[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Season 23 NSFL Mock Draft [/div][div align=\\\"center\\\"]By @Tylus, @BenDover, and @DarknessRising[/div]
Hello and welcome to my(Tylus), BenDover, and DarknessRising’s first official mock draft! Myself and Bendover started by making a team needs media piece for each conference. We ended up using that as a tool to make this mock draft, and invited one of our favorite Grey Ducks, DarknessRising(aka Kai Sakura) to help us make this mock. He’s made some really talented media in the past, and we figured having his expertise would only help make this article better. We did the draft as a team and took four teams each to write summaries of each pick for. I(Tylus) will be writing for Honolulu, Austin, Baltimore, and New Orleans. BenDover will be explaining the picks for San Jose, Sarasota, Yellowknife, and Orange County. Darkness will be finishing the list by taking care of the picks for Arizona, Colorado, Philadelphia, and Chicago. There are a few inaccuracies in this mock, namely Baltimore general manager Huskies position switching his player CJ Riley from defensive end to safety. As most of this mock was completed before that position switch was made known to us, we would have had to remake the entire mock draft. With the end of 1.5x media week approaching quickly, we were unable to do so, but I’ve made sure to edit it to make it less of a glaring inaccuracy. Thanks for checking this out, and let us know if you would do a pick differently. There are a lot of picks made in this mock where we just couldn’t find the value to position for some needs of teams, and had to pick the best player available. If you see your team taking a position of lower need, but the player is higher TPE, that is probably what took place in that pick. We are fairly new players to the league, so if we missed anyone or anything important feel free to let one of us know.
DISCLAIMER: This mock is most likely wildly inaccurate, but we figured we’d take a stab at it anyway. Make sure to let us know why our picks were bad, I’m always trying to learn more and make better content, so don’t mind at all!

Without further ado, our season twenty three mock!
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Round 1, pick 1[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Colorado Yeti Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Heinrich Kackpoo - LB - Portland - 255 TPE[/div]
The Yeti enter this draft with probably the least need of players out of all teams, yet still get the powerful choice of any prospect through a trade made in a previous season with Chicago. Whilst debated if the Yeti’s may in fact trade this pick away, they can definitely use it to fill one of their only needs in Linebacker, taking Kackpoo 1OA. With the 4th highest TPE in the class, only 11 behind the leader, the Yeti take the number one Linebacker filling their number one need. As their LB’s are both currently into regression, Kackpoo will be able to come as their future star of the position and make a seamless transition from their current players to himself, suring up one of the weaker positions on a strong team.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Round 1, pick 2[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Baltimore Hawks Select [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Greedy Sly - S - London - 266 TPE[/div]
The Hawks are heading into season 23 with one of the least talented safety rooms in the league. Lucky for them, Colorado taking Kackpoo at first overall leaves the consensus best safety in the draft sitting at their feet. This is an obvious pick for Baltimore, who’s safety room consists of two season 15 guys who are going to be heading into deeper regression quickly. Being able to get Greedy Sly allows Baltimore to have a future star sitting behind these two vets, who will possibly play one more season. With safety locked up, the Hawks can look to other positions of need, such as on the defensive and offensive line at their next picks. This was written before I was made aware of CJ Rileys position switch from defensive end to safety, with that in mind, I’ll be picking for them as if he was still a defensive end. Again, sorry to Baltimore peoples, I had no idea or inkling that he was going to do so.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Round 1, pick 3[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Honolulu Hahalua Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Ray-Ray Jackson - CB - Minnesota - 228 TPE[/div]
The Hahalua drafted two cornerbacks in season twenty-two to help shore up a cornerback room that was old and inactive. Although rookie cornerback Bayden Brosley is consistently earning, the other CB draftee, Ozamataz Buckshank, has gone inactive since being drafted. With that considered, and one of the highest rated corners available on the board, I figure this pick is a no-brainer. Jackson, being a standout player for my team, the Grey Ducks, is sure to be a star addition for Honolulu into the foreseeable future.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Round 1, pick 4[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Arizona Outlaws Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]L’Carpetron Dookmarriot - S - Myrtle Beach - 228 TPE[/div]
Arizona have such a young team and a plethora of picks, yet it does not take long for them to be able to pick up their biggest need. As it stands, Arizona only have one safety on the roster as well as no Safeties that have been sent down into the DSFL. In walks L’Carpetron Dookmarriot. A max earnin safety that hits the field like a badass, Dookmarriot will just be yet another young guy with a bright future in a team brimmed with potential. Having a 2nd Safety just helps to really finalise their secondary and more options for a position when there is limited need, is always a good route to go down.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 1, pick 5 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Philadelphia Liberty Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Tyler Montain - DT - Dallas - 257 TPE[/div]
Philadelphia are excited to be able to fill out their greatest team need with an exceptional talent who has already surpassed the DSFL cap. The Liberty only have one active DT on the roster who only gained 15 TPE this season and mediocre IA’s, Montain will shoot up straight into the main roster and hopefully be the DT that they Liberty desperately need to maintain their reputation for having a stifling defence Montain is the highest DT in the class and shows no signs of stopping his tremendous TPE earning ways.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 1, pick 6 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] San Jose Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Bob Bob - S - London - 206 TPE[/div]
San Jose has a need at safety, and also shares a familiarity with the user, being Nickyvmlp, who was on San Jose with his previous player, making this pick both a need filler, along with a person who they know will stay active. Although this is not the highest TPE safety, with only 202 TPE, this will be a great addition to fill out the secondary that San Jose used many draft picks on last season, and set them up for playoff contention when Monty Jack is ready to compete at an NSFL level.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 1, pick 7 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Sarasota Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Son Goku - DE - Kansas City - 262 TPE[/div]
With the 7th pick, the Sailfish take the best defensive end off the board, being Son Goku. With both Franchet and Baldari retiring, There is a glaring hole on the edge of the line, making Goku if he is still available the only choice that makes sense for the Sailfish at this point. Goku is a top 2 earner at this point, so it will be a steal even in the 1st round at this point.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 1, pick 8 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Sarasota Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Carl Wheezer - DT - Kansas City - 203 TPE[/div]
The Sailfish then used their second straight 1st rounder on Carl Wheezer, a defensive tackle with 203 TPE. While this might seem like a drop in TPE from most of the other picks in the round, defensive tackle is a big need for the Sailfish, and with DT not having very much depth, the Sailfish must make their move here.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 1, pick 9 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Colorado Yeti Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Tyrone Woods - LB - Myrtle Beach - 223 TPE[/div]
After having the 1OA pick in the draft, the Yeti get another pick of the top prospects. With team needs primarily being LB and OL, the Yeti go back to the well once more, most likely knowing OL will be still available later in the draft, taking the number 2 LB in the draft. This really bolsters and secures the future of the position with two high earning prospecs to soon tak over from their regressing LB in a few seasons time.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 1, pick 10 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Honolulu Hahalua Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Hingle McCringleberry - LB - Dallas - 228 TPE[/div]
The Hahalua fielded a very talented, but old linebacker core this season. With Veterans Storm, Bakshi, and Selich entering deep regression or retiring, our thought process was that they could get both a great replacement, as well as a very high and consistent earner in McCringleberry. Although Honolulu has two young linebackers in the wings in Jack Banks and Mach Arianlacher, the value here is too good to pass up.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 1, pick 11 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Orange County Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Tycker Om - DE - Tijuana - 229 TPE[/div]
The Otters have two inactive Defensive Ends on their roster, so taking the second best DE by TPE at the end of the first round is a godsend for them. With 229 TPE, Om will be an instant starter for the Otters next season, and will become a staple of that line for many seasons to come.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 1, pick 12 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Yellowknife Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Mikel Van Perkins - CB - London - 218 TPE[/div]
The Wraiths only have two Cornerbacks on the Roster, one who is deep in regression, and one who is 2 seasons away, so this is an immediate need for this position. The Wraiths fix this problem by taking the second best corner off the board, in Van Perkins who will be the start of the new youth that will be taking over in Yellowknife soon.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 1 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Chicago Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Luca Scabbia - WR - Dallas - 225 TPE[/div]
It is no secret that Chicago is in a big rebuild that will seem them having a few seasons of low draft picks. Without having their first round pick, Chicago looks for the best player available that can fill their needs, and that is Luca Sacabbia, well not technically. Luca is the third best player TPE wise left on the board, behind fellow rookie receivers Tylus by 1 and Kai Sakura by 14 respectively. With very small amount, Chicago go with a vetern user enigmatic and his recreate, to ascertain more security that they will have a consistently high earner that will stay throughout the rebuild. Being along side stand out receiver Sean O’Leary, Luca will be a great WR2 moving forward with s21 QB George O’Donnel to help shape the passing game of the butchers through the rebuild, though he may need to fight for that spot with a later pick in this draft.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 2 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Baltimore Hawks Select [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]CJ Riley - DE(now safety) - Portland - 211 TPE[/div]
Baltimore takes one of their GMs with this pick, as is required. As we did our mock together yesterday, before CJ Riley switched to safety apparently, and having them take Sly, I’ll be referring to Riley as a defensive end for the purposes of this mock. I do understand that he IS a safety, but as we will have to rewrite our entire draft to have Baltimore make the correct pick in the first round due to believing they had a defensive end pick in Riley. Sorry Baltimore fans, I didn’t know! Huskies is a great user, and I’m sure is an amazing GM, so he should be a standout defensive back for the young team going forward. If I had to redo the first round with Riley in mind as a safety, I would have them take Son Goku.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 3 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Austin Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Braxton Sinclair - DT - Norfolk - 185 TPE[/div]
With Austin’s first pick in this draft, they shore up the defensive line with a solid earner in Braxton Sinclair. The Copperheads currently only have inactives at defensive tackle, and with the lack of depth at the position in this draft, they bite the bullet and get the best one left on the board in Sinclair. Sinclair, a new user to the site, but a personal friend of mine, is a great guy to have around, and brings a unique dynamic as a user to his team. I think, while not the flashiest pick, this guy will be a solid contributor for the team.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 4 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Arizona Outlaws Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Griffin Porter - LB - Tijuana - 210 TPE[/div]
With Arizona’s second round pick (and second of many, many picks in this draft) they snap up Griffin Porter, the last of the 200 plus TPE LB in this draft. User, AsylumParty, has almost been on the site for two years and is a vetern. Even without really knowing him, I recognise the name and that is only to the advantage of the Outlaws. A consistent earner, rounding out one of their bigger needs, a known name on the forums, This pick makes total sense for Arizona to go for.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 5 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Philadelphia Liberty Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Julio Jones - OL - Minnesota - 192 TPE[/div]
FAIR RUBS!!! The mammoth Julio Jones himself shows everyone just what a good man in the OL position can do and earns himself a mid 2nd round pick to the Liberty, being tied 1st for TPE in that position, and marks the 2nd offensive player taken in this draft. His performance in the DSFL gives him the nod over fellow OL Dick Thruster. Having only 1 OL on the roster, Simon Tremblay who has spent some time upgrading himself down in the DSFL, Julio could potential move straight up and join with Tremblay to form a young O-line pairing with a bright future ahead of them that promises to protect their QB, Brock Phoenix, as he gets into his prime years for the team and making space for RB Sam Torenson who is the highest TPE running back in the game. Expect the Liberty offensive threats to be even more deadly with a good OL upgrade in this draft.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 6 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] San Jose Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Water Chestnut III - DE - Minnesota - 196 TPE[/div]
This is another GM pick, being ckroyal’s player, who also fills a big need for the Sabercats, with them only having inactive S21 Chip Otle, so this is a very good pick for the Sabercats even if they are forced to make this pick. After having a defensive draft last time around, the Sabercats reinforce their defense for years to come.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 7 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Arizona Outlaws Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Reginal Covington III - QB - Kansas City - 206 TPE[/div]
This is by far, the most interesting prospect to have to mock in this draft. PDXBaller is an insane earner and a recreate and knows a thing or two about sim leagues, running his own MMA league called the Championship Fighting Universe (CFU, and it is good fun in a totally biased opinion). The problem is, as the only real QB prospect in the class, no team is in desperate need for one this season. Talks and rumours also say that the s24 class will have numerous QB which also fits more team’s schedule for peaking so unfortunately, RC3 doesn’t have a good home to slot easily into. However, Arizona swoop in and pick him so when the championship push occurs during either the last season or start of regression for Jay Cue, RC3 is there to take over in a few seasons to ensure that Arizona does not lose any chance in their prime championship winning window.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 8 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] New Orleans Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Adélie de Pengu - S(now linebacker) - Norfolk - 215 TPE[/div]
With the eighth pick in the second round, and their first pick in this draft, New Orleans is forced happily to take their GM, and new safety, Adélie de Pengu. Pengu’s user, Issastarcrossed, is considered to be a great member of the league, as well as a great GM, taking the Second Line deep into the season and playoffs most years, not to mention winning the Ultimus last season. While New Orleans might not have the biggest need at safety, Pengu should still be a solid member of what is becoming a lights out secondary for the Louisiana team.
Edit: As of finishing up this article I noticed Pengu is now a linebacker. This draft is still going to be done with them in mind as a safety as the change wasn’t announced and we only noticed it in the tracker after finishing most of the mock.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 9 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Baltimore Hawks Select [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Dick Thruster - OL - Myrtle Beach - 192 TPE[/div]
Baltimore adds to their young, but growing offensive line. Having young veteran Byron Dolls to help teach Thruster the ways of blocking should be a great pipeline to success. Considering the Hawks potent run game, I believe they will go for offensive line a bit earlier than most, especially considering their lack of deep holes at this point. Dick Thruster is a very good offensive lineman, and I have him as my number two overall in this entire class. If not for Julio Jones' dominant performance this season for Minnesota, Thruster would almost always be considered a number one prospect in most other drafts.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 10 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Honolulu Hahalua Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Bane Kaʻanāʻanā - DT - Tijuana - 236 TPE[/div]
One of the two resident GMs for Honolulu, Dwyer is considered, by myself especially, to be one of the best members on the site. While Honolulu has a very young and solid core of defensive tackles, Dwyer has mentioned possibly position switching. With that in mind I’ll still be drafting for Honolulu as if Dwyer is sticking to DE, as there isn’t any real certainty of what he will do once he’s finally on his home team. No matter what position, Bane should be a solid contributor, not to mention one of my favorite GMs in the league.
Edit: He changed to CB...oh well
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 11 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Orange County Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Eric Richards - LB - London - 190 TPE[/div]
Another spot on the otters where there is little youth, they make sure their Linebacking core is ready for the future, drafting the best LB available in Eric Richards. Richards is a new user who has taken the to the league, and is a player who will do wonders in the future for the Otters, as the other two LBs continue to regress, as Richards and Jones will take over.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 2, pick 12 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Sarasota Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Tychondrius Hood - WR - Minnesota - 226 TPE[/div]
The second WR off the board, who has the second most TPE for WRs in this class. The Sailfish makes this pick to be the eventual replacement of Dexter Banks II, and starting the development of a WR now will be helpful in the long run for the Sailfish. This will help the offense of the Sailfish be solidified for the future, with having young players ready to make the next step in many positions.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 1 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Chicago Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Kai Sakura - WR - Minnesota - 239 TPE[/div]
Chicago have more needs than most of the teams, but they also look towards the best player available yet again, and leads to double dipping in the WR pool and taking Kai Sakura. The Sakura, the 5th highest TPE prospect, highest offensive and WR prospect, adds another high level earner to the team. By taking another wide out, Chicago will firmly give themselves a passing offence they can rely on and leave be whilst they rebuild other elements of their team over the next couple of seasons. When it is all set and done, Chicago will have a passing offense all in their prime that, on paper, could be one of the best in the league at that time. The addition of Kai, who has happily sat behind two other receivers at the Grey Ducks,as a team-focused person just like Luca, who is willing to see out their career, helps the rebuild of the Butchers see a bright future ahead of them when the rebuild is complete.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 2 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Colorado Yeti Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]DB Jadakiss - S - Norfolk - 230 TPE[/div]
In what is probably going to be one of the most controversial picks in this draft, the Yeti’s pick up DB Jadakiss, the 6th highest TPE earner in the class, 2nd for safeties, who falls all the way down to pick 26 and into the laps of a team who just can’t pass up that type of value. They have two safeties earning steadily, but a third, especially with this type of calibre, we think will be more valuable to them than an OL. Plus, at this point in the draft, we all knew Jadakiss had to be taken soon before a riot against us happens, and the Yeti happily oblige with saving us.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 3 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Honolulu Hahalua Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Nicholas Ayers - RB - Myrtle Beach - 215 TPE[/div]
While Keʻokeʻo Kāne-Maikaʻi is a high earning young running back for this team, and should take over as the primary ball carrier this season, Ruff Ruff is inactive and getting older. Nick Ayers is one of, if not the best rookie running back in this class. The reason he’s getting taken so late is only due to lack of need at running back when compared to defense. Ayers is definitely in the running for offensive rookie of the year, and Honolulu is getting a solid, if not amazing value with Ayers in the early third round. Drafting Ayers gives the Hahalua a high earning and complete running back room for the indefinite future.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 4 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Arizona Outlaws Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Mike Karpaasi - DE - Norfolk - 165 TPE[/div]
And here we are again with Arizona, their 4th pick in the draft so far and the first of three picks in the third round. At this point, Arizona has no blaring needs and just looks to pick up some extra depth in a typically lacking position. Mike Karpassi is a little off the top three DE’s but has not missed an update all season. With some more time, Karpassi can keep up his consistent earning and be a good depth player in a position that lacks actives, giving Arizona some flexibility and assurance in the position which is rare.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 5 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Philadelphia Liberty Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Videl-San - WR - Portland - 215 TPE[/div]
A user that is much more widely known than his player, the Liberty picks up a sim league vet in Valor with Videl-San, who will be looking to the future as Nacho Varga’s age starts to catch up with him. For all things that have happened in the past are just that, in the past, and Videl-San makes a great choice for the Liberty to keep down a season or two in the DSFL whilst Vage see’s the twilight years of his career. Valor is a consistent high earner, has extensive league knowledge and skills, look no further than Ryan Leaf Jr. and the season he had in the NSFL. A team first player, making a good combination between himself and the Liberty that leads to this pick happening, making all parties involved look towards the future that could be.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 6 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Yellowknife Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Joe Exotic - DT - Minnesota - 121 TPE[/div]
The Wraiths only have one DT on the roster, and he is already in regression, so the Wraiths use this pick to target one of the only semi active DTs left, in Joe Exotic. Exotic can start to be the DT that the Wraiths will need with a little bit of assistance from the GMs of the team telling him to earn. If he can pick up his earning pace, he can be a quality addition to the team if he wants to put in the work.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 7 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Sarasota Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Raphael d’Alcott - S - Dallas - 215 TPE[/div]
In a class of deep safety depth, the Sailfish select Raphael d’Alcott, who despite being only the 5th best earning safety, he has 215 TPE, which is more than most taken in the 3rd round. This will help the Sailfish immensely, with Ragnar Rok retiring, the Sailfish pick up a 3rd Safety to help fill the CB void that they have on the team.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 8 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] New Orleans Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Jackson Kingston - WR - Tijuana - 206 TPE[/div]
With a lot of needs met, the Second Line decide to go for one of the best players still available in Jackson Kingston. Getting a 200+ TPE player in any position this late in the draft is a steal, and while not at the top of his class at wide receiver, Kingston looks to be a great earner and active user. Second Line get a great pick here late in the third round.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 9 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Austin Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Lesean Paris Crooks - CB - London - 195 TPE[/div]
In my mind, defensive end and cornerback are the two most glaring needs for the Texas team. After shoring up the interior of their defensive line, Austin looks to do the same for their aging secondary. Having only a single active cornerback, who is entering deep regression, this is a solid pickup for the Copperheads. Paris Crooks is, while not the highest TPE cornerback in the draft, still a very solid earner, and has the making to become a premier cornerback in the next few seasons if he can keep up his production.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 10 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Arizona Outlaws Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Datsum Phastbawls - K/P - London - 216 TPE[/div]
The second pick of the three, although they are back to back picks, we have Arizona selecting the leading K/P in the class, Datsum Phastballs. Datsum has been a consistent high earner and whilst the Outlaws have a kicker in Jay-Jaymison, their updates have been a little lacking, only updating in this last week across the entire season. With not really needing much else, Outlaws can look to see if Datsum will overtake Jaymison after a season down in the DSFL, or start him as there is only around a 50 TPE difference between the two. If not, it will push Jaymison to be more active. Either way, Outlaws will eventually get an upgraded kicker when the time comes with the rest of their blooming roster to push for the Ultimus.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 11 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Arizona Outlaws Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Dre Matthews - WR - Norfolk - 205 TPE[/div]
As for the second pick, the Outlaws go back to an offensive player in wide out Dre Matthews, who gets listed as the second pick simply by TPE value, just to have some sort of fair way to do it, plus it shows some K/P love. Dre Matthews is in a weird spot of being a superb earner, coming in at over 200 TPE. However, he is 7th in TPE by WR and therefore slips a little due to the abundance of receivers in this class that are ahead of him. Anyways, Matthews is a solid, high earning prospect that most likely we want to be positioned switch by the Outlaws who just see best player available.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 3, pick 12 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Yellowknife Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Blade McCoy - LB - Dallas - 164 TPE[/div]
With LBs flying off the board, the Wraiths take this opportunity to fill out their LB core, by picking up McCoy. This pick allows the Wraiths to have 3 active LBs, and have a suitable player to replace Virtanen when he eventually hits regression. This is a pick that was made due to the lack of LB depth, along with the opportunity for value top have 3 active LBs on a team.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 1 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Austin Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Philip Stein - K/P - Minnesota - 196 TPE[/div]
With veteran kicker and punter Alfredo Crisco entering the twilight of his career, Austin needs to line up his replacement sooner or later. With the best kicker in the draft, an insanely active and high-drive user Phiip is looking to make his mark on the league. Tying the DSFL record longest field goal with a massive 57 yarder, he’s already making waves this past season, and was a game ball winner for the Grey Ducks more than once. Considering his possible switch to linebacker as well, Austin is getting amazing value in the fourth round with this pick in my opinion.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 2 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Baltimore Hawks Select [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Eugene Smoothie - S - Myrtle Beach - 218 TPE[/div]
Another pick that is somewhat screwed up by the position switch of CJ Riley. We took Smoothie here, as the value for an earner as active as himself this late in the draft in of itself is amazing. Could be one of the best picks of the draft. Not to mention having two solid to high earners in a position that is definitely in need of a rebuild for the Hawks. If I had known about Rileys position switch before we made this mock, I would definitely have Baltimore taking a different player, such as linebacker Omar Wright Jr, or perhaps a young receiver in Doug Howlette.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 3 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Honolulu Hahalua Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Rigby Raccoon - TE - Kansas City - 138 TPE[/div]
This was a hard pick to make for the Hahalua. With a lot of the higher earning players in positions of need gone, Honolulu takes a stab, grabbing the best tight end available in the class. Honolulu has a basically dead tight end room right now, and while at a modest 138 TPE as of writing this article, Raccoon is active and earning at this point. If Rigby Raccoon can keep active and producing, he should make a fine addition to the Hahalua, in a position of dire need.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 4 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Arizona Outlaws Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Tomage McGullager - CB - Dallas - 159 TPE[/div]
Yet again, Arizona arose and didn't really need anything a few picks ago, so the problem just compounds further. Most likey, the Outlaws are going to be either trading down and back into future drafts or using their capital to move up to get the specific players they want and need, utilising all their capital for leverage. But since there is no trading, the Outlaws in this mock take Tomage McGullager, an almost 150 TPE CB that is 4th in his class. Outlaws are just looking for the best player available that might become a trade asset in the future and so a decent earner in McGullager is where they go.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 5 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Philadelphia Liberty Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Jason Young - CB - Kansas City - 145 TPE[/div]
With their 4th round pick, Liberty look to shore up their young and promising CB core from season 22 picks with some added depth in Jason Young. They pull the trigger on this move, even if Young didn’t update last week, due to the drop that comes after this point in the CB position. With Brandon Booker and Stuart Little IV looking as though they won’t be slowing their earning potential, Young would be on the roster as an insurance policy, a decent earner that just helps secure the position almost the next 10 seasons and
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 6 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] San Jose Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Doug Howlett - WR - Tijuana - 213 TPE[/div]
With this pick, the Sabercats address their WR hole, with only one receiver on the roster if Action Jackson leaves, the WR class this time around is very deep, with 213 TPE and being the 5th best reciever in the class this is a great pick for the Sabercats at this time. This shows the depth at most offensive positions in this draft, as someone with 200+ TPE is able to slip into the cracks of a WR hungry team.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 7 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Chicago Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Joseph Petrongolo - RB - Portland - 214 TPE[/div]
Chicago double down, triple down even, on the offensive side of the ball and take another RB to create a formidable 1-2 punch with s22 draftee Julio Tirtawidjaja to really round out an entire offense in just two seasons of picks. Whilst it may not be optimal going full offense, Chicago are still going to find it tough in the next few seasons, giving them the opportunity to get key defensive players and really target their needs in the next drafts, without the pressure of having to potentially sacrifice on the offensive side of the ball in order to do so. Joseph is the 2nd RB in the draft but with not much need in the position, and the preference heavily on the defensive positions which have less depth than that or RB, he slides down into the mid 4th round which gives him great value to Chicago. With this pick made, the Chicago Butchers are already looking well on their way to completing a rebuild with solid, active earners.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 8 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] New Orleans Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Omar Wright Jr - LB - Portland - 145 TPE[/div]
While not the highest TPE linebacker in this draft class, they are completely active, and doing what they can do raise their TPE to respectable levels. New Orleans gets an active starter late in the fourth round at a position filled with regression and inactivity. While New Orleans does have a couple of good linebackers in Bode and Ugarth, and season twenty-two rookie Sackson waiting in the wings, the Second Line decide to think about the future, and get a guy who should probably have been taken a lot earlier, considering his active status and recent gains in TPE.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 9 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Colorado Yeti Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Dick Thunder - OL - Minnesota - 84 TPE[/div]
With their third pick in the first four rounds, the Yeti’s pick up Dick Thunder to bridge their OL need, due to the fact they have currently no OL on their main roster and only a low TPE IA in their sendowns. Dick Thunder may have been IA and thus has low TPE coming into the draft, but they have resurfaced with a vengeance, setting up for a podcast and showing great potential to be an active earner and presence on the forums. With little needs and already two LB’s taken this draft, this might be the perfect timing for the Yeti to embrace the Fair Rubs movement and pick up an OL player to certainly watch for the future.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 10 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Chicago Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Brennan Kennedy - CB - Myrtle Beach - 110 TPE[/div]
After three picks of offensive players, Chicago still needs to look towards adding some defensive pieces into their team to work off of, so in comes Brennan Kennedy. Whilst being inconsistent when it comes to updates, if Chicago get a good scouting process with Kennedy and believe in his ability to come back and be active, he can combine with DSFL send down Tyron Shields in becoming the next wave of Cornerbacks for the Butchers with star Osiris Firestorm-Fjord from S21 living up to his first round pick. This pick could bring Chicago with a complete CB core and tick off another position of the needs chart from this draft.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 11 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Orange County Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Mac Griddle - S - Portland - 112 TPE[/div]
The Otters round out their all-defense mock with choosing Mac Griddle, as the Otters already have 2 great safeties, but they could start the developmental process of another until biggums hits regression. This would round out the defense of the OTters, as they prepare to rebuild their offense in the coming years, as Armstrong starts to be heavily hit from regression.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Round 4, pick 12 [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Yellowknife Select: [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Byron Blackwell - CB - Dallas - 84 TPE[/div]
This is another mostly value pick for the Wraiths, as Blackwell doesn’t have that much TPE, but if the Wraiths can set him on the right track, then this will be a steal no one was expecting, giving the Wraiths another possible cushion to fall on when both of their starting corners are hit by regression.
