The Season 26 Draftees (so far) (part two - midseason)
Since the last updates (the standings of week 1 tpe updates processed) we saw a few more waivers joining the league. So these players will now also be included. In terms of the position switches, I have not paid actual attention, but there is one that caught my eye. The Portland Pythons Wide receiver Johnathan Smith has moved to kicker/punter. But without further delay, let's have a look at the current
TPE Rankings
When looking at the overall standings, you notice the top is really close to each other. This really shows that whoever you continue to select in your draft, you probably can’t go wrong with any of these players. Especially from pick 5 to 12, it’s only a 5 tpe difference. This class might not have the high total players, but they are certainly competitive towards eachother
Of course this is only the general overview and we also want to see how people are doing for each position. So I’ll provide an update there! The new standings also include the current position in the draft class. So everyone can see their position compared to other prospects without having to show the same information in a big list.
Defense
Cornerback
Last standings
New standings
The partyworm Slurms McKenzie holds his lead over the other cornerbacks in the draft class and that goes without any doubt. As he is blazing at lightspeed away from the others. In term of the draft class tpe he has not changed much compared to the week 1 rankings, as he falls from 29th in terms of tpe to 30th. Waiver claim Bruce Brucie passed the others as he has likely done one week of updates with a free training and an activity check. He and the others will need a lot of work before becoming a worthwhile selection in the upcoming draft.
Defensive End
Last standings
New standings:
On defensive end the chances are a big higher, while Ernest Lover and Makoto Otawara hold their ground, it is the waiver pickup Demon Jaxson who stormed the rankings. He knocks Togami 1 place down and Rogers two spots. The other riser here is Pope Francis, who has climbed to the 5th place of the defensive ends. In terms of their draft class, Lover (1 spot), Otawara (5 spots) and Togami (4 spots) lost some ground, while Jaxson is one of the biggest risers with 19 spots gained. Pope Francis on his turn also gained 4 overall spots. Rodgers has not gained tpe since the last check, so he will likely not continue to improve.
Defensive Tackle
Last standings
New Standings:
While the top 3 has not changed, they all have one thing in common and that is that they all are losing ground compared to the rest of the draft class. While their positions have not changed within the Defensive Tackle class, McFredbeard lost 6 spots, Berto lost 7 spots and Siegel lost 10 spots as a lot of lower ranked people have passed the 65 tpe while Siegel had not updated since the previous rankings.
Linebackers
Last standings:
New standings
For the linebackers the biggest change we see is that Leonard Taylor is finally showing why the Buccaneers picked him up early in the draft. While being behind Jones and McMullet in tpe the last time around, he has picked up the pace and went past them. While the difference is still small, he did had a lower starting point from the last time, so a nice jump. His jump was also good for rising 7 spots compared to his other draft class members. Jones and McMullet are also holding tight in the top, but with -3 and -5 spots respectively they have fallen a bit compared to week 1. Big Slammu and AJ Lucas both lost two spots compared to the rest, so have a bit smaller fall. After Taylor the first player to rise compared to his peers is Sarrasin, who went from the 7th to 6th linebacker as Kirkland fell off. Kirkland actually lost 1 tpe compared to the last rankings due to having updated wrong. He got audited but has not been seen since. Kirkland lost 16 spots, Tyson lost 8 spots and Maine lost 11 spots amongst the other draftees. Waiver claim Chet Larson however has made the jump from 10th best linebacker to 7th and has gained 8 spots amongst the others. A nice step forward to boosting his draft ranking for him.
Safety
Last standings
New standings:
Two new players here with Shuffleboard and John Price, who turn out to be great waiver pickups. But for the safety we can say Moe Skeeter is the big story of the season. Where he was just the third safety behind Maple and Wildstar he has now passed them a few weeks later, jumping to the 4th overall position amongst all draftees. Wildstar and Maple are still real solid safeties as well and their performance is still fantastic, but it feels like Skeeter skyrocketed to the top. McRae has remained steady in the fourth spot amongst safeties, while Jones stepped in fifth position. When you compare him to others he jumped 5 spots in total. Tony Bull has yet to be found after the draft and is in the last overall spot with still having base tpe.
Offense
Offensive Line
Last standings:
New standings:
Littlewood keeps his lead over the rest of the class, which is no coincedence as he’s the 3rd best earner in the draft this far. Alexander Franklin has likely lost some tasks here and there as he lost 11 spots compared to other draftees, but he remains the second offensive lineman in the rankings. Maiteers Rico-Shea has jumped a spot amongst his peers. He also gained six spots with the other draftees in play. The opposite goes for Laxus Dreyar, his 119 tpe lists him at 40th amongst draftees, five spots lower as the last time. Jack Cobb has also not been seen and is a member of the ‘never having updated’ class.
Kicker / punter
Last standings:
New standings:
Maximus really jumped away from the competition and a 12 point lead has been increased to a 52 point lead over the next kicker / punter. The new kid on the block is former wide receiver Johnathan Smith who moved from the wide receiver position to become a kicker. Both Maximus as Smith lost a small amount of positions compared to the other draftees. McDerpants however lost 11 spots in total.
Tight End
Last standings:
New standings:
Another take over can be found in the tight end standings. The baseball player Tom Teboat now has the most tpe amongst tight ends as he has surpassed Jaja Ding Dong. The gain of Teboat is not only noticeable amongst his position, but he also gained 8 spots amongst the other draftees. Jaja Ding Dong on the other hand has lost 8 spots in this ranking, bumping him down to the 17th overall position while he was still top 10 the last time around. It’s still good for a solid position in the draft rankings. Owmy Back has also gained 1 spot amongst the other draftees
Running Back
Last standings
New standings
Small changes amongst the running backs in the meantime. Just like the last time the top 3 looks rock solid and has an 80 point lead over the other running backs. But Rocky Jackman of the Portland Pythons did jump from being the fifth running back on the list to become the fourth. This however was not good enough to jump a spot compared to other draftees. While it are minor losses, Mr Forty-Two (1 spot), Akil Ozymandias (3 spots) and Rocky Jackman (2 spots) all dropped down a small bit. While Big Chungus dropped 9 spots. Kai took over the lead as general tpe leader amongst rookies, making him also jump up two spots in this regard. Miglasķēms had not updated yet the last time around, so seeing him at 79 tpe now has made him jump 7 spots compared to his position the last time.
Quarterback
Last standings
New standings
The quarterbacks always seem to be the hardest position to get a spot in the major leagues, so the three quarterbacks this year know they will have to step it up a notch to be able to fight for a future starting spot. This advice they have actually taken at heart as since the last tpe standings all three quarterbacks gained positions compared to their draftees. Three spots for Lebron, four spots for Ryan Negs and seventeen spots for Rune, who was claimed off waivers by Norfolk.
