Daymond Brooks WR S22 Grey Ducks
Alright y’all! Today we got a chance to chop it up with my boy Daymond Brooks! This dude is down to earth and positive as they come! My guy has been grinding all year and putting in media work to boot. His LR presence is essential in Minnesota according to my sources there. Daymond showed up at the office an hour early and we were able to really get it in. He’s a great dude and this interview really highlights all his attributes! Let’s hear what he had to say!
Daymond, thanks for coming in man! As always, it’s a good day when we get to shoot the shit.
What’s been the biggest challenge for you in your rookie season?
The learning curve was exactly as steep as the vets told me it would be, but I still found difficulty in training my player. I wasn’t finding all the necessary task points in the forum. It’s kind of a long form way of doing things, but I think I’ve got it down mostly.
What do you look forward to in S22?
I feel like we’re going to be stronger a lot of ways than we were last year. Hopefully the S21 DSFL rookies have improved a bit and keep striving to get better and are able to help the incoming class from S22.
What’s your favorite thing about the league thus far?**
The comradeship. It’s been wonderful to have these relationships to fall back on when I can’t see my friends because of the pandemic. It keeps me sane.
[b]Those were ice breakers. Here’s some hard hitting draft related stuff. What round do you see yourself being drafted?
Well, as an active newbie, I went in the 26th for the DSFL draft. After the season, I had more TPE than 9 others at my position. So if I can snag a few more before the draft, I can easily see myself going in the fourth or fifth.
What makes you marketable?
I feel like people gravitate toward me because of my personality. I’m not afraid to make friends in my own way. I’m loud and love a good time.
What have you done differently to stand out?
I’ve taken to media fairly early into my career. I’ve learned the history of the league and what it means to play in the NSFL. I love the lore. I want to write my own page in it. I’ve also been aggressive in getting most of the TPE I can since figuring out the learning curve. I also like to bite off more than I can chew in the trash talk department. (Looking at you, Norfolk.)
Being drafted in what round would be a disappointment to you, and how would you handle that situation?
It can’t get much worse than where I was picked last year at 208. I’ve worked really hard to make sure I won’t get overlooked again. Like I said before, I can see myself going in the 4th-5th rounds and being a great selection there. If I go 209, I’m going to take it personally.
There you have it y’all! What did I tell you? My guy is that dude! For real. Keep an eye out for Daymond heading into the draft and into S22 as well. He’s out to make some noise and turn some heads.
Thanks for checking in! Look forward to doing some more exclusives, so HMU.
