Goooood Morning ISFL land. Another beautiful Monday morning as the league meanders on into Week 8. Hard to believe the season is already half over, but time just continues to fly in a make believe sport played during a pandemic. Anyways I am broke af from casino bets so let’s break down this week’s matchups.
WEEK 8
@
If I’m being totally honest the Salamander people have been getting robbed all season. I believe it’s a pretty unanimous opinion throughout the league that they’re way better on paper than what their record shows. Orange bois have been the team to beat all season but got one hell of an upset loss from the gorilla gang. Total insanity. Can Berlin utilize their fantasy stat padder Joe Portabello to bring in the win at home? I honestly don’t think so. This has been the season of home field upsets and I feel like Orange County is out for blood and looking to seal their playoff position.
@
Oh boy a primetime matchup between two 2-5 teams! Both teams need to kick it into gear and start going on a winning streak to have any hope of making it to the post season. I expect with the season half over for us to start either seeing some wild strats as the GMs look to find any exploit they can; or for the war rooms to start thinking about tanking for higher draft picks in next years inaugural season of the new sim. Both these teams are sure as hell tired of losing though, so I predict the former. Nevertheless, I think this will be a close game that Philly ultimately comes away with. Yes, even with this season’s home field disadvantage.
@
The Sabercats wowed the league last season with their championship run, and then blitzed through the first half of this season with a nice lukewarm pile of ‘meh’. The Wraiths on the other hand are playing at home, and are sitting at the top of THE LEAGUE with only one loss. If there is an upset today I will be quite upset. Wraiths need to start voting teams off the playoff island.
@
I like Honolulu as a team, but there’s a reason why a lot of people only picked the goat Venus Powers for their fantasy teams. She’s had her work cut out for her trying to lead the team to victory all by herself. Chicago on the other hand is shoving glizzies down their gullet and showing the Bears what it’s like to have an offense. I expect that Powers will make two or three field goals while Chicago wins the game up by like 20+ points.
@
Heading into week 8, there are five teams with a 5-2 record. Austin is one of those teams. Baltimore is a little confused but showing the spirit with their 2-5 record. With so many teams being 5-2, this week is important to catch a win as teams look to pull away from the pack. I expect Austin to pull out all the stops, and come deal the Hawks an L on their home turf.
@
This is probably the matchup that I’m most excited about. As I stated before the 5-2 teams like NOLA need to win to pull ahead in their contested division. However, I feel a lot of people agree that you can almost never predict NOLA games correctly. Or... at least I freaking can’t. Then you have Colorado who has won games they probably should have lost and lost games they probably should have one. So I have no idea who to really pick here. I guess I’ll go with Colorado and see if Katarn can rally their defense to hold the fort at home.
@
Oh boy my team now. Alright let’s see I always say some mean things about other teams so what can I say about my team? Hmm. Well I’m no expert analyst but I feel like it’s really hard to win when Howitzer gets sacked literally 20+ times in a single game. Then we had another game where we beat OCO on the road. So here’s where I land. If we can protect our QB and prevent turnovers I think we can do it. Sailfish offense has been playing hot and we need to match pace. Still gotta how many my homerism though and pick my gorilla gang to take the W.
