With Season 24 winding to a close and further expansion right around the corner, this seems like an appropriate time to reflect. Today, I’ll be breaking down the records for single-game offensive performances.
*Disclaimer: These are records as they originally stood; if they have been matched but not surpassed, those new players are not included in this list.
Passing
Most Passing Yards - Borkus Maximus III - 539 yd - S10 W9
In their Season 10, Week 9 game versus the Orange County Otters, the New Orleans Second Line absolutely crushed with a final score of 61-7. Besides that absurd score, NOLA QB Borkus Maximus III was able to throw for a record 539 yards and 5 TDs, with only 1 interception. That year, the Second Line made it to the Ultimus for the third year in a row, losing to the Baltimore Hawks. Maximus would go on to win ISFL MVP for S10, and was later inducted into the ISFL Hall of Fame in the 2035 class (S20).
Most Passing Touchdowns - Mike Boss - 8 TD - S6 W6
In their Season 6, Week 6 blowout against the Colorado Yeti, the Orange County Otters scored 69 points to the Yeti’s 17. Mike Boss, arguably the greatest QB in ISFL history, threw for 486 yards and a record 8 TDs, with only 1 interception. Orange County would go on to win the Ultimus that season, their 3rd straight title. Mike Boss was named ISFL MVP in seasons 4, 5, and 6, and was inducted into the ISFL Hall of Fame in the 2025 class (S10).
Most Passes Completed - Childish Gambino - 42 Cmp - S13 W8
In their nail biting Season 13, Week 6 loss to the Orange County Otters, the Baltimore Hawks put up 27 points to OCO’s 30. Baltimore QB Childish Gambino had both a great and a terrible game, throwing a record 42 completions and 459 yards, but also only 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. The Hawks wound up going 4-10 for the season, missing the playoffs. However, Gambino would wind up winning ISFL MVP in seasons 14 and 15, and was inducted into the ISFL Hall of Fame in the 2033 class (S18).
Most Interceptions Thrown - Mike Boss - 6 INT - S1 W1
Oh boy. In his first ever game, future legend Mike Boss had an abysmal game. In the 27-12 loss to the Arizona Outlaws, the Orange County QB threw for a solid 312 yards, completing 30/50 passes. However, he threw for ZERO TDs and 6 interceptions. Unsurprisingly, all of their scoring efforts were field goals. OCO finished the season 9-5 despite their rocky start, but did not wind up making the Ultimus. Arizona would actually wind up winning it all.
Receiving
Most Receiving Yards - Jordan Yates - 212 yd - S6 W10
In their Season 6, Week 10 37-30 loss to the Baltimore Hawks, Orange County’s offense still shone. Mike Boss threw for 496 yards and 3 TDs, his top target being Jordan Yates, who caught for a record 212 yards and 2 TDs. As previously mentioned, Orange County won the Ultimus that year, and Yates was the receiving leader for the season.
Most Receiving Touchdowns - Josh Garden - 4 TD - S4 W2
In their Season 4, Week 2 win, the Arizona Outlaws defeated the Philadelphia Liberty 48-10. ARI QB King Bronco threw for 6 TDs, 4 of which were caught by Josh Garden, who also had 125 receiving yards that game. The Outlaws led the league that season with a 12-2 record, but would be defeated by Orange County in the ASFC Championship. The Otters would also go on to win the Ultimus. Josh Garden would end up getting inducted into the ISFL Hall of Fame in the 2029 class (S14).
Most Receptions Made - Ricky Adams - 16 Rec - S11 W10
In their Season 11, Week 10 win, the Otters scored 37 to the Philadelphia Liberty’s 14. The team was carried by Ricky Adams that game, where he was the top rusher and top pass catcher. With 12 attempts for 62 yards and a record 16 catches for 152 yards, he only had 1 touchdown. The Otters were defeated by the New Orleans Second Line in the ASFC Championship. NOLA went on to win the Ultimus. As for Ricky Adams, he went on to win ISFL MVP for S12, as well as winning 2 Ultimus titles with the Otters.
Rushing
Most Rushing Yards - Franklin Armstrong - 221 yd - S20 W4
In their Season 20, Week 4 win over the Colorado Yeti, the Orange County Otters put up 41 points to Colorado’s 17. And this was almost entirely due to Franklin Armstrong’s sheer athleticism. Sure, he threw for 198 and a touchdown, but he also only completed 8 of his 26 passes and threw 1 interception. His ground game is where he really showed off. Rushing for a record 221 yards off of 10 attempts, he also scored 3 touchdowns. The Otters finished 7-6 and were eliminated in the first round of playoffs. Armstrong still managed to win MVP that season, as he did the season before (19) and the season after (21). With the Otters, he has 3 Ultimus wins. Armstrong is a future Hall-of-Famer, without question.
Most Rushing Touchdowns - Morgan Marshall - 5 TD - S18 W2
In their Season 18, Week 2 game the Yellowknife Wraiths handily defeated the Chicago Butchers, 49-15. Their top rusher was Morgan Marshall, who rushed for 76 yards and a record 5 touchdowns on 20 attempts. The Wraiths finished that season 11-2, and made it all the way to the Ultimus, where they lost to the Orange County Otters, 16-10. Marshall retired after that season, with no titles to his name, nor any major awards. Still, 5 rushing TDs in a single game is going to be hard to beat.
Most Rushing Attempts - Ardie Savea - 46 Att - S4 W4
In their Season 4, Week 4 win, the short-lived Las Vegas Legion managed 30 points to the Colorado Yeti’s 17. Though he did not score a touchdown, Ardie Savea rushed an incredible (and record-setting) 46 times, albeit only earning 132 yards in the process. The Legion finished their season with a 3-11 record, killing their playoff chances. 2 seasons later, the team rebranded to become the New Orleans Second Line, the team that would win Savea his only Ultimus title in S9.
