So, I'm not normally one for writing but I've seen something that needs commenting on. A very fascinating occurrence.
I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but at this point in the season we have a winless team. The Philadelphia Liberty are sitting down the bottom of the competition at a woeful 0-9 record. At this point if there was an offseason game with the best of the DSFL people are suggesting even they would beat the Liberty. All in all a woeful season and people have been looking for a place to put blame. People are crying about players doing some absolutely bizarre things at critical times with a multitude of examples, people are saying maybe the QB's fault for lining up and playing at DT all game or maybe the kicker should have been kicking at better than 50% some games and they might win one or two.
In the end there has been a curse uncovered at the club that was hidden away in a locker. Jobu, or Jobus depending what you prefer. When I first was around the locker room I was introduced to Jobus and I thought it was a neat gimmick and a fun thing to play with and "worship". How wrong were we. This is a magic that we shouldn't have been touching.
Jobus is THE reason for this 0-9 start to the season. Jobus is the reason when you need a TD and you are 1st and goal with 2 minutes to play that you spike the ball and then refuse to run it despite us running better than a Kenyan. Jobus is the reason that Brock Phoenix lined up on defence.
Not only has this caused a disjointed side on the field, it has caused the team to become fractured in the locker room also. Offensive players arguing with defensive, rookies yelling at veterans, the whole thing is crazy the divide that Jobus has put through this team. This has also led to multiple star players requesting a trade to "any other team" as they don't care just out of Philly.
Rookie kicker Karmichael Hunt was quoted in saying
New GM Mori was quoted as saying
While offensive captain and voice of reason this whole time, Simon Tremblay put it very succinctly
Many things have been suggested as what to do with Jobus including just mailing him to another franchise to give them all the bad luck. Another suggestion was to forget about burying the ball to turn this season around and just bury Jobus. In the end though he has been made to disappear. Mori has been a GM for about a week and we have removed Jobus from the locker room and the team is starting to heal. There is more confidence back in the squad, people are excited to be playing football again.
While this season is almost finished and nought can be saved at least the team will be able to finish on a positive note and look towards the draft and the next season coming.
I reached out to Mori one last time for how he was feeling since removing Jobus from the locker room.

Quote:I saw Jobus eating pizza with a knife and fork.

Quote:I don’t want to say Jobus was the problem, but I don’t see any other explanation for how the season has gone. Since we got rid of Jobus players have had their missing belongings turn up, morale has improved and we’re looking much better in practice. Hopefully we can win a few games now and give ourselves something to build from in S25.
