Hello Connor Quigley and welcome to the 8th episode of behind the wall!
“Happy to be here!”
So I would be foolish to gloss over your presence on twitter. What inspires you to share everything that you do?
“Haha, well, sometimes it's the littlest things in life that inspire you to put your thoughts out into the aether. Things like love, sadness, and double dry-hopped IPAs.”
Ah yes, good dry-hopped IPAs. Do you have a favorite style? I am a big Hazy IPA fan myself
“Love me some Hazy action man, but ultimately, I'll go with anything that isn't too sour or insanely fruit-like”
ahh, I see. So onto your on the field performance. Last season you led all guards in the DSFL in pancakes. Do you think you will be able to repeat that level of dominance?
“Oh man I really hope so, but part of me thinks I had an insane amount of sim luck haha. For my second season in the DSFL, my goal is to let up 0 sacks, so my more balanced build I’m going for will hopefully reflect that. If I can continue the solid pancake rate, so be it, but I really wanna keep my QB safe, that’s the main goal right there.”
I totally understand. What are your thoughts on having a new QB this season after blocking for a record holder last season?
“Covington and I weren't super tight; I was a fresh rookie and I feel like some of the "vets" maybe looked down on that, for good reason honestly. This season, I've made it my goal to already establish a rapport with our new gunslinger off the field, and I think that will help translate to chemistry on the field. I have every reason to believe Peterson will be the guy to lead us to victory.”
Last season I wrote that there should be a comeback player of the year award and that you should have won it without a doubt. Is there anything you like about being the underdog
“Well, I really appreciate that sentiment, I think there's something to be said for overcoming adversity in any way possible. Obviously, it would have been ideal to never be in the position to have to make a comeback, but I think it's ultimately made me a stronger player and a more appreciative teammate. Plus, as an underdog, there's more opportunity to defy expectations.”
That Kansas City locker room was something special that is for sure
“I’m really hoping we can continue that hype and good vibes into this season!”
Absolutely. I wish you the best of luck with your first game tonight! Thank you for taking the time to do this interview
“Hey thank you so much! My pleasure; if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to reach out! Ok back to shitposting drunk on Twitter.”
