The first thing I noticed at my first NSFL minicamp was the heat. The San Jose sun beat down on us like the OutLaws beat down on the Yeti last year in the championship. That being said, training camp was tough, but necessary, especially for us rookies that have a new scheme to learn. I was able to get some reps running behind our shiny new O-Line, and I have to say, these guys are huge . Sharpei, Sharp, and Yates look formidable and were opening some holes for us backs. Enchilada Charlton set the edge well and had a couple tackles on me. AJ Hackett was really tough to outrun, and he had some hits on me that I'm a little embarrassed by. Bailey Cook made plays like usual and the offense was moving the chains well. The combination of Goose, Durden, and I should prove to be a pretty damn good one, and there's some competition going between us. The QB situation is strange to say the least. Ethan Hunt is a talented player, but I'm not sure if his heart is in this franchise, and that's a shame. Christian Adams showed some flashes of being a franchise player, and I was impressed. The QB situation should be interesting at least. To conclude my thoughts, NSFL training camp is a grind, but one that I've dreamed of and I couldn't be happier to be apart of the San Jose SabreCats.

The whole locker room has been buzzing on what occured during their last practice.
During the 7 v 7 drills, Chris Orosz threw a perfect pass over the middle to Ricky Maddox where only he can grab it. After catching the ball and beginning the process of turning up field, he didn't see Marcus Kane coming until it's too late. Kane ran full force into the 6'6 255lb frame with all of the tenacity he could muster, effectively bringing down the much bigger target with what can be dubbed as a "Hit Stick" caliber strike. Although the pass was still completed, he made his presence felt with a vengeance. This play in particular created a domino effect as it sparked the whole team to levels that most NSFL teams can only dreams of. "Yeah, Kane ain't messing around. Haha I already told him and the rest of the defense to come at me like I was literally a part of the opposing team, proud to see that they're making big strides." -Ricky Maddox After the hit, Maddox got up on his own power but he clutched onto his right shoulder as he heads to the sidelines. It was later revealed that he suffered a dislocated shoulder due to the hit. Luckily enough for Maddox, the medical team popped it back in and he was back within the next hour of practice to finish out the day. "The injury is whatever. The shoulder is back in place and it's a little sore but I'll live. Kane is gonna be a force in this league, if I didn't get it from when I seen the highlight tapes, I got the experience full hand. He's legit as f*ck. I'll pray for the wide receivers, running backs and tight ends that enter his wheelhouse." 291 Words @Dangles13
Day one in Baltimore and the team is separated into position groups. That means the newly minted 5 Rookie O-Lineman are all together and working out. Koch, Lee, Pancake, Charles and Barksdale are all learning from the O-Line coach and getting ready for our first season. The two a day was very productive and players were impressed with the way the Line was getting along. Lee, given his high level draft position has emerged as a leader and is showing the other guys some tips he learned in college.
When bringing in 5 players at the same time who all played the same position in college, it is obviously going to breed some competition, but coaches were surprised at the immediate friendship and bonding between the new teammates. However there was some competition with the new rookies when the lineman noticed the skill position rookies Farlane, Masvidal, and Turner running a 40 yard dash race. Not to be outdone the O-Line all got down and started a pushup contest to see who could do the most. Again the winner of that competition is going be secretive, but one thing is clear, the Hawks Rookies look ready to become one of the best Offensive lines in the league. (207)

Colorado's first week of rookie OTA's was exciting both for second year players returning and for the rookies. Someone I want to focus on is rookie wideout Jon Ross. Looking a little sluggish coming into Colorado, he has used the elevation to intensify his workout regimen and he is now looking much sharper and faster coming in and out of his breaks.
One route he has been working on is the slant with teammates Kendrick Hendrix and DJ Law, two very quick wide outs who spent S1 in a fast-paced west-coast style scheme with a lot of quick dump offs and screen passes. They both know a thing or two about creating space near the line of scrimmage and finding enough separation to gain positive yards. Jon Ross is one of the most promising young wideouts in the NSFL and fits perfectly in this WR room. Whether lining up on the outside, or the slot... he is interchangeable as are the other wideouts, which gives the Yeti a lot of versatility in the passing game heading into S2. With Hendrix and Law periodically struggling to get a grip and suffering excruciating drops in their rookie seasons, a sure-handed possession receiver who can also take the top off a defense will be a great ingredient. My favorite thing about this kid is his intelligence right now, though. His football IQ is very high for a rookie, something he can use to teach Hendrix and Law a thing or two. Quote:270 words

The upstanding citizen that he is, Leroy Jenkins decided that he’d help out a rookie with his integration into the league and the team. His choice was one of the most promising young linemen, Gregor Clegane. One of the more controversial players in the league, Jenkins thought he would be the perfect pupil when it came to his teaching. So Leroy invited Clegane to a concert before the first practice. Leroy, who had become friends with the artist throughout joint charity work in the Chicago area, took Gregor to a Chance the Rapper concert. The night allegedly didn’t go to well.
At first, Gregor resisted, reportedly saying that he was not a fan of the music, therefore he would not go. But at Leroy’s insistence, he went and had gotten so extremely drunk that he started a mosh pit during a slow jam. Let’s just say, it wasn’t a pretty sight and they were lucky that the cops did not get involved. The next day at practice, things were a bit awkward. Leroy doesn’t drink, so he was fine, just a bit tired. Clegane on the other hand was utterly hung over and practice was stopped multiple times as he ran for the sidelines to throw up. Moral of the story, Leroy has decided to not invite teammates to things like that ever again. @automatic [OPTION]S32: CAR: 0 \ RUS: 0 \ RUT: 0 \ CAT: 35 \ REC: 582 \ RET: 3

Quote:"There is no such thing as a person who can call themselves truly not lonely. There are only those who choose to hide it."
The players of the Las Vegas Legion had all formally met each other once before, but now they could all show their real skill. All rookies were required to report to the training center first. Running backs Kyle Cobb and Ardie Savea each sought each other out and began talking. The 2 had a bit of a friendly rivalry going during the prospect games, but now they were teammates and we're quickly hitting it off. Soon, the GM's of the team showed up and started getting the field ready, while all the rookies did some laps. Immediately after everything was set, the rookies were called to the 50 yard line. In the distance they all heard a chant coming from the tunnel. It was Josh Bercovici coming out of the locker room with the rest of the veterans, and all of them were shouting "All Dick, No Lube!" When everyone had looked over from center field, Berc threw a bomb pass from the end zone into the group of rookies 50 yards away. Typical Newenglander ended up catching it. With that, everyone in the facility was ready to finally become a real team. Spirits were particularly high as Berc could finally show his true colors. He wasn't a rookie, but he was new to being named a true starter. Everyone was having a great time as a group. Scrimmages were starting all over the field, and the Legion were running on all cylinders. The preseason was only weeks away, and Las Vegas already had molded into a winning machine.

Your first day of practice with a new team is a lot like any other first time experience. You're a little excited but there are definitely nerves too. After all, you are expected to learn a lot in a very short period of time. You have to learn how each and every one of your team mates play, how the coach wants you to play, how the coach wants the team to play.....it really can be quite the learning curve for some players. It can also be quite stressful depending on the team dynamic. Luckily for me, the Yeti have been nothing short of amazing in helping me and the other rookies integrate into the lineup and learn their style of play. The vets are always looking out for the small "rookie mistakes" and making sure we correct them to better play the system. They've been helping us with our physical training too; showing us some new exercises and drills that should help us play against the men of the NSFL. This isn't high school anymore and the opposing team is going to be a lot bigger and a lot tougher. For as hard as they work, they also know how to have a good time. Having a great team like this makes coming to practice feel a lot less like a job and a lot more like a hobby and I couldn't ask for anything else.
