Timmy Dimbi Scouting Report
Tijuana Luchadores defensive tackle Timmy Dimbi is an interesting case to follow for the upcoming S25 International Simulation Football League. The Defensive tackle joined the Tijuana Luchadores via the waiver wire a few weeks into the season and has since been a pretty good addition to the team. The defensive tackle has not really made much of an impact on the field thus far but he has been a pleasant surprise for the Tijuana Luchadores team that is pretty close and talented. While the Tijuana Luchadores did not really have a necessary need for Timmy Dimbi, they felt like he was a good fit and could be a solid role player down the line. Timmy Dimbi is interesting because he is a raw talent who has a lot of potential but whether he ever hits that potential is a concern for scouts around the International Simulation Football League. Timmy Dimibi is fairly far behind his fellow draftees in terms of earning and practice hours which may put Timmy Dimbi near the bottom of team draft boards. Timmy Dimbi could be a risky pick for a team but he is considered a boom or bust type prospect Some scouts think that Timmy Dimbi might be one of the biggest steals in this coming draft. Based on some of the mocks that media members have released, Timmy Dimbi is usually not even mentioned or he is labeled in the fifth or sixth round. Timmy Dimbi at this point deserves to be considered a late round selection that a team takes a flier on. Timmy Dimbi has told the media he has heard from a few teams thus far, but it is still early in the draft scouting season for teams. Dimbi had this to say on his draft stock: “I have tried not to focus too much on the draft. My ultimate goal is to help the Tijuana Luchadores win the championship and try to make plays along the way. I know I am a bit behind my fellow draftees in terms of earnings and other things. I have tried to make up some ground but I knew coming in I would have to put in a lot of work which I have tried to do. I feel like I have set myself up to be drafted in the later rounds. I feel like thus far there have been a few teams interested in me and have heard good things about me from Tijuana management. I know I come with a lot of risk that stems from joining the league a bit later and being behind in development compared to other prospects. I feel like for now I have kind of lowered those concerns a bit but I think some teams still might be a bit “scared” of me which I understand. I feel like I am a great prospect with a lot of potential. I feel like whoever takes me will be rewarded with someone who tries hard and does their best. I feel like I am more than worth a late round flier and hopefully, someone gives me a chance to kind of prove myself a bit.”
Season 24 Statistics
TIJ | 11 Games Played | 11 Tackles | 1 Tackle For Loss | 2 Sacks
Overall Timmy Dimbi had a solid but not great start to his career in the Developmental Simulation Football League. Dimbi averaged one tackle per game in his Developmental Simulation Football League stint. As a late bloomer, Dimbi did the best he could joining the season late. Near the end of the season, Dimbi had a shift to defensive end from defensive tackle which seemed to be a solid move. Right now it is unclear if Timmy Dimbi will switch positions. That will depend on the call-up situation for the Tijuana Luchadores because it is almost guaranteed wherever Timmy Dimbi lands in the draft, he will be back with the Tijuana Luchadores in the Developmental Simulation Football League next season.
“Reflecting on my season, overall I thought I did okay. I mean, everyone kind of wishes their statistics were better but I do not think I should complain. I joined the season late and had a pretty steep learning curve. Overall I am happy, and looking forward to hopefully putting up a better season next year in the Developmental Simulation Football League because I doubt I will be called up to the International Simulation Football League, so I probably end up back in Tijuana which is fine by me. I am just looking forward to seeing where I end up in the draft on friday.”
Scouting Report
Timmy Dimbi is a defensive tackle who is known for being more of an interior rusher. He stands at 6 foot 4 inches and weighs 308 pounds. Timmy Dimbi is a project type player who possesses the physical tools to become a great player but currently lacks the football skills to be that right now. Strengths
Speed: Currently, Timmy Dimbi possesses good speed. Timmy Dimbi has focused a lot on his speed which helps him get the inside edge on the offensive lineman he battles. Once Dimbi gets off the snap count, he is really quick. Dimbi has to get going first though which may be a struggle at times but we will discuss that later. Dimbi’s speed makes him dangerous and potentially an elite player at the Developmental Simulation Football League level. His 40 yard dash score at the International Simulation Football League shows that his speed is an asset and scouts took notice for sure. His speed may be enough for the International Simulation Football League level but unfortunately, some of his other skills may not be there, but his speed will never be questioned. Football IQ: Overall, Timmy Dimbi has good football intelligence. He understands the positions and where he needs to be to make plays. He is also considered by many of his coaches, “a student of the game”. Dimbi is always trying to learn new things and likes to be involved in learning. While his “football IQ” may not be perfect, he is very coachable and it will come as Dimbi continues to learn the Developmental Simulation Football League game, as well as the International Simulation Football League game.
Endurance: Thus far Timmy Dimbi has not played a lot of snaps so it is hard to say how good his endurance actually is but so far he has been in good shape fitness wise. He has done a lot of cardiovascular exercises in his training and has yet to really gas out during games. This upcoming season in the Developmental Simulation Football League may test his endurance if other defensive tackles get called up to the International Simulation Football League. Timmy Dimbi may have to start putting more effort into his cardiovascular health if he is going to be depended on as the Tijuana Luchadores starting defensive tackle. But. for now, though, his overall fitness should be considered a strength for Timmy Dimbi.
Weaknesses
Tackling: Timmy Dimbi’s tackling technique is not quite there yet which can be also seen in his statistics for this past season with 11 tackles in 11 games. Timmy Dimbi’s tackling leaves a lot to be desired but can and will improve as he develops. Timmy Dimbi’s tackling is a bit unconventional right now as he is a bit clumsy and sometimes lacks the control of his body to tackle well. While he has the strength to do so, his technique is just not great at the moment. He will have to be coached up a bit more in that regard but there were some improvements as he moved from defensive tackle to defensive end. Timmy Dimbi’s tackling numbers should go up next season by quite a bit. Tackling will be a skill Timmy Dimbi looks to improve this offseason as part of his offseason training regimen. If Timmy Dimbi wants to be a starter in the International Simulation Football League he will have to get his tackling technique down before moving up to the next level. Agility: As previously mentioned, Timmy Dimbi has excellent speed once he gets going. Getting going is a bit tougher for Timmy Dimbi as his acceleration and agility are lacking. Sometimes he has a hard time getting off the count and being able to get to his top speed fast enough. Once Timmy Dimbi gets his first few steps and burst of power he will become a dominant athlete on the field. His agility will be on his training regiment this offseason as well and it will continue to be a focus throughout the season. Timmy Dimbi is a strong athlete so it should not take him too long to get his agility to an acceptable level for the International Simulation Football League.
Overall, Timmy Dimbi is an excellent project late round pick for any team in the International Simulation Football League. It will be interesting to see where he lands and how his development goes. Currently, he is on a pretty good trajectory but who knows how that trajectory will go. For now, Timmy Dimbi remains an unknown commodity in the International Simulation Football League circles.
