[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Hello, and Welcome to Sapp’s Season 23 NSFL Mock Draft Version 1.0! The only full 8 round Mock Draft so far. The Royals CB follows his partner in crime in the draft. After being passed up by the sailfish at the end of round two, he finds his home in the windy city of Chicago, home to the last place butchers. The reason why the butchers are last place is primarily because of their defense. When you allow over 350 yards per game and let teams score practically 30 points on you every game, you are bound to lose a couple more than you win. In comes Lesean who will pair with last year’s rookies MacAndrew and Sidekick to help stop teams from thrashing the Butcher’s defense for points on practically every drive.

With the middle of the Yeti’s defense being up in the air in the next couple of seasons, the Yeti take a chance on Eric Richards here in the third round. The Line backer out of the university of Kentucky has shown a lot of skills this season, forcing the most amount of fumbles in the DSFL, Racking up tackles at a top ten player level, and showing his versatility by grabbing both a sack and interception on the season. A line backer that can do it all is a hard commodity to come by, but scouts are saying he will need another season in the DSFL before he is ready to hit the pros. Because of the Yeti’s current predicament, this should not be an issue for them at all.

Safeties are flying off the board right now and the Hahalua finally take their man, the guy with two first names, Bob Bob. Tied for third in Interceptions through 10 games so far, Bob has shown up and done his thing with the Royals, pushing them towards a potential playoffs spot. Bob naturally likes to play in a deep zone to reduce the amount of deep passes quarterbacks through, but he also has the ability to sneak around a non-suspecting tackle and wrap up the QB for a big play.

The big man himself, Julio Jones falls to the Outlaws here at pick number 27. The Outlaws love their linemen, and this guy is just another piece of the puzzle for a team that is currently second in sacks allowed. Tied first in pancakes in the DSFL with a retired player, this man should make an immediate impact that defenses are not ready for. The one thing that General Managers need to watch out for is making this man not enjoy the game. He has stated many times that Playing football over working on the farm was practically a coin toss. If he gets a sniff of that dairy air again, the outlaws may lose out on keeping a beast for the long term.

After being drafted #60 in the DSFL draft, Howlett has seen his draft stock shoot up. The New Zealander was able to fly under the radar and land himself in Tijuana due to his connections with Ben Tu’inukuafe, former Luchador. Howlett is an elite athlete, with track star type speed. Any team could use another wide receiver, and Howlett does not carry some of the baggage that some other prospects at his position may have.

Kingston is what many would consider to be a freak athlete. Not very many 6’6”, 220 pound players move like he does, let alone play wide receiver. Scouts would like to see a little more from his DSFL production, but there’s no denying his potential. When you’re six inches taller than the cornerback you’re matched up with, that’s a pretty ridiculous advantage to start off with.

Luchadores linebacker Griffin Porter has lived up to the mighty expectations of being a DSFL first round pick. He’s steadily improved throughout the year, as more and more scouts come to Tijuana to watch him play. One unnamed NSFL scout compared him to Alex Selich, NSFL legend and likely future hall of famer. The third running back off the board is Danny king, who has put up a respectable stat line in the DSFL this season. One knock against his play style is that he is a volume back and doesn’t get the stats desired without being the main ball carrier. In the NSFL, there are many successful backs, but most of them are by committee and are able to get their efficiency up on minimal carries. He will need to work hard to get to that point, but seeing as he has been mildly successful so far in his career, look for him to put in the work necessary to find a starting spot in the NSFL.

The sixth wide receiver off the board is Dre Matthews out of the University of Florida. Him and Hood teamed up with the Gators to win the National Championship their senior year before entering the DSFL draft. Matthews failed to stand out too much on the Seawolves this season with only 320 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games. Normally this would have a player drafted late, but he has shown incredible leadership skills on the field with both the Gators and the Seawolves. General Managers take note of this, he can make an impact for your team regardless of what stats he puts in the books.

The first of the Wraiths third round selections is Safety Raphael d’Alcott from the Dallas Bird Dogs and THE Ohio State. No interceptions on the season so far, but teams are excited to see the size and speed of this prospect. With the odd number choice of 97, many players saw him coming in the league as a Linebacker, but Raphael has shown the scouts wrong as he has been able to drop into coverage and disrupt passes on a consistent basis. One knock against his game is his speed, which will not translate well to the NSFL without doing some serious training, and scouts have considered that as they place him on their draft boards.

Two picks after taking Dre Matthew, the Outlaws address the other side of the ball with the drafting of cornerback from the Bird Dogs and the small school of Delaware College of Art and Design. The former tight end had to cut weight, but has made a seamless transition to the defensive side of the ball. Going in the third round of the DSFL draft is no small feat, and to be able to switch positions completely, re-learn techniques, and still be rated as a third round pick going into the NSFL is quite the accomplishment in itself. If he can continue to learn the position and teams believe in him, he could go down as one of the better, if not best athletes in the draft.

He is quite fast for his size, but will need to hit the weight room if he intends to battle in the trench through the long seasons with the NSFL offensive linemen. Datsum has only missed a single extra point and a single field goal this season, something only one other player can say. If you need a guy who is automatic from within 45 yards, this is the kicker you want. Dick Thruster is the second lineman off the board and is selected by the Baltimore Hawks. The Hawks have the number one ranked rushing attack in the league this season, and are hoping that Thruster can help continue that trend as well as help protect against pass rushers. The Hahalua take Jason Young with their fourth round selection and fills a need in their secondary. Jason is a pure man to man corner that had a great couple of seasons for the San Diego State Aztecs. In his lone season with the Kansas City Coyotes, he recorded a single interception to go along with nine pass deflections through ten games. With only one missed tackle to his name, Jason has been a consistent force at the back end of a defense and could see his versatility play into his draft stock. Right now Blade is dominating the DSFL being top 5 in tackles and 2nd in forced fumbles. He hasn’t done much in terms of getting to the back field or dropping back into the secondary, but running backs are scared to run the gap that he is guarding due to his ability to punch the ball out at will. This is one of my favorite mid round selections in the draft, and he could definitely see his name called sooner if General Mangers feel he has proven himself with such little DSFL production, but in two less games, he has practically matched the production of two higher rated receivers in Videl-san and Jackson Kingston. He is a versatile player, and has made it known that his coaches see him as a multi-tool player despite only getting snaps at receiver this season. Mike going here in the middle of the fourth round is not a reflection of his talents. With four defensive ends rated higher than him, it was difficult finding a spot for him earlier, but for whatever team snags him at this spot is lucky. The Butchers need a lot of help on defense, and I would think that they would welcome an additional 5 sacks and 12 tackles for a loss any season. If he can repeat this performance at the next level year after year, he may hear his name getting called to the hall, but he has to have the determination to get there. One thing that may be a knock on him and why he fell far back is that he may lack the strength to play in the NSFL. With the much larger and stronger NSFL offensive linemen, Mike will need to get creative to break through and get his numbers.

He’s got one of the highest floors in this draft, a pick no one would be upset about making.

With the last pick in the third round, the Wraiths opt to select Braxton Sinclair out of Louisiana State University and the Norfolk SeaWolves. With 3 sacks on the season so far, Braxton has done his part to disrupt offenses, and will hope to do the same for the wraiths this upcoming season. He is quite fast for his size, but will need to hit the weight room if he intends to battle in the trench through the long seasons with the NSFL offensive linemen. He will have to show that he can size up with the best of them, but it is totally in the realm of possibility for this prospect.

Datsum has only missed a single extra point and a single field goal this season, something only one other player can say. If you need a guy who is automatic from within 45 yards, this is the kicker you want. He will have to work on his range though as he has only attempted up to a 44 yard kick so far in his short DSFL career, but is plenty worth the hype being picked as the first selection in the fourth round.

Dick Thruster is the second lineman off the board and is selected by the Baltimore Hawks. The Hawks have the number one ranked rushing attack in the league this season, and are hoping that Thruster can help continue that trend as well as help protect against pass rushers. Dick plays naturally at the Center position, but would maybe suit a change to the tackle position as a more important role in protecting Fujiwara’s blindside.

A good combine or pro day could vault him to a mid to late 3rd round selection, but his production will hold him back from vaulting higher than that.

Blade McCoy comes out of the University of Texas looking to disrupt offense as much as possible. With his size – six foot five, 255 pounds – not much is going to stop him. The outlaws will have quite the enforcer draft Blade here in the fourth round of the draft.

Part two of the Pythons running back duo, McZeal is one of the fastest players in the DSFL, and has shown his tremendous running ability, averaging 5 yards per carry and on pace for 9 touchdowns and 1,000 yards. Despite the almost evenness between McZeal and Petrongolo, General Mangers are unsure about how his game translates to the NSFL and are concerned the workload will be too much for Kenyel. He is here to prove the doubters wrong, but with so many running backs in this draft as well as the ones already drafted, a team would be happy to still see him on the board at this point and will scoop him up quickly.

Philip is the second kicker to go in the draft, just five picks behind Datsum Phastbawl. Although his field goal kicking can be shaky at times, Philip has been lights out this season kicking one pointers for the best offense in the league. He is also one of the premier punters in the league, finishing top three in average punt length, but just like his kicking duties, will need to work on his accuracy to pin offenses back inside their own twenty.

If a team is in a crunch and they just need to take the best athlete, They may want call Benoits number because he is willing to play just about any position to help his team reach the Ultimus.

With an offense as poor as the Kansas City Coyotes, its understandable that Deonte has only caught 19 passes so far through 10 games, but it is not helping his case to be bumped up in the draft rankings. General managers can assume that Deonte will pick up the playbook quickly when he gets there in the offseason because he played his college career at Northwestern, but Deonte will still need to work on his cuts as they have looked sloppy in Kansas City.

The first Tight End off the board goes to the Otters here at the 47th pick, and they take a rangy, big prospect in Rigby Raccoon. He shows up more in the running game than he does in the passing game, as he has racked up quite a few pancakes compared to his reception numbers. One aspect that has forced him to slide this far is his lack of hands and speed. He has yet to break away for a big gain or a touchdown, and he currently has a 20% drop rate on passes. He is a sure tackler, not missing a tackle yet this season, but has been anxious to jump routes and has yet to come up with an interception. He does have four pass deflections, but the Alabama product from Nova Scotia has not found his footing as a true corner. Team may try to slot him into the safety position as it is more of a natural fit for him, but with 15 safety prospects this draft, it may be hard for Brennan to increase is draft stock any further without having a tremendous game in the final couple games of the season.
