It has been a long time coming. I have been in the league since Season One with three Different players. First, it was Vincent Sharpei, Offensive Lineman turned Linebacker for the San Jose Sabercats after being picked up on the waiver wire in Season One by the Baltimore Hawks. I was informed by the Hawks a few days before the draft that they were trading back and were not going to take me at 4 Overall. During Season Two and Season Three of the NSFL, there was a lot of issues with the graphics rubric. There were people that were taking pictures and just throwing them together in paint, throwing some bullshit over it, and getting paid for it. It was a huge deal to me. I attempted to use Photoshop a few times, but I never had the want or drive to understand the program to make graphics. So, I said fuck it. If people are going to get paid for shitty graphics, why can’t I? That was when I originally opened The Paint Shoppe. It was originally opened to make fun of those folk who were making all these sigs, and getting paid for it, and it was a fun way to show how broken the system was. The Head Graphic Grader at the time, @`xdave2456`, decided to SHUT MY SHIT DOWN. I fought the power long and hard, and I was happy to see that there was change happening in the league, especially the graphics department. I ended up making 7 total Paint Sigs, and people loved them. For the longest time @Raven still had his in his graphic cycle. I never got around to making Dermot’s because there was a lot of different issues going on at the time. That is not important though. My shop was thrown to the ground and was never given a fair rubbe. When Dave stepped down from Graphic Head, @tlk742 took over and explained that, since effort was thrown into mine, that they would be a-okay to make again. I had already lost the passion for making Paint Sigs. Mind you, this was back in August of 2017. People continued to reach out to me in the following months about re-opening the shop, and I just could not bring myself to do it.
Why do I bring this up you ask? Well, I was feeling nostalgic lately, and wanted to look through my old threads. God, re-reading some of these posts in here bring back great memories. Like @Ben’s sig I made, referenced the Mayweather / McGregor fight, and it was just amazing. As some of you may know, I talk to @caltroit_red_flames damn near nightly, and we shoot the shit and play games normally. He is been a quite close friend of mine ever since he joined forces with San Jose in Season 12, and we went ahead and won San Jose’s first Ultimus in Season 14. (You’re welcome @ckroyal92, god damn, that team was so fucking stacked, if we did not win, I don’t know what I would have thought. Should have won at least two, but it is what it is.) I would go out on a limb and say that Cal is probably one of my closest friends here on the NSFL. Great Guy Cal. Anyways, while playing with Cal tonight, I had an epiphany and asked him what he thought about my old graphics. He laughed it off and said they would probably get a 1/7 on the new graphic scale. I thought eh, what the fuck? Those took a lot of time and effort. I probably spend more time on Paint Graphics then I did on writing Media, or damn near anything else. But man, oh man, there were a meme but they were a great meme. I wouldn’t doubt that a lot of people would still like them to this day.
So without further ado, I will present to you this one truth. The Paint Shoppe is now re-opened for business for a limited time. I thought it would be a fun little thing to do, and why the hell not just re-open it for the time being for a fun time? The Link to the Paint Shoppe will be at the bottom of this media, for you guys to check out, maybe request, who knows. Have a good laugh.
