In honor of week one and to prepare for that, this is going to be my analysis and grades for the Grey Ducks performance each week of the preseason as well the ducks player of the game for each game, offense and defense. I do know that preseason strategies are often inaccurate and done for laughs more than win percentage, but im going to treat this as if it was playing every game to be their best. I was working on a bigger media where I do a recap and a grade for every team for each preseason week, I almost finished it, but had everything deleted and had to start over. I decided that I spent way to long and lost it, and so this is going to be only a recap of the Grey Ducks games. That said lets get this started!
Record 3-1
Week one
Minnesota vs Dallas
Score - 26-3 MIN
Week one grade - B+
The Grey Ducks played a great game of complimentary football in week one. Offensively they struggled a little but, but Rookie Ryan Negs looked comfortable in the pocket, throwing 11/18 for 113 yards and a touchdown. Not a bad debut. He didnt get much freedom to throw as the gameplan relied heavily on the one two punch combo of Rotchburns and Vermillion. Rotchburns led the way with 18 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown. Vermillion ran 23 times for 90 yards, but his 3.9 yards per carry was overshadowed by Rotchburns 4.9 ypc. Newton led the recieving corps with 5 catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. Maximus was perfect on special teams, hitting both extra points, and nailing each of his 4 field goals. Defensively the Ducks played lights out. Gath led the team in tackles with 9 and two pass defenses. He was followed by rookie CB Brucie, who had 7 tackles in his Debut. Free Safety Damian Blackfyre totaled 4 tackles, but topped it off with a sack, a pass defense and an interception. Chainbreaker also walked away with an interception. Otawara narrowly beat Blackfyre for defensive player of the game, with 4 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble that he recovered. The ducks defense was stout, holding Caliban 22/49 and 225 yards with 0 TDs and 2 interceptions. They only allowed Cobra Kai 17 yards on 7 carries. Overall a good performance offensively, and defensively, playing complimentary to each other, scoring 26 points and allowing only 3.

Week two
Minnesota vs London
Final score - 48-24 LON
Week two score - C-
The score this week is this high because there were flashes of greatness, in an otherwise pisspoor game. The game started off with back to back pick sixes thrown by Negs, who played a horrible game week two, throwing 8/21 for 84 yards and 2 interceptions, both of which like I said were returned for TDs. The ground game on offense was a bright spot, with Vermillian dominating to the tune of 102 yards on 20 carries. Rotchburns only ran 8 times, but got 40 yards and 2 touchdowns out of it. Again Newton led the Recievers with 4 catches for 62 yards. Despite Negs having a rough game he has an undeniable chemistry throwing to Newton so far. Look for this to improve as the season goes on.Vermillion was the star of Special teams, returning a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. Maximus was perfect again, 3/3 extra points and hitting his only field goal, a 57 yarder perfectly. Defensively the Grey Ducks struggled. Cortez threw 26/39 for 272 yards, 2 touchdowns and one interception. They also allowed Teri Yaki to rush for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries. Chainbreaker led the way with 14 tackles, with Rookie Brucie close behind with 9 tackles and a forced fumble. Gleel played his best game yet with 5 tackles, a forced fumble and 2 pass defenses. Otawara rallied for another 2 tackles for loss and a sack. While Blackfyre was a force in the secondary for the second week in a row with 2 pass defenses and another interception. A bad game in most areas to be sure, but the signs are there for improvement.
Offensive player of the game-
J. Vermillion - 20 car - 102 yards
Defensive player of the game-
Damian Blackfyre - 4 tckl - 2 pd - 1 int
Week three
Minnesota vs Tijuana
Final score - 14-8 MIN
Week three grade - B-
Rhe Grey Ducks defense played lights out against Tijuana, a tough game on the road. But the offense failed to do much in the air, relying once again on the ground game. Negs struggled against the stout Luchadores defense. He threw 10/21 and 82 yards with an interception. Vermillion was the star on offense, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Rotchburns was a great compliment to him with 74 yards on 15 carries. Tight end Ding Dong was the lead reciever with 5 catches for 45 yards. The O line did well, allowing only 2 sacks, although one of them was a safety. That was about the extent of the offensive prowess. This game was won by the defense without a doubt. The star of the show was Blackfyre who had 7 tackles, a pass defense, and an interception returned 22 yards for a touchdown. Chainbreaker led in tackles, with 10, followed by Gleel who had 9 and 2 pass defenses and Rookie Brucie had another solid game tackling with 7 and a tackle for loss. Gath recorded an interception also, capping off a solid defensive performance that only allowed 2 field goals.

Week four
Minnesota vs Portland
Final score - 23-3 MIN
Week four grade - A
The ducks played great on both sides of the ball, solid on offense in the air and on the ground, and great on defense allowing only a single field goal. Negs played a great game to end the preseason, making up for his two bad games. He threw 15/25 for 136 yards and a touchdown. Vermillion had 23 carries, running for 132 yards. Rotchburns ha 18 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown. Newton led recievers for the third time with 6 catches for 68 yards. Ding Dong caught 4 passes for 26 yards and a touchdown. Defensively Gleel led the way with 6 tackles, a tackle for loss and 2 sacks. Gath had 6 tackles, and Blackfyre had 5 with a tackle for loss.
Offensive player of the game-
M. Rotchburns - 18 car - 94 yard - 1 TD
Defensive player of the game-
W. Gleel - 6 tckl - 1 tfl - 2 sack
The Grey Ducks played pretty great throught the preseason. Offensively they did much more in rhe air than expected, and the ground game was dominant as expected. Defensively they played great, allowing more than 10 points only once, a blowout against london. But still, they had great pass rush, run defense, and pass defense. Blackfyre was tied for the most interceptions in the league through these 4 games, with Hoffman from Myrtle Beach. Both had 3 and 1 returned for a touchdown. If the Ducks continue this level of play on defense, and the ground game continues to play well, the air attack only had to do a little at a time and avoid turnovers. If they do that look fpr the Ducks to make a serious push for an Ultimini.
