Hey guys! Things have popped up in my life over the last season and I simply do not have the time or energy to put into league that I should be putting in for this role. For that reason, I'll be stepping out and leaving the door open for someone new.
Rookie Mentors are one of the most important jobs in this league as they are often the first people most players interact with when they join. They're essential for player retention and they focus on coordinating with DSFL HO to improve the rookie experience. We're hoping to find someone full of positive energy and some ideas to take over and move the role forward!
Expectations: This is an ever evolving role. New tasks are given on a regular basis and it isn't predictable at all. You and your team are expected to constantly be looking to work with DSFL HO on new ideas and new projects for rookies, so the job is often in a state of flux. I will list most of the basics though!
1. Hiring for and paying your team.
2. Keeping an eye on new creates and trying to make sure they're approved in a timely manner.
3. Maintaining rookie chat with HO to ensure it remains a welcoming and helpful haven for our newer players.
4. Maintaining the waiver system and making sure waivers are done in a timely manner to get new players on teams as quickly as possible.
5. Working with DSFL HO to set up and complete the prospect bowl.
6. Maintaining and updating the rookie guide.
7. Maintaining and updating the rookie mentor handbook.
8. Coordinating between the RM team and DSFL HO to apply any new changes necessary to the rookie environment.
