Hey everyone, it’s Bauer. I’m gonna write about my failed experiences here in the ISFL. Mostly because it’s an easy topic for me to talk about and I am a broke bitch that needs money! So we’ll start from the beginning with Jim McMahon, my first player.
So the ISFL was not my first league, obviously a lot of you know me from PBE. I joined PBE at the end of May and joined the NSFL as it was called back then in mid June. I had no idea what I was doing here in this league, all I knew is that a lot of people talked about the NSFL and I got talked into joining. I made probably the biggest mistake anyone could make here in this league, trying to become a quarterback. I had always loved playing quarterback in pickup games in school and that’s the position I always chose in Madden careers so I figured why not. Little did I know that it’s probably the hardest position to make work in this league. Not only do you have to be basically a complete max earner, but it’s also extremely oversaturated throughout the league. Nonetheless, I carried on with my quarterback dream. I was drafted to the San Antonio Marshals, now the Minnesota Grey Ducks, to be their starting quarterback. Being with the Marshals was an absolute blessing. Shady and Duilio were the GMs and made being on that team the best experience. I become friends with easily one of my favorite people in sim leagues on that team, Woelkers. That team really felt like a family and I enjoyed every second of playing for them. I stayed at quarterback for two seasons, and then once the draft came things changed. I had told teams that I would be willing to switch positions in the NSFL, but I wanted to stay a QB as long as I was in the DSFL. When I was originally drafted by the Liberty, they had the intention to make me switch right away. After that we had a falling out process and I was traded to the Colorado Yeti. The funniest part about getting traded to the Yeti, is that I actually did end up switching positions in the DSFL. Jim McMahon would become a speed wide receiver for the Marshals and absolutely tear it up. This is when things started to go a bit wrong for that player though. Obviously if you know about Jim McMahon in real life, he was the Bears quarterback in 85’. I liked playing wide receiver, but it also somewhat killed my drive in for that player. After a few seasons, both myself and Frick agreed that it would be the end of Jim McMahon. While McMahon had a very lackluster career, I met the absolute best people in this league during his time and I wouldn’t change that for a second.
So now we move on to Thubba Bumper, my player that just retired. It’s worth it to say that I was the Grey Ducks Co-GM at the time, the biggest mistake of woelkers life. I felt terrible because I did basically none of the actual sim work and only talked in the locker room from time to time. This did earn us an Ultimini though so I guess we did something right? So back to Thubba. Thubba Bumper is the brother of legendary player Bubba Thumper. My man crush for woelkers is very apparent from the first paragraph, so that’s really the only reason that was his name. He was a cornerback in the DSFL and a very decent one as well. I was picked up mid season by the Grey Ducks so this would mean I would go to the DSFL draft the following season. This is where my sim league wife Bex would come in to play. She obviously hounded the Norfolk war room to pick up my dumbass. Playing for Norfolk was also one of the best things to happen to me though. This is also where I met Tesla, the nicest lady in all of the league. I’m starting to see a theme happen where all my fun is with the DSFL. Anyways, I had a really good career over in Norfolk and I’m even in their hall of fame. I had every intention of being a fairly good earner with Thubba, but things started to tail off when I got drafted to the Yeti. Now this has absolutely nothing to do with the Yeti, Frick and Woelkers are the best of GMs. I had a lot going on in my personal life during Thubba’s time and I lost focus on this league. I felt extremely bad because they even traded up to get me, but I guess I don’t have a ton of control over certain things. This brings me to yesterday when I was finally ready to come back to the league. Thubba was so far behind, the Yeti didn’t really need me anymore and it was time to move on.
So here we are with Schumi Hulkenvettel. The combination of 3 of my favorite Formula 1 drivers. Yes i’m obsessed with F1, I get it, it’s fine. Now that I am ready to handle 2 sim league’s again, I want to get it right this time. Teams are definitely going to back skeptical of drafting me because of my history in this league and that’s okay. Me failing in this league is completely my fault and I will not hold anything against anyone if they think less of me for that. I start my new journey today with the speedy wide receiver build because speed equals wins apparently. Anyways this is all I got, a no shame money grab and a way to explain what went wrong with my ISFL career. I do truly intend on being near the top of my class with this new player, I just need people to yell at me to keep focus on this league as well.
