SUNS OUT GUNS OUT

Everyone loved the first publication, so we’re running it back with an exclusive group. As far as this author is concerned, these guys are the best AZ has to offer.
1) Standings
a. The Outlaws are 3-4 after week 7, but the ASFC is still very much wide open. What are you doing to get the team over the hump and into the playoffs?
b. (If you're still in the DSFL) The entire league, except for Norfolk, is basically all tied. What are you doing to get the team over the hump and into the playoffs?
2) Are you performing to your own standards and expectations thus far into the season? What was your best or worst performance so far?
3) Rookies still have to earn their stripes in the league especially off the field. What were/are some of the things you had to do as rookie initiation? If you’re a vet, what are some of your favorite things to make the rookies do?

1) The Birddogs are having a rough time so far, starting the season 1-3. As the First Wide Receiver, I have also been struggling with getting opportunities to get catches. But hopefully, I can get over this slump and perform well. A highlight was my first game where I almost gained 100 yards in receptions.
2) Definitely not, I only average like 50 yards a game which I think is low. If I can maintain my first performance of around 90 yards per game. That would be my ultimate goal. My worst performance was like 2 catches in a blowout loss.
3) Nothing yet, I'm hoping I get called up next season and get hazed by the Vets

1) After a great win in week seven, things are looking up for the outlaws. The defense played really well, and we finally clicked as a unit. Of course, the time in practice and in the film room is important, but I think the interpersonal relationships are the true keys to success. At least once a week, the defense has had teambuilding activities. Maybe it’s a round of golf, a backyard barbecue, and afternoon at the range, or movie night. Regardless, the camaraderie and trust built off the field leads to success on the field.
2) After a very disappointing season last year, I feel like I’m getting back into my groove. I had two sacks in week seven, which brings my total to six for the season. Aside from individual achievement, I know I am opening up rushing lanes for my defensive teammates. Across-the-board, we are putting up some Huge stats. The pro bowl is basically going to be a carbon copy of the Arizona lineup.
3) We haven’t done our rookie hazing yet this year (we usually do it around the trade deadline), and I don’t want to give away any secrets for this year. So, I will tell the story of my initiation in Myrtle Beach:
Me initiation was pretty typical fer a buc. First, I had t' haul th' firewood down t' th' beach, where I was baptized wit' a bucket o' seawater. Aft provin' me knowledge o' ships, I was forced t' complete basic tasks blindfolded. Aft an 11-drink flight o' rum (one fer each crew member on defense), I had t' climb th' mast 'n kiss th' Jolly Roger. Finally, I had t' drink goat's blood mixed wit' mead while recitin' th' pirate's code.
There you have it, one of the most fun hazings I’ve been a part of.

1) London started off with a barnstorming performance in Week 1 but had a tough double loss in their double header in Weeks 2 and 3. They followed it up with another win in Week 4 and currently sit at 2-2. We have been implementing an air raid style offense which has been a huge benefit to my stats this year. I'm currently 2nd in receptions and 3rd in yards in the DSFL averaging 76 yards per game. I'd like to see that number increase slightly, but where I could really step it up in TDs and drops. If I could've caught a few 3rd down balls or battled for a few more yards and scored in the two losses, they could've ended up as wins.
2) I'm performing close to the standard I was hoping for this season. I was hoping to get 1,000 yards and I'm on pace to match that and then some. My best game was probably Week 1 simply because of the touchdown. I caught 5 balls for 95 yards. Week 4 is a close second as I caught a career high 6, but also had 3 drops and no TD. Had I caught a couple of those I probably would've broken the Royals single game reception yards record. Worst performance was Week 3, with only 3 receptions on 31 yards. I don't want to pass the blame on that one, but there was an error that occurred that affected our team. No excuses though, myself and the team still should've played better.
3) Luckily I haven’t been called up to the pro’s yet, so I haven’t been hazed by those tough ISFL vets. However, as a vet of the Royals, I have been part of hazing this S25 class. Everyone knows London is notoriously cold in the winter and we make the rookies swim across the River Thames. It’s only resulted in 4 cases of pneumonia over the years, so it’s one of the safer rituals we pull. We don’t talk about the other ones as we’d likely get shut down.

1) What am I doing to get this team over the bump? I'm working out every day, showing up to practice early, staying longer to watch tape and examine my opponents. I'm really disappointed with how this team played in the first couple weeks. The win against the Yeti was a really big one. I think we got the ball rolling. It's gonna be much easier to get our 2nd win against the winless Liberty tonight. My goal is an interceptions and at least 2 PDs tonight. I expect big things from myself, so anything less is a disappointment. One can only hope my teammates are doing as much as I am in terms of preparation.
2) I think I am performing to my expected level. I have 3 ints and 7 PDs through 7 games. That's a lot of ints, more than I expected, but I am getting less PDs than I expected. I'm averaging 1 a game, which some may say is good, but I want more. My goal each season is at least 4 ints and 20 PDs. Right now I'm on pace to get 4 interceptions, but I need a couple games with multiple PDs in order to meet my goals. Some other players are doing really well this season, like Jim Waters and Dermot Lavelle Jr., and I need to keep pace with them if I want that coveted pro bowl spot. The best cornerbacks are always in the ASFC, so the competition is usually very stiff each year.
3) I remember my rookie year. I was playing alongside Tyler Oles Jr. Him and I had developed a bond, playing next to each other in Portland too. We were a premier CB duo, and we were destined for greatness. We would practice together, watch film together, and point out each others strengths and weaknesses. I guess my initiation into the Outlaws was that I was forcefed 11 donuts by Saba. One for each game I didn't get a picksix in.
