Well the regular season is over which means that Action Jackson has officially ended his career. As Im getting ready for the draft with Dexter I wanted to look back at Action who had a stellar career, ending with 442 catches, 6,199 yards, 34 touchdown and a average of 14 yards per catch.
He was a four time pro bowler and won a championship his first season in YellowKnife last season. That was for sure the icing on the cake for him by far. His career didnt start off so well for him though. After being drafted in the second round towards the end he would wind up being a steal but not for his original team, NO Second Line.
For his first season he would be wide receiver 3/TE for the Second Line where he would grab 36 catches for 294 yards and just one touchdown. He would get into it with a teammate during season 18 in which both players would be traded away. While he wasn't happy about it at the time and resented the GM at the time, it turned out to be a great career move for him.
Halfway through season 18 he was sent to Chicago where he would become a wide receiver one and showcase his stuff. He ended the season with 56 catches, 682 yards and one touchdown. That off season he would test the free agent market where he would finally settle down for a few seasons in San Jose. He would truly become a wide receiver one while there.
Starting in season 19 he would make the pro bowl for three straight seasons in San Jose. He would enjoy the most success here as a individual. While in San Jose he accumulated 251 catches, 3918 yards and 19 touchdowns. While he loved the guys and management in San Jose he felt like it was time to play for himself and try to win a championship and YellowKnife gave him the best opportunity he felt.
While a few teams called during free agency Action decided the Wraiths gave him a great shot at winning it all. Season 23 saw Action help YellowKnife finally get over the hump and win the big one where they had struggled for seasons. The team was great and though this last season didnt go as well as hoped Action still had a ring from his first season with them. His YellowKnife career ended with him catching 99 balls for 1305 yards and 13 touchdowns. Almost half his career touchdowns came in two seasons in . Thats crazy to me but there it is.
As I get ready for Dex to start his career its been a great ride with Action. For the last time this is Action and im out.
