Ah, the prospect bowl. We all know it, we’ve all taken part in it, but after its conclusion everyone moves on to bigger and better things, leaving it behind until the next year rolls around. The prospect bowl is quite a significant event in every prospect's career: their first opportunity to take the field at the professional level and prove themselves to be worthy of a spot on a DSFL and eventually, an NSFL roster.
I joined the league before S22, and as a result, became a member of the largest class in ISFL history. I have no idea how I did in the prospect bowl, pretty much the only thing I can seem to remember is that I was on the Indianapolis Iguanas, and that, unfortunately, we fell well short of winning the tournament. Now that I’ve been in the league for a few seasons and my first player is still going strong, I am going to go back and look at the prospect bowl rosters in order to see which team would likely take home the prospect bowl cup, if it were played again with updated TPE values and rosters. I don’t have access to the sim program, so I’ll do my best to use average TPE values and positional matchups to determine the winners.
I’m planning on splitting this article into 3 sections, with the final section including the final few teams and overall conclusions. The first couple will be long and boring, as I’ll simply be going over every single player on each of the rosters, noting down some facts about them.
As a bit of a disclaimer, I wrote a large portion of this a while back, so although I think I got most of the TPE values updated and will be sure to do so before the final article, there might be some aspects of the article that don’t make complete sense time-wise.
NGFC:
Buffalo Ramblers:
QB: Jim Waters: Starting strong here with Jim Waters! User siddhus is obviously very well established in the league, so it's no surprise that their player would still be going strong today. Jim Waters currently sits at 737 TPE and is a cornerback for Honolulu.
RB: Anthony De Luca: Our first IA! I'm sure we’re going to have quite a number of these throughout this article. De Luca earned a total of 7 TPE outside of his original 50, putting his final total at 57.
WR: William Alexander: Alexander is still going strong in the league and has accrued a very respectable 594 TPE up to this point. Interestingly, he currently finds himself on the Hahalua with his old QB Jim Waters. However, he doesn’t seem to have updated since early August, which is unfortunate given the trajectory he was on. Hopefully, he makes his return to the league at some point but if not, he should still be a serviceable WR for the Hahalua.
WR: Kevin Koh: Another IA, he was drafted by Orange County but is currently slaving away in the DSFL.
TE: Von Hayes: ⅗ so far with active players! Hayes is another very respectable player and so far has 772 TPE. He is currently the fourth highest TPE TE out of S22, which is a nice accomplishment. Now, at the time of updating this, it appears Hayes has made the switch over to the defensive side of the ball, where he is now playing defensive end. He has continued to earn at a great rate and looks like a great player for the butchers.
TE: Seth Goepferich: A pure 50 TPE IA TE. Maybe they’re just looking to give the other S22 guys a bit of a head start before taking over the league, but I’ve got my doubts.
LT: Calvin Golladay: Fair rubs for Calvin Golladay! Golladay has 612 TPE at the moment and is a solid offensive lineman for the Arizona Outlaws. He is also the fourth highest TPE offensive lineman from this class.

DT: Lee Jordan: Starting off the defense with another 50 TPE inactive.
DT: Denarius Frackle: The core of the d-line would definitely struggle if we resimmed this as Denarius is yet another 57 TPE defensive tackle.
DE: Ismael Sanchez: Ismael was one of my great teammates in Kansas City, and he was an all-around awesome guy in the locker room and on the field. He never got much playing time at the DSFL level but always stayed positive and was with us the whole time. He currently has 390 TPE and seems to not have updated for the past months. I’m not sure if he's gone completely IA or is just taking a break but he was an awesome guy so I hope he returns sometime.
DE: Jimmy Frackerson: Frackerson showed some promise early on but has since gone inactive. The most recent TPE value I can find for him has him at 118 TPE, which was about 9 days after it said he last visited the site.
DE: Ayden Bayden: Man this defense would really struggle today. Another inactive. Bayden left at 60 TPE.
LB: Raheem Bird: I was crossing my fingers for some active linebackers on this team but it's not looking good so far. Bird went IA with 57 TPE.
LB: Daniel Ross: Another IA on this defense, also with 57 TPE.
LB: Kal Solarin: Solarin actually ended up swapping over to K/P, but unfortunately retired at just 131 TPE. He’s the first player to retire so far on this list.
LB: Lloyd Collins: Couldn’t find this dude anywhere. Gonna say 50 TPE IA.
CB: Xaq Schiaparelli: Xaq was actually one of the first guys in the league I interacted with. He was in the Dallas Birddogs prospect chat with me and I remember he had a ton of beef with Zamir Kehla for some reason. I think I recall him saying a lot about how good he was going to be and all that. But, he went IA on March 12th and only had 81 TPE to his name.
CB: Kennedy Cannon: I think I underestimated how many IAs there are in this class. Another 50 TPE dude.
CB: Andrew Witten: A name I recognize! Witten is an absolute stud, easily the best player I’ve gotten to so far. He currently has 908 TPE, tied for the third-highest among S22 cornerbacks. Witten’s user, Mithrandir, is also a super great guy around the league, and he just helped launch the Dotts trading cards (which are super awesome!). Definitely the star of this defense!
FS: Hengwei Lou: Can’t find this dude either. 50 TPE IA
FS: Montgomery Burns: 50 TPE IA. Safeties looking rough.
SS: Buck Thorton: Buck was really active until the 10th of June. He had managed to get 467 TPE up to that point and was looking at being one of the top safeties for the Hahalua. Weird that another high TPE guy from this team ended up there.
K: Seth Linsey: To finish the Ramblers off we’ve got one final 50 TPE IA!
New England Atoms:
QB: Monterey Jack: Strong start from the Atoms! Monterey is currently at 897 TPE, good for third among S22 QB’s. Monty is the starting QB for the Sabercats and is having a really great year so far. He is actually leading the league in passer rating at the moment. Chances are he won't go IA anytime soon so look for him to be the leader in San Jose for quite a while.
RB: Aaron Feels: Aaron Feels is a Sarasota teammate of mine, well, kind of. He is currently playing in the DSFL. The only TPE value I can find for him is 112, so I’m assuming he went IA around then.
WR: Donovan Smith: Our first raw 50 TPE player for the Atoms.
WR: Tyler Curtis: Our second 50 TPE player for the Atoms.
TE: Donatello Arrabiata: Donatello has a nice name but isn’t doing too much in the league at the moment. He currently has 369 TPE but was last seen only on the 27th of June.
TE: Collin Miller: Our third 50 TPE player.
LT: Tommy Sacamano: Currently has 234 TPE and was a promising lineman until he went IA in May.

DT: Godrick Fallstrumm: Most recent value I can find is 79 TPE.
DT: Joe Montania: 57 TPE IA.
DT: John Nesbitt: 57 TPE IA.
DE: Deshawn Jones: Unlike his very similarly named prospect, Deshun Jones, Deshawn Jones went inactive at 57 TPE.
DE: Sandro Ryeu: Here we go! I remember writing about Ryeu in an article about the best defensive ends in the class, so I’m glad he’s still around and earning extremely well! He just recently passed the 800 TPE mark and sits at 827 at the moment.
LB: Buster Holiday: 57 TPE IA.
LB: Eugene McEvan: 50 TPE IA.
LB: Hiram Abiff: 50 TPE IA.
CB: Bo Jangles: Went IA at 115 TPE.
CB: Cadillac Harris: Cadillac Harris was a great player for quite a while until his user, Warner, went IA towards the end of IA. I was part of a GM an NFL team league run by Scorp for a little while and when I quit he took over the Texans for me. I wonder how that went.
CB: Ricky Boomhauer: 59 TPE IA
FS: Magnus Valdyr: An active player! Along with having an awesome name, Valdyr has been a very solid earner as well. He’s got 697 TPE at the moment, which unfortunately only puts him in second place in terms of ISFL players named Magnus. Still a great earner and player and will likely be around for many seasons to come.
FS: Zakary Duke: 50 TPE IA
SS: Quinn Hughes: I think Hughes must have retired at the end of S23. I found a TPE value of 401 for him but couldn’t determine if that was the end of the season or preseason value. Nevertheless, the difference shouldn’t be that great.
K: Banjo May: Kicking is going to be a bit of an issue for these two first teams as we have yet another 50 TPE IA.
New York Poodles:
QB: Haha Mango-Panda: My man Haha Mango-Panda! He’s definitely come a long way from QB of the New York Poodles. I’m not sure when he made the switch from QB to LB, but at the moment he and I make up one of the best linebacker duos in the league. He’s been an awesome teammate of mine both on the field (HahaVP btw) and off of it. I hope we can stay together in the seasons to come and that we can continue destroying offenses! Panda is also a terrific earner and currently sits with 903, making him the highest-earning S22 linebacker! He's also 4th highest overall linebacker at the moment but I expect him to take the top spot soon enough.
QB: Swift Willy: Nice name but unfortunately 50 TPE IA.
RB: Julio Tirtawidjaja: Julio is another active player for this offense. He’s managed to earn a solid 685 TPE and has become a nice running back for the Butchers.
WR: Bobby Black: 50 TPE inactive
WR: Friedrich Vequain: A nice WR here for the Poodles. Vequain isn’t the best earner by any means, but he’s still very much active and has earned 558 TPE up to this point. Maybe they took a break at some point but I’m glad they’re back to earning now.
TE: Montgomery Mantooth: 66 TPE inactive.
TE: Daniel George: Daniel George is another one of the first guys I ever interacted with here in the league. I’m pretty sure he has created only a couple of spots ahead of me and I based my update page off of his. He was also in the Birddogs prospect chat and I remember him being a very promising prospect. I think he’s fallen off now though, as he hasn’t been active since midway through June and has a total of 310 TPE.
LT: Byron Dolls: Fair rubs! Bryan Dolls would definitely be the primary pass protector for the Poodles if the Prospect Bowl were resimmed. He hasn’t been super active as of late and was last seen towards the beginning of August. He was a good earner up to that point and is still probably a solid offensive lineman for the Otters with 525 TPE. Upon coming back to update this, I’ve learned that Dolls has actually just recently become active once again. He’s at 588 TPE now and is actually on the Berlin Fire Salamanders. Perhaps leading a new team inspired him to return to the league.

DT: Anthony DiNapoli: 50 TPE IA
DT: Tony Baloney: 50 TPE IA
DT: Clayton Jones: 71 TPE IA. D-line looks like it would take a beating from a solid o-line group.
DE: Mario VonPebbles: Here's one of the stars of this Poodles defense. Pebbles has been a great earner and has remained active throughout his time in the league. So far he has 833 TPE and he would annihilate any bot o-lineman he’d face in a resimmed prospect bowl.
DE: Danielle Hunter: I guess Hunter didn't have as good a career in the ISFL as he’s having in the NFL. He went inactive with 87 TPE.
LB: Lawrence Bass: Bass is the first in an extremely solid LB core. I recall Bass going ahead of me in the S22 draft and being somewhat disappointed since I thought I could go above him. But, now that we’ve played a couple of seasons I think I was wrong. He’s out-earned me by almost 30 TPE and has been nothing but a reliable linebacker for the Sabercats. Regardless, I love all my S22 linebacker buddies. He currently sits at 887 TPE, good for second-most among S22 LBs.
LB: Raiden Briggs: 61 TPE IA.
LB: Stanislaw Koniecpolski: Coleslaw was another great S22 linebacker prospect. He was an absolute beast in the S21 DSFL season and has continued that trend in the ISFL. He’s got a nice sum of 797 TPE and, just like Bass, is definitely a super reliable LB for the Outlaws.
CB: Cody Martin: Was listed as active as of April 19th but I can't find him anywhere else. I’ll use the April 19th value, which was 83 TPE.
CB: Matt Krause: The star of this cornerback group, Krause has had a great career so far and has continued to earn while playing for the Sabercats. At the moment he has 794 TPE.
CB: BooBoo Rodgers: 50 TPE IA.
FS: A-Aron Balakae: 59 TPE IA.
FS: Joshua Vanger: 50 TPE IA.
SS: Patrick Hardy: 4th straight player under 60 TPE. The secondary isn’t looking great.
K: Jacob Small: Jacob Small! Small, not to be confused with Yellowknife’s Dougie Smalls, is a great Sarasota teammate of mine and has been a great K/P on the field as well. The Kiwi Kicker has earned 657 TPE so far and is looking to continue earning and providing Sarasota with reliability at kicker for the seasons to come.
Miami Grenadiers:
QB: Suleiman Ramza: The starting QB for the Grenadiers is none other than Suleiman Ramza. Ramza is another one of the first guys I talked to in the league. He ended up in Norfolk and I went to KC but I told him I’d keep up with how he’s doing in the league. I’ve been watching his career with great interest and next season is 100% the most important season of his young career, and potentially one of the most important in Orange County’s history, given the recent retirement of Franklin Armstrong. However, Ramza is one of the few guys I’d trust to take over that position. It’ll be tough to fill those footsteps, but I’ve got a good feeling he can do just that. With Orange County, Ramza has been a great earner while awaiting his rise to the starting job. He’s earned 866 TPE which is crazy. He was a great guy and I wish him all the best heading into next season!
QB: Colby Jack: It's almost impossible to be better than the other cheese bro, Monterey Jack, but there’s certainly a case to be made for Colby. Colby is by far the highest-earning S22 player with more than 20 TPE over Matt Cross (who also happens to be on this team). At 957 TPE, Colby has overtaken many other solid earners from seasons before S21 as well. It is crazy that the Grenadiers got two of the top S22 quarterbacks on the same team! Not sure what they'll do with them though...
RB: J.B. Apollo: Apollo seems to be IA at this point as he isn’t mentioned in the index. The most recent TPE value I could find for him is 126.
WR: Daymond Brooks: Daymond Brooks is not a WR anymore, and decided at some point down the line that he’d rather play defensive end. Not sure how easy a transition like that is to make but I think they pulled it off! Brooks currently sits at 766 TPE
WR: Susan Cash Jr.: Another really great receiver here for the Grenadiers. Cash currently sits at 678 TPE and is an active player for the Berlin Fire Salamanders. Opposing secondaries would likely be unable to stop Ramza from bombing it to either of these two guys every play if the Prospect bowl were resimmed.
TE: Brent Blackmon: Last I saw of this guy he was cut by Norfolk. Not a great sign so I think it's safe to say he was a 50 TPE IA.
TE: Zee Rechs: Rechs will really be able to carry the bulk of the tight end core, however, as they currently have 663 TPE and are an active player for the Wraiths.

DT: Deshun Jones: I mentioned Deshun Jones’ less successful younger brother earlier on, and now here is the man Deshun Jones himself. He must have swapped over to linebacker at some point, but his success transitioned over with him. He is one of the most elite S22 players in the league, with 890 TPE. This lands him in second place for linebackers from S22 and 5th place for linebackers overall.
DT: Matthew Curran: 57 TPE IA.
DT: Tristan Gronlie: Gronlie seems to have gone IA around the end of August, but only has 175 TPE to date. Not sure what happened there.
DE: Will-Barry Underground: Despite the cool name, Underground went IA with only 61 TPE.
DE: Frank Nguyen: 58 TPE IA. Not great news for the defensive line.
LB: Michael Smydzyck: 50 TPE IA, cmon, you could have at least done an activity check.
LB: Tom Thorne: Another 50 TPE IA. Deshun Jones’ experience at DT and LB would have to come into play if the Grenadiers would like to have any chance at stopping opposing offenses.
LB: Devaunte Sackpieder: From what I found, I think Sackpieder went IA at 97 TPE.
LB: Jack Banks: Maybe Deshun won't have to carry the defense all alone. Banks currently has 746 TPE and was an expansion pick for the New York Silverbacks. I pretty much only recognize this dude because he’s got a JJ Watt render. Go Texans (maybe not this isn’t our season though).
CB: Zamir Kehla: Ok Deshun will definitely not have to carry the defense all alone. The secondary already has a fantastic lockdown corner in Zamir Kehla. Zamir is at a whopping 908 TPE at the time of writing this and is a franchise player for the Outlaws. I know there have been plenty of knocks on Zamir for the personality he brings to the league, but there's no doubt he’s made up for his low draft position and has become a true #1 corner for the Outlaws.
CB: Brandon Booker: Ok I’m starting to think I was wrong about Deshun being the only serviceable player on this defense. If there's an S22 corner that can compete with Zamir for the title of “Best in the Class”, it's absolutely Brandon Booker. Booker is the second-highest TPE CB in the class, with 928 TPE. He’s also a true #1 corner for the Liberty and the Grenadiers are pretty much set against the pass with Zamir and Booker roaming around back there.
CB: Alex Ingram: Here's a 50 TPE inactive just as I thought the Grenadiers were assembling the greatest secondary possible.
FS: Matt Cross: Well the Grenadiers get right back to it here with Matt Cross! Cross is currently at 890 TPE, good for third-highest among S22 safeties. The only two ahead of him are Honolulu’s Shawn Dawkins and Sarasota’s own, Cuco Clemente.
FS: Dean Winchester: Hopefully the Grenadiers only need one FS, as they won’t be getting too much out of Winchester. 50 TPE IA.
SS: Thom Shaylor: Not much at the strong safety position for the Grenadiers either. 50 TPE IA.
K: Ronan McDonagh: 69 TPE IA. Nice.
That wraps up the first of 3 articles I’ll be writing on the S22 prospect bowl. The second will feature a similar breakdown of the next 4 Prospect Bowl squads, while the third will include the final 4 as well as an overall breakdown.
LT: BOT
RT: BOT
LG: BOT
RG: BOT
C: BOT
I know pretty much no one wants to read through all this but at least I’m getting paid.
