Got to love the spooky season. Being a Wraith, we love scaring people. Whether it is our team mates we try to make poop their pants, or a random stranger on the street, or our opponents on the field, we love it. One of my favorite ways to frighten some peoples, is to dress up as an inanimate object and wait until they get really close and then boom! jump out and literally scare the crap out of them. Some good things to dress up as; trees, bushes, park benches, toilets, hide in trash cans, under desks, in the shower, and of course hiding in the ceiling. The referees really enjoy a good scare in the middle of a game. Sometimes I will run up behind them when they aren't looking and whisper sweet nothings into their ears. Get's most of them every time, but oddly there was one time this one ref ended up hiding in my locker after the game in nothing but his birthday suit, was really weird. Not sure where he got the idea I wanted that. As for scaring the opponents, I love to accidentally stab the corner backs trying to cover me with the knife I keep hidden in my chin strap. Luckily, it is always an accident, as I would never do anything like that one purpose. Dressing up and scaring people / partying in costume, what is not to love?
It's spooky season and Arthur Naught is in the festive spirit. Since he's new the Kansas City area, he's done some researching on what to do that's spooky and scary in the area. And as soon as he began looking into it, he heard about The Edge of Hell - a five story house of horrors that started the whole haunted house scene in Kansas City back in 1975. Arthur didn't even know that Kansas City had a "haunted house scene." According to his sources, brave souls can work their way up from heaven in the first floor to purgatory and onto hell, getting scared by the Ratman and Medusa ... an actual snake they keep that holds the world's record for the largest snake held in captivity. It's a fitting addition to the haunted house, as Arthur will be looking to also cage the Portland Pythons in hell tomorrow night in Week 10 of the DSFL with his Kansas City Coyotes. But since the Edge of Hell is nationally acclaimed and a pioneer of the haunted house format, Arthur will be heading to the Edge of Hell this Halloween, and dragging whatever fellow Coyotes he can scrounge up to come along. Gonna be creepy!

Ah Halloween, Tree’s favorite time of the year. As some people are aware, there are some hypothetical allegations that Tree is an axe wielding serial killer, but those accusations are founded on nothing. Stop asking. But Halloween is Tree’s pastime, and her favorite activity remains dressing up like her idol Jason Voorhees and going around trick or treating despite being in her late 20s and well past the age it is considered acceptable. After going trick or treating and shaking down the local neighbors for all of their Peanut Butter Snickers, Tree likes to unwind by putting her feet up on the couch and watching horror movies while her teammates hide under the covers. It’s become a yearly tradition at Tree’s house, every year the Butchers come over to watch countless horror movies until early in the morning, albeit last year there was a minor hiccup where it wasn’t entirely sure if the movie that was being watched was an actual horror movie or a snuff film from a serial killer who looks eerily like Tree. Regardless of that incident, the movie nights remain the highlight of Halloween for all of the Butchers, creating a team bonding event that unites them every year in fear of something that isn’t the wrath of Bayley or Muford.
"You relieve the same day over and over again, you kind of start to see who you really are."
The thing about Mai Fukushuu and Halloween is that Fukushuu is separated from the holiday by so many degrees. First of all, we have no clue where Fukushuu appeared from, whether she just materialized out of nothing out in the woods of Yakushima Island or was from some sort of small town. But even if she came from some form of civilization, Japan as a country doesn’t really celebrate Halloween, or at least not “spooky season” like in the West. The extent of Halloween in Japan is pretty much the thing most Halloween fans in the West hate about the holiday: It’s an excuse to put on a slutty costume and get drunk. Unfortunately, the rest of the Baltimore Hawks didn’t really get the memo about her complete indifference to the holiday. They thought that since she was continuing to wear her mask in to practice, she was in the spooky spirit. So one of the veterans on the team decided to try to scare her one day by putting on a Scream mask and waiting for her behind the corner hoping to scare her and get some sort of emotional reaction out of the stoic young girl. Luckily that veteran was a member of the practice team, so his facial fracture injury won’t hurt the team too much.

Quote:"There is no such thing as a person who can call themselves truly not lonely. There are only those who choose to hide it."
Tayshawn Crunk does not do Halloween. He claims that the candy is bad for him, which is true, and that dressing up is for “bitches”, which is debatable. He also hates pumpkins. The feel, the smell, the taste. None of them appeal to him.
This is not the full story, of course. After all, who really hates Halloween (except maybe hardcore Christian types, which he isn’t)? When he was 6, little Tayshawn begged to be allowed out at Halloween. He had made himself a ghost costume out of a bedsheet, and was super proud of it. Unfortunately, his mom was working that evening and his dad had broken his leg in an accident at work. They couldn’t take him, so he had to stay in. Young Tayshawn was having none of it. He put on his ghost costume, grabbed a pillowcase for candy, and sneaked out of his back door. He got most of the way round the block trick or treating, and had a pillowcase half full, when he ran into some bigger kids. Two skeletons and a Frankenstein. The skeletons asked for his candy. When he refused, the Frankenstein pushed him over and took his pillowcase. He ran home in his ripped sheet, upset. Secretly, Crunk is still scared of skeletons and Frankensteins, and that’s why he does nothing at Halloween. He leaves out a bucket of candy, hides under his bed and jumps every time the doorbell rings. |
