Norfolk Seawolves Hall of Fame Inductees
The 22nd Season in the Developmental Simulation Football League brought another playoff appearance to the Norfolk Seawolves. While the team didn’t make the Ultimini, going 8-6 was an accomplishment the team could be proud of. Instrumental to their success this season and excellent contributors to the locker room, three new players have earned a spot in the Norfolk Hall of Fame as they move on to their new homes in the NSFL.
Thubba Bumper - @Bauer - S21 Rd. 1 Pck. 6; 6OA
Thubba Bumper was Norfolk’s first pick in the S21 DSFL Draft. In his 2 years in Norfolk, the young cornerback recorded 94 tackles, 4 interceptions, 2 pick sixes, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 24 passes defensed. He also returned kicks and punts, most notably scoring an impressive 99 yard kick return touchdown in his first season. Bumper played an important part in Norfolk’s success these past 2 seasons, especially against Myrtle Beach, and we are happy to induct him into our Hall of Fame. Best of luck in Colorado Bumper.
Jack Banks - @TheRocheLimit - S21 Rd. 9 Pck. 6; 70OA
Falling all the way to pick 70, Jack Banks has been an incredible player in Norfolk. While he started off relatively slow as a rookie, his most significant stat being a single interception, in his second year Banks absolutely dominated. Going from 0 to 9 sacks and from forcing 0 to 3 fumbles. He also had 10 Passes defensed in his second year compared to the 2 previously. To top it all off, Banks had a little over 3 times as many tackles as last season, with 9 tackles for loss. If there was a breakout player of the year award for the DSFL, Banks would have won it with no contest. This season he seriously showed up every game and was a difference maker for the team. With that, we’re excited to induct him into the Norfolk Hall of Fame. Have fun in Honolulu and good luck!
DB Jadakiss - @hotdog - S22 Rd. 2 Pck. 6; 14OA
Next up is DB Jadakiss. Jadakiss was a stud in the secondary getting 2 interceptions, one of which being a pick six, and 3 passes defended. Not only that but he forced and recovered 2 fumbles. Jadakiss frequently changed the momentum of games and played an important role in our defense. On top of this, he was a great locker room presence during the games and was voted as the defensive Commodore at the end of the season. Being picked 4OA by Arizona, we hate to see him leave so soon but are glad to be able to induct him into the Norfolk Hall of Fame.
Mike Karpaasi - @puolivalmiste - Waiver Pick-up
The Defensive Rookie of the Year, Mike Karpaasi, was an important factor in a lot of Norfolk’s games this year. He put up amazing stats for a rookie and was great at getting in the backfield disrupting plays. With 7 sacks and 15 tackles for a loss, Karpaasi frequently caused opposing offenses to stall. As a waiver pick-up at the beginning of the season, Karpaasi crushed expectations and made the rest of the DSFL regret not grabbing him. Again, while it hurts to lose such a great player, we’re excited to see what he can do in Sarasota. Best of Luck Karpaasi! And Congrats again on DRoTY! With such an incredible season you really deserve your spot in the Norfolk Hall of Fame.
Congratulations to the new Hall of Fame Inductees! Thank you for your dedication to the league and we wish you well moving forward.
