Remember those old changes earlier this week? Well guess what, we have new and improved changes! Let me get right into it.
The old penalty system treated GFX in a very black and white fashion when in all actuality GFX is not simple enough to allow an overarching penalty system to work. This is why the old penalty system is being removed, and we are going to handle any perceived issues on a case by case basis. We are going focus on working with the creator to improve rather than just hitting them with a standard penalty or a warning. This does not mean that there are no more penalties, just that the penalty system is no longer an overarching system, allowing for better conformity with how different from user to user GFX is.
The base pay for GFX will not be changing. We will also be introducing a bonus system. There will be a 250k bonus for high quality, and a 150k bonus for extremely high effort and creativity. These bonuses will be per piece. These will be based on the graders discretion, but believe me when I say that the graders will be unbiased when making these decisions. Although the bonus amounts may seem small, over the course of the season these bonuses will make a considerable difference for those who earn them consistently.
You may have noticed that some new subforums have popped up under Graphics. I am very excited to announce the new additions that are coming to Graphics, so let's start with GFX Contests.
GFX contests will be a weekly contest where users will submit a piece, and the community will all vote on which piece is best. Participation will get you 650k, so that someone is at least making the same amount of money that they would had they just submitted the piece as a normal submission. After the votes are tallied, there will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize. 1st place will receive 1mil, 2nd will receive 750k, and 3rd will receive 500k on top of the participation money. The exact rules will be posted in the subforum really soon, I just wanted to introduce the general concept to you all here.
There is also a new tutorials subforum. If you make a quality tutorial for the forum, you can get 1mil for it. While this may seem like a lot of money, know that creating tutorials is hard work, so that money is well-deserved. Additionally this subforum adds a place where users may ask specific questions about creating GFX. We hope that the community gets involved in helping out these users so that we can become as strong of a GFX making community as possible.
The last new thing is a subforum called "Graphics Battles." This is probably the coolest addition in my opinion. Let me explain. A user will go onto the subforum and challenge someone else to a battle. The users will completely decide the terms of the competition themselves. They will decide, themes, deadlines, rewards, and any other aspect of the battle. The community will then vote on which is better and the winner will be declared. Specifics on GFX Battles will be posted soon, I want to give you all a basic outline of what GFX Battles are.
As of now we are not going to be introducing a requested GFX section. It doesn't seem like there are enough GFX related things that one would request to warrant an entire section of Graphics. If in the future there is enough support, we might be able to work on a Requested GFX section being implemented, but again, it just doesn't seem like it deserves an entire subforum as of now.
That about wraps up the changes and additions, please discuss and feel free to ask questions! I believe that we have made changes that will really benefit the community and I look forward to the future of GFX.
