Hey guys, its ya boi, Dwyer, just here trying to make a review! My focus is mainly just on stuff that matters to me. That means the Hahalua, the Luchadores, my fantasy group, and my lovely send downs <3 If you're one of those people, great! I hope you enjoy what I have to say. If not, hey maybe you'll enjoy this too.
NSFL Preseason
So, in this, its going to be a little bit unorthodox because obviously the preseason is not very in depth. but I want to have a kind of normal layout I hope to have for the rest of my articles like this (assuming people like it). My goal is to have a small intro like this, and then jump into other stuff, as you'll see. However, with us being a new expansion team, theres not much to say. Or rather, theres way too much to say lol. So i'll just get right to it.
Strats
So, this is where i want to put the sim process so you can kind of see our process and see our work, as well as see our percentages we were testing for. Normally I wont tell our actual strats. I men, that would just be silly. But in this case i will, because its preseason, we just messed around! So, basically, we just did Vertical 70 for our whole stats. The absolute dream! and obviously, we didnt test sim, because fuck that.

So, I wont discuss this in too much detail, I really just wanna talk about the stats people got, this will be more of a thing in other weeks, as you'll see later on.
Preseason 2-2 is not bad at all! strats im sure werent even close to correct for anyone, but they certainly werent for us either, so i'll take it!
Some important things to note really, is just silly things. @gucci fielded the opening kickoff, making him the first Hahalua player to ever touch a regulation NSFL football! @Baron1898 scored the first points for the Hahalua, kicker mafia baby!
For the rest of preseason, I just wanna look at a light stats overview. QB Corvo Havran topped 1K yards in these 4 games, with a nice total of 1,081 air yards to go along with 50 rushing yards, 7 TDs and no interceptions, legendary. starting RB Ruff Ruff managed a measly 200 rushing yards in this pass heavy offense, though Ke?oke?o K?ne-Maika?i managed to get the only rushing touchdown of the preseason for us. Our leading receiver was none other than Jed Podolak, who managed 352 yards reveiving, including 2 100 yard games. However it was true rookie William Alexander who led the team with 3 touchdown catches. Our top tackler was veteran legend Alex Selich with 29 and also had the teams lone interception of the preseason, though top expansion pick Mack Arianlacher was the only player to break double digit tackles, with two 12 tackle games. Kearse led the team with 3 sacks. Of course, saving the best for last, Powers was perfect on the preseason, going 5/5 on field goals and 7/7 on XPs. The reigning punter of the year managed to pin 8 punts inside the 20 in just 4 games, an absolute legend
NSFL Week 1
Finally, the big day, our first game. Who might the matchup be with? Oh its just the regular season champs. At least its only an away game, why make it any easier? Everyone was tense in our LR, especially after Sarasota was able to upset Baltimore. So, here we go
Strats
So like I said, we dont want to just give away our strats, our goal is to just talk about the process in a quick little blurb. Bossman @Raven and lovely @siddhus helped with our week 1 strats, but in the end things just didnt look very good. our final winning percentage projection was 27.33%. All things considered this seemed like a fine percentage. OCO was a powerhouse, we were an expansion team, and we were in their house. I'll take those odds.

HON @ OCO - L 7-17
This game was a little rough, even though it was not really bad in the end. Our defense played great for 3 of the 4 quarters, and holding a team like OCO with the reigning MVP to only 17 points is a great feat. What made it rough watching was just how we were very nearly shut out. Sure you lose sometimes, but no one wants to get a goose egg in their first game of the season. Thankfully, on the last drive of the game, we fought all the way from our own 12 yard line all the way to paydirt, thanks to a 5 yard TD pass from Havran to Podolak, converting a 4th and 1 along the way
We went with a very run-heavy approach, as was clear from the stat line. Havran attempted the least amount of yards by a QB at 84, but he managed the aforementioned touchdown, and ended the night with a 69 passer rating. Nice.
Catching his passes seemed like it was clealy up to Podolak that night. He was the only receiver to pass 20 yards this game.
On the ground it was a much different story. Ruff Ruff had the most yards of anyone in the league with 116, while Ke?oke?o K?ne-Maika?i still had a very respectable 55 yards in a backup role. Overall they managed a 4.9 yards per carry average, a very good number.
On defense the story of the game was Reggie Culbertson. The DT managed an impressive 7 tackles, one of which being a sack, and also forced a fumble. surprisingly, LB turned S Sandy Bakshi led the team with 8 tackles.
Rookie Spotlight
Ke?oke?o K?ne-Maika?i - In the preseason, due to the pass heavy offense, the artist formerly known as White Goodman only managed 88 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries. he did however have a solid 203 yards receiving, once leading the team in receiving yards and twice leading the team in receptions. In week 1, K?ne-Maika?i managed 55 yards on 11 carries, and caught 3 passes, but was only able to average a yard per catch on those.
William Alexander - Alexander was a TD magnet in the preseason, grabbing a team leading 3 touchdown scores through the air. He managed 187 yards through 4 games. In week 1, the greatly lessened passing attack seemed to spare Alexander slightly, as he managed to haul in 3 catches, but he only turned those catches into 19 yards.
Momona Keiki-K?ne - In preseason, Keiki-K?ne managed 7 tackles and a sack. They weren't ideal stats, but they were what he got. The first rounder fared a little better in week 1. While he only managed one tackle, it was a stuff in the backfield for a TFL
Logan Noble Jr. - The lone callup rookie on the roster, Noble Jr. managed 11 preseason tackles, but was on a DLotY pace for his output. He managed 5 TFLs and 2 sack in those 4 short games, mind boggling numbers. In week one he managed to get 3 tackles, one of which being a sack
Fantasy Group 20
So, our group was pretty fun. And by fun, I mean not really much fun lol. 2 of our 6 players were inactive. While this is nice for the end of the season with making TPE odds much higher, it also makes the draft go on foreverrrrrr. Anyways, I wanted to look at the fantasy standings after week 1
1. @Muford - 93.8
2. @iseedoug - 78.7
3. @ADwyer87 - 75.18
4. @Daybe - 54.78
5. @Raheem James - 16.76 pts
6. @NamelessNate - 0 pts
Top QB - Wolfie McDummy - 25.8 - Muford
Bottom QB - Cooter Bigsby - 8.3 - iseedoug
Top RB - Baby Yoda - 28.7 - daybe
Bottom RB - Dax Frost - 7.3 - ADwyer87
Top WR - Sean O'Leary - 16.2 - Muford
Bottom WR - Hugh Mongo - 2.5 - Muford
Top TE - Austin McCormick - 19.6 - ADwyer87
Bottom TE - Earl Sauce - 2.7 - Muford
Top K - Dougie Smalls - 18 - iseedoug
Bottom K - Venus Powers - 1 - ADwyer87
Top DEF - New Orleans and Colorado - 2 - Muford and iseedoug
Bottom DEF - Yellowknife - -24 - daybe
Muford whipped up on the competition despite many lackluster performances, mainly due to amazing performances by Wolfie McDummy and Sam Torenson. iseedoug edges me out just barely thanks to Dougie Small's insane night. daybe on the other hand, greatly suffers for the Wraiths shortcomings
Anyways, thats all from me, I hope you enjoyed this in some way! i'll probably be back in 2 days for this, with a little more added in
