Where is everyone going to be drafted tonight?
We will find out very soon, but before the draft airs I want to attempt to predict how the first round shakes out by determining team needs and examining the prospects on the board.
1. Kansas City Coyotes
(Needs: RB, LB, CB, DL)
THE PICK IS IN: ALEJANDRO CHAINBREAKER, LB - @Sermokala
The Kansas City Coyotes are desperate for many positions in this draft, but none more than the LB spot. And why not pick an active, max earning recreate in Sermo? This user has proven that he is dedicated to his player, who is undoubtedly going to make an instant impact on this team's success. This pick is a no-brainer in my opinion.
2. Portland Pythons
(Needs: QB, DE, DT, CB, S, LB)
THE PICK IS IN: DOROTHY ZBORNAK, DE - @Slothman07
Fresh off of a rebrand, the Pythons need just about everything under the sun except for their offensive skill positions. Since this is a very deep QB class, the Pythons will wait to pick their offensive leader and instead go for a monster on the defensive line in Zbornak. Slothman may be new, but rumor has it that he helped create logos for the rebranding Pythons out of the goodness of his heart, which undoubtedly had to shoot him up the Python's draft board.
3. Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
(Needs: DE, DT, TE, CB)
THE PICK IS IN: ASHER MONTAIN, DE - @Attopax
Myrtle Beach has some holes to fill, especially on the D-line. Because of this, the go with the best available defensive end in Montain. This guy is going to be a beast, and Attopax is a new user that has been highly active since joining the league. This should be an easy pick for MB as he would be a huge factor in the Buccaneers defense this coming season.
4. Dallas Birddogs
(Needs: QB, RB, DE)
THE PICK IS IN: SERGIO KITCHENS, RB - @WannabeFinn
Dallas is less needy overall than the other teams in the draft, however they do have a few spots open that need some work. QB is an obvious need, however again since there are so many great options available and not enough QB needy teams to take them early, the Birddogs again skip out on a QB and instead take another great offensive option in the draft in Kitchens. WannabeFinn is a recreate that has proven his activity and gotten a head-start on a few of the other RB's in the draft.
5. Norfolk Seawolves
(Needs: DE, CB, DT)
THE PICK IS IN: ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, DE - @MisObvious
Another pick, another defensive end off the board. Norfolk goes for the Obvious pick here (pun intended) as MisObvious is an active member of multiple sim league and recently became an HO intern, proving that they will be around for quite some time. I have no doubt Heights would make an impact for the Seawolves.
6. Minnesota Grey Ducks
(Needs: S, DE, LB)
THE PICK IS IN: QUENTIN BUTTON, S - @pppaul317
Minnesota is looking for defensive help in the secondary, and what better way to fill that need than by taking the best available safety off the board. Paul has shown activity by writing media and continually updating his player, and I believe he will do a fantastic job in the DSFL next season. Plus, as a Hawkeye fan, I have a bit of a soft spot for him since his player attended Iowa.
7. London Royals
(Needs: LB, DE, TE)
THE PICK IS IN: JUAN DOMINE, LB - @`Maglubiyet`
The Royals need a leader in the middle of their defense, and I believe they will find that in Domine. Another new user to the NSFL, Maglu has been pumping out media and gaining TPE at a constant rate that would make any GM happy to pick him. Domine would be a great addition to the London D.
8. Tijuana Luchadores
(Needs: RB, CB, TE, DE, DT, S)
THE PICK IS IN: CAPTAIN ROGERS, RB - @TeyonSchavari
Tijuana needs a TON of help in the coming season, fresh off of their Ultimini victory. This pick could go many ways, but I admittedly could not resist picking myself in the first round. Teyon is an active member of the community as a former HO member, current RM, and is a safe pick as a recreate. He also talks in the third person sometimes which is a bit weird but his friends deal with it. Rogers will be a workhorse in the backfield if he goes to Tijuana.
That will do it for this short 1 round mock draft. I may be way off on some things, but we'll see! Please leave a comment if you have other ideas for how this draft will go! No leaks
