What’s up everyone before the draft today I just wanted to close out the defensive rankings by doing the defensive line. Originally, I was going to combine the two positions, but I realized that defensive ends have more padded stats when comparing them to defensive tackles. So, I decided to break it into two separate rankings but will combine them into the same post.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Scoring Breakdown
Tackles: 1 Point
Tackles for Loss: 5 Points
Plays Defended: 5 Points
Forced Fumble: 5 Points
Blocked P/XP/FG: 5 Points Each
Sacks: 8 Points.
Fumble Recovered: 10 Points
Interception: 10 Points
Safety: 15 Points
Touchdown: 20 Points[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Rankings (DT)![/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"][/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Rankings (DE)![/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"][/div]
Based on the data above we can see that the defensive end position statistically had a higher score. This does make some since at least when comparing this to NFL/NCAA statistics. Great defensive tackles soak up double teams allowing their linebackers the opportunity to make plays on the ball. Even though defensive tackles don’t put up as flashy numbers doesn’t mean they should be overlooked, having to soak up core blocks and still being able to make a play on the ball requires a lot of power and skill from that player and great standouts are top tier defensive players.
I plan on ranking the offensive positions, but it will probably be after the draft. My plan is to also do all the offense in one large article instead of releasing multiple ones. If you all have any input on scoring for each position feel free to let me know seeing as how each offensive position drastically changes from one to the next, for the most part.
