After two successful seasons in Myrtle Beach including an Ultimini win, the first-ever Sarasota draft pick, Cuco Clemente, is being called to the NSFL. Sarasota has organized some media availability for their starting defensive tackle at his alma mater, the University of Florida where he was mentoring some of their new recruits. He takes the podium dressed in a suit, ready for questions.

This is something that I promised myself I would not get in to today, but I guess is time to address the rumors and put this to bed. My mom is a part of the NSFL boner report team, for them to get good data she has to do some questionable things. Its for a good cause tho and I respect her dedication to her work.

Coming to Sarasota last season, I thought there would be some lean years ago and some struggles as we build up to a contending team. They completely blew those expectations out of the water last year by making the playoffs. Going into this year we're wanting to build on that success, have the first winning season in franchise history and make the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
For my personal hopes, I just want to be a productive member of this defense. I think I have all the opportunity in the world to be a house hold name at Defensive Tackle. I need to build the foundation for that this season.

Man, so disappointed. Record be damned, I know we were one of the best teams in the DSFL last season. We had some rough luck and untimely turnovers that really cost us. It's one of those seasons that will I'll look back on my whole career and wonder what if.

I can't believe it wasn't a rule already. Its a good change and for the betterment of the league. It's important to make sure everyone is recognized and this is a step in the right direction. I'm glad that we'll be judged on the position we actually play too. Awards are a huge part to this league, it's encouraging that there has been so much focus there recently. I know the rules summit was a win for the pure TE too.

I know I'm leaving a big void in the middle of that DL. So I expect them to pick up a few guys there. Secondary is always a big need. Looking at their roster, the offense is loaded, except for the OL. I would rank the needs DL, Secondary, and OL.

The trade downs last season, really put them in a great position. Being able to have back to back picks in the 1st round is setting yourself up for success. We were able to snag Son Goku, with the first pick. I played with him for a short time in Myrtle Beach when he was a waiver pickup. He really is a good dude. A great guy to have in the locker room and a guy that's going to get called up and success right out of the gate. Same with Mike Karpaasi, between Goku, Karpaasi and Me the DL is going to be one of the best in a few seasons. I also excited about Mike Van Perkins and Running Back. Two guys I did not think would be available to us in the 3rd round.

I know Goku a little from his time in Myrtle Beach as a waiver pickup. We didn't get to play together all that much tho. I've had a little bit of time getting to know Karpaasi a little bit in the locker. It will take some time to gel, but luckily we have some preseason games to get everyone one the same page.

Of course! I think we in for a winning season and hopefully 1st playoff win as well.

I placed last season, I think I have a secret weapon being Myrtle Beach's locker room. There's so many good guys that give advice in there. I am just glad none of them are in my group.

I won't because Mori sucks lamp

With the inclusion of DT of the year and now having DT as a listed position, I think we have made a lot of progress. I want to shake the notion that being a DT is a place for the lazy. We earn as well as anyone else and you can see, most of the successful teams in the league have a stud DT in the middle of their line. I am happy to champion the position, cause I am going to be around for a while. Otis Allen said it best, the S21 and S22 DTs are going to change the way people look at the position. Special shout to Tyler Mountain going 2 overall. There's a lot of great talented people playing DT that deserve to be recognized for their hard work.
(06-09-2020, 03:32 AM)Memento Mori Wrote:As someone who spends most of their time on the field matched up against offensive linemen, what are your thoughts on the fair rub movement?
It's huge. The more OL in the league, the more valuable higher end defensive linemen will be. On the field we go to war against them, but off the field they have my full support. We are all trying to make playing in the trenches sexy again.

Brushing and flossing twice a day will do most the work for you. Gum is good after a meal. But its all about the basics.

Depends what your life is like. I am a converted morning person from a night owl. The biggest thing is just make sure your getting enough sleep and make sure its quality. With as much as we train, you have to give your body time to recover.
(06-09-2020, 06:16 AM)tMuse Wrote:Tell us exactly how and why frost bullied you, we all know he does it.
Frost is a bad bulli. I didn't want to go to Sarasota, but he forced me. He also cheats at UNO, but you didn't hear that from me.
Clemente cuts off the next questions and says, " I am sorry but I have to get back to my work here, so I will need to cut this a little short. I want to thank the University of Florida for hosting me as well as the Sarasota Sailfish for setting this up. I am honored to represent this team in the community and on the field. We have some big challenges ahead of us, but we have been putting the work in and I think the fans are going to have plenty to cheer about. Thank your for your time and God bless."
Clemente leaves the podium and is ushered back toward the locker room sporting a huge smile.
