An “analysis” of the Season 25 ISFL draft class
Hello and welcome to my “analysis” of the season 25 ISFL draft class. I’m basically just going to be talking about each of the top players in this draft class in order of TPE. I’d do a mock draft but I really don’t have any idea what teams need so it’s probably better this way. I can guarantee that this will be all over the place and NOT something you want to read if you’re looking for actual insight into these players. With that out of the way, let’s begin.
Tex Wrecks - DE - 275 TPE - Tijuana Luchadores
S24 stats: 41 tackles, 17 TFL, 3 sacks
Our first player is my good buddy 209tacos who is pacing the field with 275 TPE. It seems like he gets just about every prediction right, because he’s miles ahead of most of the class. Wrecks certainly put on a show this season with 17 tackles for losses, which was good for second in the DSFL. Wrecks projects to be a surefire first round pick and a future superstar for whichever team decides to draft him. It also warrants a mention that Wrecks was taken 28th overall in the S24 DSFL draft, which is an incredible steal for Tijuana.
Goat Tank - DT - 269 TPE - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
S24 stats: 53 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 FF/3 FR, 6 sacks
Tank is another defensive lineman with a pretty badass name. He also had a pretty dominant rookie season, with his 53 tackles and 6 sacks. He’s another guy who’s almost a certain first round lock, and is also far ahead of the pack TPE-wise. Tank was drafted third overall in the DSFL draft last season, and has lived up to the hype he got. Can’t go wrong with this pick no matter who takes him.
Dukburg QuakStak - CB - 255 TPE - Norfolk SeaWolves
S24 stats: 41 tackles, 1 FF, 2 INT, 8 PD
QuakStak is the first defensive back we’ve had so far, and continues the trend of defensive players being clearly superior to offensive players. But everybody knew that already. I got to spend a little time in Norfolk at the end of S23 when my player was brand new, and I know westfield is a league veteran, so no surprise seeing him at the top of the TPE charts. QuakStak’s season was pretty productive, and he and Norfolk once again find themselves in the thick of things going into the home stretch of the season.
Medicinal Toblerone - OL - 254 TPE - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
S24 stats: 30 pancakes, 4 sacks allowed
The meme build is in action for JuOSu, as she managed to get taken like 80th in the DSFL draft last season, which is an impressive feat for the kind of activity levels she brings. I think we should all be racing to get drafted last instead of first, now that would make it interesting. There’s not a ton to comment on statistically with o-lineman, other than the fact that they really like pancakes. It would seem pretty obvious as to where Toblerone is going in the draft, but hey, crazier things have happened.
Dave Batista - TE - 253 TPE - Portland Pythons
S24 stats: 49 receptions, 443 yards, 4 TD
The first of my current teammates to show up here, Batista curiously dropped to 25th overall in the DSFL draft to the Pythons, despite being a very well known user in sim leagues. He’s listed as a fullback on the index so that may be it, but he’s listed as a tight end on the TPE tracker, so I don’t know what to believe. (I guess him being a GM probably plays a factor in him dropping, but you know, whatever). Anyways, Batista had a relatively good season and is a solid tight end that averaged about nine yards per reception. He’ll be a good early round pick in the draft and an ever-reliable target to throw to.
Donald McBobby - LB - 248 TPE - Portland Pythons
S24 stats: 82 tackles, 2 TFL, 6 sacks, 1 INT, 4 PD, 1 safety
Hey, I know this guy! I am currently lagging a bit behind in TPE, I’m about 13 short of where I should be right now with me not getting my PT claim in time and the extra equipment I need to buy. Hopefully this massive article pays enough for it. I think McBobby has probably had the most dominant season of anyone we’ve gone over so far, with all those tackles and sacks. Being a linebacker probably gives me a bit of an advantage in the tackle department, to be fair. I’m hoping to go first round but with my draft history I’ll probably just end up going in the 40’s again.
Hank Winchester - LB - 248 TPE - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
S24 stats: 106 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 FF, 2 sacks, 3 PD
Currently at the same TPE as I am right now, Winchester is yet another member of the Buccaneers to make the top ten. You’ve gotta expect they’ll be good next season with three of the top seven earners on their team. Winchester also had a dominant season, after going 19th in the DSFL draft. Timeconsumer is also a very well known user and should end up going pretty early in the ISFL draft too.
Davriel Lavigne - S - 245 TPE - Portland Pythons
S24 stats: 60 tackles, 1 FR, 2 sacks, 2 INT, 4 PD
The Pythons are representing here in the top ten, and another defensive star to add to the list here. Lavigne was the first overall pick in the DSFL draft for great reason, as Raven is another excellent user. Lavigne’s season was extremely solid, it’s difficult to rack up stats at safety so definitely an impressive season from him. As I’m writing this we’re about 45 minutes out from the final game of the regular season, where Lavigne and Co. will attempt to survive and advance into the DSFL playoffs, and he’ll likely play a big role in whether that happens or not. (Update: We made it bois)
Harley Fank - WR - 244 TPE - Norfolk SeaWolves
S24 stats: 38 receptions, 375 yards, 4 TD
Harley Fank is defying expectations after going 64th overall in the DSFL draft. He’s currently top 10 in TPE and the number one wide receiver in the class. He was drafted to a winning franchise in Norfolk, where he will certainly play a big factor in the pressure moments in the playoffs. Fank is going to be looked at as a first round pick, a far cry from what he was looked at as coming into the league.
Rylan Crowder - DE - 239 TPE - Dallas Birddogs
S24 stats: 43 tackles, 10 TFL, 3 sacks
We have our first appearance from the Dallas Birddogs now, as Rylan Crowder steps into the game, rounding out the current top 10 in TPE. He’s the second defensive end we’ve seen so far, and put up comparable stats to Wrecks, the first one. Crowder went 6th overall in the DSFL draft so expectations were high, and Dallas certainly did not miss with their pick here. Crowder is another guy who is going to be looked at early as a potential cornerstone piece for a franchise.
Dan Foster - CB - 236 TPE - Portland Pythons
S24 stats: 60 tackles, 2 INT, 13 PD
If you haven’t been able to tell, the two winners of this draft so far are Portland and Myrtle Beach from what I can tell. Foster went 9th overall and did not disappoint, which 13 pass deflections to go along with his 60 tackles. To go along with that, Arkz is incredibly active and a positive presence in the Portland locker room, a quality that cannot be understated. This draft class is full of talent and it only gets deeper from here.
Rich Triplet - CB - 236 TPE - Tijuana Luchadores
S24 stats: 44 tackles, 1 FF/1FR, 1 INT, 9 PD
Triplet just so happens to have the exact same TPE number as Foster, in addition to playing the same position, so their basically intertwined at this point. Triplet is 12th in TPE and was drafted 12th, by the Tijuana Luchadores, who have the best record in the DSFL as we speak. This is due to in large part the defensive additions they’ve made this season, which has bolstered them into a championship contending spot. Expect Triplet to go in the first round as well, as teams always need that next cornerstone on the defensive side of the ball.
Guy Fields - LB - 235 TPE - Dallas Birddogs
S24 stats: 108 tackles, 1 TFL, 2 PD
Guy Fields currently has 108 tackles on the season, good for third in the DSFL, first among rookies, and is a dominant force in the middle of the Birddogs defense. After being selected 14th overall, Fields has lived up to his draft slot and even overperformed in his rookie season.
There’s just a trend with all these defensive players, it’s because we’re clearly on another planet. GMs are going to love this draft class if they’re trying to bolster their defense.
Tayshaun Crunk - S - 235 TPE - London Royals
S24 stats: 48 tackles, 1 TFL, 4 INT, 6 PD, 1 TD
Crunk is the first player with a defensive touchdown so far, and he also happens to be the first representative from the London Royals that we’ve seen today. Crunk was drafted 13th overall, right before Fields, who’s at the exact same TPE level as him. Seems like these GMs knew what they were doing for the most part (See: McBobby). Crunk led the DSFL in interceptions this season with 4, and contributed heavily to the Royals division winning season.
Djibutee McJimmerson - TE - 233 TPE - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
S24 stats: 23 receptions, 162 yards, 3 TD
Absolutely outstanding name here. Just phenomenal. I don’t think we really even need to look past that, but we will just a little bit. McJimmerson was an absolute gem in the draft, going 51 overall to Myrtle Beach. While his success in earning hasn’t translated to the field yet, it certainly will in the future and I for one am ready to see this man in the league for a long time.
Killian Chambers - WR - 232 TPE - Minnesota Grey Ducks
S24 stats: 29 receptions, 334 yard, 1 TD
Let’s welcome the Grey Ducks to the party, as they have been notably absent from this article so far. While Minnesota is currently in last in the DSFL, they have a run of players coming up here, so hopefully for them they’ll be able to make something out of it. Chambers was a mid-second round pick and is their top earner in the class so far, which is an encouraging sign for them. He’s also the second highest ranked receiver in this class overall, so Chambers will surely attract a lot of attention from ISFL scouts.
Mike Rotchburns - RB - 232 TPE - Minnesota Grey Ducks
S24 stats: 205 attempts, 946 yards, 6 TD
Whereas McJimmerson gets an A+ for his name, this one’s a stone cold F. Looking past that though, Rotchburns is the highest TPE running back in this class and is primed to contribute to a team right away. After going a little later than expected at 30th overall in the DSFL draft, Rotchburns shut up the haters with a near thousand yard season (he may have gotten there tonight) and has shot his stock up everyone’s draft boards.
Albert Ruschmann - DE - 232 TPE - London Royals
S24 stats: 31 tackles, 14 TFL, 1 FF, 5 sacks
The sheer volume of high earners in this draft class is actually incredible. It feels like we’re just getting started looking at the TPE tracker. But we’re going to have to cut it off at some point. For now though, let’s talk about the 5th overall pick in the DSFL draft. Ruschmann had an outstanding season and while he’s a little lower on the list from where he was drafted, it’s such a tight gap that he can make it up relatively quickly.
Felix Archstone - OL - 231 TPE - Kansas City Coyotes
S24 stats: 33 pancakes, 2 sacks allowed
We’ve finally reached our last DSFL team that hasn’t been mentioned yet, the Kansas City Coyotes. We’ve seemingly seen everything today (except, you know, a quarterback) and we’ve got a second offensive lineman here. He actually went 15th overall, the highest for an offensive lineman, so the GMs of KC must be extremely confident about his talent level by taking him that early in this league. Either way, Archstone is a top prospect in his own right.
Jameson Vermillion - RB - 231 TPE - Minnesota Grey Ducks
S24 stats: 208 rushes, 1099 yards, 4 TD
Vermillion set the DSFL on fire with a 1000 yard rushing season, finishing fourth in the DSFL in yards and first among all rookies. He has high expectations heaped on his shoulders after being drafted 10th overall to Minnesota, and certainly has the potential to become one of the next star running backs in the ISFL.
**Players stats from now on will include the last game of the season as well**
L’Gazzy Burfict - LB - 229 TPE - London Royals
S24 stats: 72 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 FF, 5 sacks, 1 PD
Burfict went 77th overall in the draft, the latest draftee we’ve seen so far and probably the biggest steal too. He finds himself on the cusp of top 20 in the class in TPE and was a massive contributor to the Royals division winning season. He’s certainly projected to much much higher this time around in the ISFL draft, and teams will be on notice for this rising star linebacker.
Peter Patterson - CB - 228 TPE - Kansas City Coyotes
S24 stats: 64 tackles, 2 FF/2 FR, 3 INT, 12 PD
While it would seem based on his TPE level and the Coyotes slightly reached for this pick, his excellent production this season makes it seem that they knew what they were doing. You can’t ask for much more out of the cornerback position if you’re Kansas City, and as long as this player keeps earning he could be an extremely effective defensive back for any ISFL team in the future.
Darren Pama - RB - 228 TPE - Portland Pythons
S24 stats: 222 rushes, 879 yards, 4 TD
Pama had a very effective first season for the Pythons, running for nearly 900 yards. He was taken 22nd overall in the DSFL draft which is pretty close to where he is in the TPE race, and he’s currently the third ranked running back in this class after Rotchburns and Vermillion. Definitely someone to look out for if a team is thin at running back in the second or third round.
Chuck Roth - OL - 228 TPE - Portland Pythons
S24 stats: 59 pancakes, 2 sacks allowed
The 41st pick in the DSFL draft had an excellent first season for the Pythons. He came up with the second most pancakes in the DSFL at 59 and only allowed two sacks, and since those are the only two numbers we have to judge from, I’d say he was one of the most effective lineman in the league. That could make him one of the first linemen off the board in this draft.
James Gath - CB - 228 TPE - Minnesota Grey Ducks
S24 stats: 36 tackles, 7 PD
Minnesota must have seen superstar potential in Gath when they selected him second overall in the DSFL draft. While his TPE placement relative to his draft position and his on-field performance leave much to be desired, don’t count him out yet. Gath could potentially end up being a steal in the draft if he falls this time around.
Adam Mellott - OL - 228 TPE - Tijuana Luchadores
S24 stats: 48 pancakes, 1 sack allowed
Offensive lineman may not be the flashiest players but they sure are important to have. This is the scenario with a bunch of these offensive linemen we’ve seen here, they may slip a little in the draft but they could be absolute steals if they continue earning. Mellott and Roth are pretty much in the same category and should go relatively close to each other.
Terry Tate - LB - 228 TPE - Tijuana Luchadores
S24 stats: 74 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 FF/1 FR, 8 sacks, 1 INT, 7 PD
HE DED. RIP to a legend.
Honky-Tonk Haywood - DT - 227 TPE - Portland Pythons
S24 stats: 32 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack
Honky-Tonk has arrived, the legend himself. The man who slipped to 57th in the DSFL draft despite a legendary name and a lot of game. I may be overselling him a little bit here but I hope Honky-Tonk goes relatively early in this draft, he’ll surely be worth the pick for any team that picks him up in the draft.
Jimi DeSoto - LB - 227 TPE - Norfolk SeaWolves
S24 stats: 78 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 FR, 2 sacks, 2 INT, 3 PD
DeSoto had an incredible rookie season in Norfolk, packing the stat sheet everywhere. He adds to the already impressive list of linebacker prospects in this draft class. DeSoto was selected with the 24th pick in the DSFL draft, but his on field performance suggests that maybe he should’ve been taken even higher. Any team that drafts him will likely be getting production very quickly from him.
Gary Goodman - LB - 226 TPE - Kansas City Coyotes
S24 stats: 99 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack, 3 INT, 8 PD
Yet another linebacker to add to the list, and yet another stellar rookie season to talk about. Goodman was top 10 in the DSFL in tackles this season with 99, as well as being one of the top linebackers in pass deflections. Not bad for a rookie. Goodman, much like DeSoto, seems to be overperforming his draft position and is someone to keep an eye on in this draft.
Vance Slattery - DT - 225 TPE - Tijuana Luchadores
S24 stats: 35 tackles, 4 TFL, 3 sacks
Slattery is going to be the final player I talk about today, as I’m about 30 players in and think that’s good enough to recap all the top prospects in the S24 ISFL draft. Slattery had a solid rookie year for the Luchadores, the team with the best record in DSFL. After being drafted 44th overall, Slattery has upped his game and now looks to be targeted in the second to third round range.
That’s about it for this article - just another reminder that none of what I said is supposed to come with any knowledge or expertise on this draft or the ISFL teams. Good luck to everyone in this draft!
Hello and welcome to my “analysis” of the season 25 ISFL draft class. I’m basically just going to be talking about each of the top players in this draft class in order of TPE.
