"Hi everyone. It would be your favorite reporter, Dale Murphy. I am your favorite reporter because I tell you the info you are dying to know. And that, for you the New Orleans Second Line faithful, right now, is our report on two defensive prospects, Vincent Jones Jr. and Jonathan Shuffleboard that are playing for the Tijuana Lunchdores. But first, I'd like to mention the two prospects are not really in the same place as prospects. Jones Jr. is over 400 TPE and is very likely to be called up at the start of next season to replace Ugarth the Dissector at linebacker. Shuffleboard just recently hit 250 TPE. He is much more of a long term project. It would be a big surprise to see him in New Orleans next season, Quentin Button will most likely hold on to his third safety spot, even if Shuffleboard is a tad better due to the desire to get Shuffleboard continuous reps. It should open up for Shuffleboard two seasons from now, LiterallyJust A. Hexagon may be considering retirement due to diminishing skills by then.
So with those expectations in mind, let's dive into the two games the Lunchadores, who at times seem to be the farm team for the Second Line, played recently.
The Lunchadores came into the sim as part of a four way tie in the conference. That will probably be the closest they get to a division lead after two losses and two wins by Dallas gives the Birddogs a stronghold on the conference.
In the first game the Lunchadors played the Bondi Beach Buccaneers in Tijuana. The Lunchadores knocked off the Buccaneers in Bondi Beach earlier in the season, and of course in the semifinals last season ""Imagine beating someone so bad in the playoffs that they move to a different continent." This game was not as favorable to the Lunchadores. Bondi Beach jumped out to an early lead 14-0 and never really looked back. At half it was 27-7 and the final was 30-14.
Vincent Jones Jr. had an impressive, team leading 8 tackles, but no sacks.
Jonathan Shuffleboard had five tackles.
In the second game the Lunchadores traveled across the pond to face the London Knights. A chance to redeem themselves from the loss and stay in the playoff hunt. Sadly, the offense was unable to score, and the defense, while playing well was unable to hold the Knights down forever and tasked with a lot of short fields they surrendered 17 points in a 17-0 loss.
Vincent Jones Jr. had 6 tackles, a sack, and an early game interception on the Tijuana side of the field, not much after Boo Tee had thrown an interception in the redzone, the Lunchadores best chance to score all game.
Jonathan Shuffleboard had five tackles in the loss.
