A notice to the ISFL GM’s
Hi Everyone (but especially the ISFL GM’s), I thought it would be worth giving you all an update on the how the Coyotes rookie class has been playing so far this season and why I believe you should draft these players. I’m going to focus on the players who have been regularly updating their players. I’m also going to do a song comparison for each player (You’ll be asking why I’m doing this but even I’m not sure .The idea just came to me randomly so just go with it) Anyway let’s get to it and first off it’s a soon to be record breaking player:
Clay Stallworth - @Gravtx
(Offensive Lineman – Tackle)
TPE: 200
Stats: Games - 10, Pancakes - 54, Sacks Allowed - 2
Pancake Man. El Rey de los Panqueques. (The King of Pancakes)
Both names I’ve just made up but they easily apply to the current DSFL record holder for most pancakes in a single game AND the “soon to be” record holder for most pancakes in a DSFL season, Clay Stallworth. This guy is a BEAST at left tackle. Usually the first time defensive player sees him, they are looking up at him after he’s put them flat on their back. Currently sitting at 200 TPE he’s well on his way to hitting the DSFL max of 250. An integral part of what I consider to be the best offensive line in the DSFL. The team that drafts him will be getting an immoveable pancake machine that will be a stalwart on their offensive line for a decade plus.
The man behind Clay is a really good guy also, go follow his twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/gravtx ) for some awesome content. He also said he is trained in acting and singing so what more could you want in a draft pick? Awesome player, good guy, good at games and can give you a show! It’s basically the perfect package.
Song Comparison: Django Django – Shake and Tremble
Imagine being on a defensive line. Bright lights all around. Thousands of fans screaming. The ball gets snapped and you look up to see an athletic 6”5 340lbs monster of a man bearing down on you about to put you flat on your ass, what else are you going to do but shake and tremble.
Felix Archstone - @GlimsTC
Offensive Lineman – Tackle
TPE: 210
Stats: Games - 10, Pancakes – 25, Sacks Allowed – 2
Nuestra líder Sin Miedo. (Our fearless leader)
One half of the Coyotes fearless leadership (the best in the DSFL in my opinion) while being an awesome right tackle and a rookie. It has already been a really successful first season for Felix Archstone and I can only see it getting better! With 210 TPE already earned and a GM role in his 1st season in the league, Gilms will be a massive asset to whatever team takes him as he will get even better with experience. He is a really helpful dude as well as which I know first-hand as he’s always been happy to help me.
If any team is looking for an excellent right tackle/future GM (let’s be honest every team should be) then they all should all know to look no further than Glims.
Song Comparison: The Soca Boys – Follow the Leader
I would say that this comparison is pretty self-explanatory but in case it needs a little bit of explaining… Anybody looking to be in this league a long time and be an integral member of it at the same time, then they should definitely follow his example, as it is the best way to be.
Gary Goodman - @ShnarlyDude
Linebacker
TPE: 209
Stats: Games – 10, Tackles – 70, TFL – 2, Sacks – 1, INT – 2, PD - 5
El Guepardo (The Cheetah)
Why the cheetah? Because Gary Goodman is everywhere when he’s on the field and he never stops making plays at every level as shown in his impressive stat line. He is exactly what you would want a linebacker, impacting the game every single play. An very impressive haul of 209 TPE already earned means his play and stats are only going to get better.
A prolific article writer as well, I would highly recommend everyone go and a look at his previous articles. Each one is really well written and detailed. I’d definitely advise people to read his playoff probability articles on the DSFL and ISFL as they are both awesome (especially the part about the coyotes having a 80% chance of making the playoffs).
Another awesome dude (you’ll see this is a running theme with our draft class) who described himself as a “regular sweary potter”, which I personally think is a great way to be. Any team looking for a defensive player who will dominate on defence and win you some games through sheer force of will then look no further then El Guepardo.
Enrique Iglesias – Escape
Although this is kind of a strange song about someone trying to escape Enrique Iglesias’s love, I think it easily applies to Goodman in a football sense.
“But soon you’ll be finding,
You can run,
You can hide,
But you can’t escape my love”
You replace love in the lyrics with El Guepardo and you know what you get? You get the feeling that opposing teams get as they play against the Coyotes defence for the first time with Goodman making play after play.
Peter Patterson - @slate
Cornerback
TPE: 212
Stats: Games – 10, Tackles – 45, INT – 3, PD - 9
La Sombre Eterna (The eternal shadow)
An eternal shadow that always hangs over you. An accurate description of the playing style of Peter Patterson. A ball hawk, who just as an opposing player thinks he’s caught the ball swoops in to break up the play, whether that be a interception or a pass breakup. The highest earning rookie on our team with 212 TPE, Patterson will be a high calibre starting cornerback for whatever team makes the excellent choice of drafting him.
I would recommend people read his article on the player development of our rookie class if you haven’t already (https://forums.sim-football.com/showthre...?tid=25260). Slate is already established as one of the sim testers for the coyotes and he is doing really well. Any team would be lucky to have him doing their sim testing as he is extremely invested and detailed. I do believe that his sim testing will lead your teams to some wins where most other sim testers wouldn’t.
Just like everyone else, slate is a good dude. He’s already recruited some new people into the league, which is awesome. So if your team needs a starting level corner back, who sim tests at a extremely high level, then get slate at the top of your draft board ASAP. You won’t regret it.
Song Comparison: The Police – Every Breath You Take
Another easy comparison for me to make. Just like Sting, Patterson will be watching you, every single day, every word you say, every game you play, every night you stay (He’ll be watching you because that’s what La Sombre Eterna does, you can’t get away from him).
Tony Yeboah – @frazzle14
Safety
TPE: 184
Stats: Games – 10, Tackles – 42, Sacks - 3
El Asesino Sonriente (The Smiling Assassin)
Yeboah. Once described as “The Man, The Myth, The Legend”. An on point description for a man named after one of the greatest football (soccer) players to ever grace the earth. Although his TPE is a bit lower than the players I’ve described so far, don’t count him out. The 6’3 225lb will always be fighting for his team, making plays and before long he will be at that DSFL TPE max. Yeboah is also a part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle group who will be making waves in this league for a long time (Shout out to Xmus Flaxon Jaxon-Waxon, Buster “Boulder” Bawlls and Jeeeeroy Lenkins).
This is going to be the first in a series of articles I plan to write so although I may not have the volume of work others have, I will get their with time and become a media machine. I can promise you that.
So if any of you teams in the ISFL is looking for a fully committed, high earning, hard hitting safety who will be a part of your team for a long time then pick Yeboah. It’s the right choice.
Song Comparison: Machine Head – Ten Ton Hammer
If anyone wants to know how it feels to take a full force hit from a rampaging Yeboah then listen to this song and it’ll give you idea.
Connor Quigley - @WhatAmUs
Offensive Line - Guard
TPE: 122
Stats: Games – 10, Pancakes – 36, Sacks Allowed - 3
I did say that I’d only speak about people who had been regularly updating but I thought I’d give a special mention to Quigley who is a part of the vaunted Coyotes offensive line. Although his earned TPE is at a low level compared to the rest of us, teams would be silly to sleep on Quigley. He did himself admit that he had hadn’t been as active as he should have at the beginning but the main thing is he here now, he’s fully active and he’s going to be a top player in this league. He would be a steal in the later rounds of the draft if he falls.
Song Comparison: Cher- If I could turn back time
This just makes too much sense I don’t even need to put an explanation here.
I thought about putting a TL;DR here but that ain’t happening. People need to read this article to understand that these Coyotes rookies are going to be major players in this league for a very long time. In my opinion, any teams that pass on any of us will be making a huge mistake. So ISFL GM’s thanks for reading this and you know that come draft time, if you draft a Coyote, you will not be disappointed.
And always remember to FEAR THE HOWL.
