coverage team.
R3. P3. Shawn Dawkins - FS (Number 82)
Continuing with building up a secondary of studs, the Pythons selected Shawn Dawkins out of the University of Chicago. Coming in as the 5th safety drafted in a phenomenal safety class, Dawkins has met expectations and has been active on the forums and with his training. Finishing the year with 64 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 interception, and 3 deflections, he might not have the flashy stats as the corners above him, but he was content filling in as somebody to make that extra effort to make a run 3 yards instead of 10. Unfortunately, this might be one of the best safety classes coming out of the DSFL in a while, but he would still be a great depth chart filler in the middle rounds. Grade: 8.7/10
Potential Teams:
The champions have the best team in the NSFL. (They just won the title! Cant beat that logic) However they have a major gap at SS. Although a FS, I am sure that he would be more than willing to be a team player and adjust. The secondline will be looking to draft a safety with their first round pick, but Dawkins would be a great depth chart guy, or future starter.
Tied with the Liberty for the worst record, the outlaws are another team looking for a Safety early. Even with a need for a defensive end and receiving targets, I see them taking a safety in the second round, Dawkins might be that guy.
On a well rounded yeti team, SS and LB is the first need for the yetis. I see them taking either or with their first pick, and the other with their second.
R4. P3. Daniel George - TE (dk87gaming)
My TE brother, Daniel George has been a phenomenal TE, and was the first taken in the DSFL draft. With a solid year, he had 299 yards on 30 receptions and was a force in the trenches, with 22 pancakes while giving up only one sack. While not keeping up with some other top TEs, he is still a top 3 TE and should be going in the early rounds to a team looking for depth at the position. Grade: 7.9/10
Potential Teams:
The wraiths are a well balanced team, but they will be looking for a RB with their first pick. TE is the next position that is in need of an upgrade, and so Daniel might end up being taken by them early.
The hawks had one of the best records this year, but couldn't make it deep in the playoffs. An obvious need is DT, so they will likely be aiming at the true prophet; Phat Boi. However, TE is a position that is in need of an upgrade, so they will be looking to take one early.
The champions are still in need of receiving targets, and will be looking to grab one early. Tight end is also a position they could definitely upgrade.
The outlaws could definitely use someone at TE, but it is not a top priority and will be likely looking to grab one in the middle rounds.
The otters are in desperate need of a new RB, and will be looking to grab one early. TE is another position they have a need for, and will likely grab one early.
R4. P7. Tatsu Nakamura - RB (qWest)
Trading with Myrtle Beach, the Pythons selected Tatsu Nakamura. A highly rated prospect, he delivered, being an active forum member, and being someone with a high potential for Equipment and training. Finishing with 1256 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing, he also added 23 receiving yards on 5 catches. A solid all around player with good stats and potential, Tatsu is an early round guy for sure. Grade: 9.5/10
Potential Teams:
The otters are in desperate need at RB. They will definitely be taking one early, if not first round.
The wraiths are also in a desperate need at RB, and will be taking one early.
The sabrecats are looking for depth at RB. They drafted one in the 4th round last year, but could still use a young face for some additional depth.
Another team in need of some additional depth at RB to help take the load off of their main guy.
R6. P3. Slinky Claxton - DE (Shiznit19)
After not having a 5th round pick, the Pythons took Slinky with their pick in the 6th round. A well rounded end, he was one of the top prospects of his class. While he isn't a top 3 DE, he is still very good and would be great at being a depth player, or a future star for some teams. He had an okay year, having to play behind starters. Still putting up 43 tackles and 7 for loss is not bad for a backup player. I expect him to go early/middle rounds. Grade: 7.2/10
Potential Teams:
The butchers need a DE very desperately. They will be looking at one in the 1st round more than likely.
The liberty needs some depth, and potentially a future star for DE, they might be grabbing one in the early/middle rounds.
The yeti are looking for depth at DE, look for them to take one or two in the middle of the draft.
The sabercats are looking for a DE along with almost every other position. Dont be surprised if they screw it up though.
The outlaws are going to be looking for a future star and depth here, look for one taken in the early rounds, and maybe one taken in the mid/late rounds.
R7. P3. Byron Dolls - OL (Symmetrik)
The first big boy taken for the trenches on offense, Byron has also proved himself to be the best, and the creme of the crop in a lackluster and shallow O-lineman pool. Having the highest potential and the best overall stats, he is an extremely active forum member, and will more than likely be taken very early. I know it is a boring position, but a great blindside protector makes more difference than you could imagine. Grade: 9.6/10
Potential Teams:
Every team has around the same overall for linemen other than the secondline, who have the best. Maybe they're onto something with these high overall linemen... Byron would still be a very good early round pick and should be the first O-Lineman taken off the board no questions asked.
R7. P4. Tommy Sacamano - OL (TommyThaMan)
The second big boy was taken right after the first big boy.... for the same team. They Pythons took a boring, but smart approach and grabbed two of the best linemen in the DSFL draft. Tommy brings lots of potential and talent at his position. He has also been active on the forums, and should be taken in the early/mid rounds. While a great lineman, he is barely out of the top 3 OL. Grade: 8.8/10
Potential Teams:
Tommy will be a great depth chart pickup, and could be a future star one day. It will fall onto him to prove he is the man for a team.
R8. P7 Fernando Cruz - OL (fcruz)
The first dud in a solid Pythons draft. Fernando is inactive and hasn't been on the forums for a month. Even with a return, he would be too far behind to catch up to other linemen. Grade: 1.1/10
Potential Teams:
Retired/Inactive players
R9. P3. Hank Steel - DT (DrChops)
Hank might not have done much, if anything at all this season. Only having 1 tackle/tfl. But he has some potential to him. He would be a great late round depth chart addition to DT. Grade: 5.8/10
Potential Teams:
All these teams will be looking for late round depth at DT.
The copperheads need a DT badly. While not a top pick, he would be great to add some depth, and a potential star in a few years.
The hawks are in the same boat for DT as the copperheads, in that they will be spending a top pick on one. But for some additional depth, they should be taking one in the mid/late rounds.
R10. P3. Pseudo QB - K (xxxbruhxxx)
Kickers are people too, but for a while he was a ghost, not showing any improvements or activity on the forums. It will be up to him to improve enough to get drafted. Grade: 0.6/3
Potential Teams
Pseudo will more than likely go undrafted. Will more than likely stay on the pythons.
:dsfl: The pythons may have plans to draft a new K/P this year, so who knows where he might end up.
R11. P3. Joey McCabe - OL (Benthicc_Biomancer)
Unlike another user, I made sure to include McCabe on my list. And for good reason. While a middle of the pack OL draftee, he made strides to improve, and has potential. He would be a great depth chart addition to any team, and as long as he continues to improve, I like his chances of being a starter in the NSFL one day. Grade: 8.4/10
Potential Teams:
I could go with any team here for depth. A mid/late round pick for him again, but if he uses that as his fire, who knows how he will end up.
R12. P3. Nick Marksman - TE (nick900)
Another TE brother of mine, he started his career in the DSFL with a lot of potential, but unfortunately he fell into substance abuse and lost a bit of his mental capabilities for while. However, he is now on the road to recovery. He needs some more forum activity though, that will help him improve. I see him as a late round draft pick for depth. Grade: 5.1/10
Potential Teams:
As a late round pick for TE, he might go undrafted and spend another year in the DSFL. He needs to improve his activity, otherwise he will be stuck in the DSFL and may never get out. I wish him all the best.
R12. P7. Lloyd Collins - LB (SalmonFormula)
The first LB taken by the Pythons, Lloyd performed surprisingly well this year, finishing off with 63 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 deflections, and a FF/FR. He had potential. But unfortunately, he was dealing with a devastating injury throughout the year and ended up retiring. Us python players will remember him though, and he has the heart of a warrior. I wish him nothing but good fortune on his future endeavers.
R13. P3. Julius Augustus - OL (New2this69)
Another OL for the Pythons, their 4th so far. Unfortunately, he was a massive dud and didn't show up, and didn't show any motivation to improve. Grade 0/10
Potential Teams
Retired/Inactive Players
R14. P3. Von Hayes - TE (LimJahey)
Absolutely hot garbage. -10/10 (Not gonna rate myself)
R15. P3. Cal Cutta - WR (CJPJD)
Another dud. And he has the manning face as his profile pic. Grade: 1.2/10
Potential Teams:
Retired/Inactive Players
Notable Pick not yet mentioned
R18. P3. Zed Keppler - RB (sayitundefined) 485 yards rushing, 2 tds as a backup, if he stays in the DSFL for another year and spends time improving, he could be in the S23 draft as a potentially high rated prospect. Grade: 6.2/10
I only went up to Round 15 because other than Zed Keppler, everyone else was either not active at all, or showed 0 improvement. I am going to miss most of my Python teammates, especially the filthy secondary players taken in the S21 DSFL draft. I wish nothing but the best of luck to my teammates, and look forward to what the future holds.

R1. P3. Tyler Oles JR - CB (To12143)
