Norfolk Seawolves Hall of Fame Inductees
The 23rd season in the Developmental Simulation Football league finally brought an the Ultimini home to Norfolk. Having had a couple of seasons of close scrapes with the Ultimini the team would go 10-4 in the regular season, their best season since the teams inception, before a tight win over Dallas in the first round followed by a dismantling of Kansas in the Ultimini would see Norfolk crowned champions. Three players from this run have rightfully earned their place in the Pantheon of the Norfolk Seawolves. The Doug Norfolk Hall of Fame welcomes these three new entrants and wishes them all the best in their already promising ISFL careers.
Luke Skywalker - @muse316 - S21 Rd. 7 Pck. 6; 54OA
Luke Skywalker was taken by Norfolk in the S21 DSFL Draft in the 7th round, playing 3 years in Norfolk including the Ultimini winning season of 2038. As a rookie the young QB threw for over 1300 yards, 12 TD's and finished the regular season with a passer rating of 73.4. Luke also took home the DSFL Performance of the Week in Week 4 of that year, with a 3TD, 97 yard performance. Skywalker ran the offense in the Ultimini winning team, adding a significant chapter to the storied legacy of Norfolk and we're happy to have him in our Hall of Fame.
Benoit Blanco - @xQCFamous - Waiver Acquisition
Almost as if ordained Blanco found their way onto the Norfolk Seawolves through the waiver process and Norfolk have never looked back. Beginning his career as a receiver he notched up 342 yards on 34 receptions and picked up a TD along the way before converting to Safety. What followed was a brilliant seasonal performance with 49 tackles and two picks, establishing a No Fly Zone propelling Norfolk to the Ultimini. His 14 yard interception in the second quarter of the Ultimini can't be forgotten, sealing Kansas' fate. Not to be outdone though he added another 936 yards between kick and punt returns. We're excited to have such a versatile and exciting player in our Hall of Fame and we welcome him in with open arms.
Adélie de Pengu - @IsaStarcrossed - S22 Rd. 1 Pck. 3; 3OA
Being drafted in the first round comes with a lot of pressure and a lot of expectations. To say that de Pengu has exceeded expectations whilst handling the pressure would be to do the penguin a great disservice. He's been exceptional across the board, recording a combined 192 tackles in their two seasons at Norfolk along with two picks, a sack and two forced fumbles, both recovered by the slippery customer. Their versatility is well known, having moved from Safety to Linebacker in their time at Norfolk. Their tackle leading performance at the Ultimini can't be understated, as their nine tackles held the Coyotes to minimal options on the ground. Pengu is only at the start of their inevitable multi-accolade career and we're glad we can induct them into the Norfolk Hall of Fame!
Congratulations to the new Hall of Fame Inductees! Thank you for your dedication to the league and we wish you well moving forward.
