Welcome to part 2 of my draft report series, where I examine a single player who was just drafted into the NSFL. In this second part, we're going to look at top Coyotes receiver Eddie Jeeta.
Eddie was drafted 13th overall by Kansas City and was a day one starter. A perfect fit in the locker room, Jeeta contributed both on and off the field.
His performance over the length of the season was enough to see him become the most productive wide receiver on the team. with 59 catches for 769 yards, Eddie has a staggering 13 yards per reception. If he maintains those sort of numbers going into the NSFL, then he will become a very rich man. A truly skilled WR1 is hard to find, and commitment like Eddie's is not usually found in the 3rd round of the NSFL draft. Taken 31st overall by Austin, Eddie is unlikely to be called up right away, as Austin has some excellent wide receivers.
After spending another season in Kansas City, Jeeta should be ready to start in the NSFL. He's looking to make a bigger impact this year while still playing in the DSFL, and opponents should be wary of his tenacious ability to get behind defenses for long completions. Eddie Jeeta is extremely talented, and is going to be remembered as one of the best receivers to ever lace them up in this league. Mark my words.
Eddie is known as a fast reliable receiver in the DSFL after only a single season. His 5 touchdowns during the season is something he is proud of, but also an area that should be improved in his second outing with Kansas City. It can be tough for good wide receivers to stand out in the DSFL, as it is such a run heavy league. Eddie was the first wide receiver off the board in the DSFL, and another wouldn't be taken until round 4.
Eddie should fit in well with the Copperheads, who seem like a great bunch of guys and/or girls from my limited interactions with them. A strong team with a winning culture picking up someone as talented as Jeeta is a great move, for the team and for Eddie. I look forward to being on the field with him again next season, and wish him all the best in Austin when he is almost certainly called up next year.
I would rate this pick 10/10, as there is no downside to a talented team working on their future talent. Eddie Jeeta is a fantastic wide receiver, and will perform beyond expectations.
Thanks for reading and join me next time, when i examine number 1 pick Colt Mendoza.
