With my recreate probably coming in later today, i'm at work and willing to answer a few hard hitting questions if anyone wants to ask me a few questions regarding anything you can remember.
Thanks in advance.
To be fair, if we exclude the game streams, it's ok. There are always users active on discord at pretty much any time of the day, i guess some NA users don't sleep. And with the amount of European/Asian/Australian people in the league increasing, it's great to see activity 24 hours. And i guess not being able to watch the streams live can be a good thing, i think i avoided a few heart attacks by only checking results during breakfast the next morning most of the times. And now with the new sim, the stream got longer, which is not very good as it normally starts at 1AM here.
I just remembered another thing now, i probably just tried to forget it because it pisses me off, is that being on GMT i always miss the league juicy drama, because apparently only US users create it. This means that when i get here in the morning, i have to catch up on a lot of stuff and sometime this info isn't even here anymore, because big dum HO deletes posts. And before i had Zamir filling in the blanks for me so that i could be up to speed fast, but not anymore! So, if any of you are reading this, be respectful of other peoples timezones when you create drama. Every once in a while, just do it at a decent time for us european dudes and dudettes.
Good question, and hard one at the same time. I guess the least favorite moment of Cue's career has to be the fact that he only got 1 playoff game. Cue had a pretty decent career as a whole, but unfortunately, due to his archetype, due to Zona being in rebuilding mode for a while, i guess some unlucky games or tiebreakers like when we got 3rd in the conference and still missed the POs (lol)... I'm not even saying i wish he could've won 3 or 4 rings, but at least raise the Outlaws profile as a playoff team, much like some other teams in the league.
Another thing that i really did not enjoy was playing in the DSFL 3 seasons. I obviously loved being in Portland and having Cue do well there was great, but at the same time, especially on my (ours because you also were S18) class, a lot of people liked to hang out and then they all got called up and i stayed behind, looking at them play with the big guys while i was grounded and had to watch through the window. Again, Portland was great, but 3 seasons of Cue's short career were not on the ISFL.
Favorite moment was when we got to the playoffs for the first time and we were all excited because we even had a home game. We had a great team, we thought we could go far and maybe create some havoc with the "regular" playoff teams, but then all the hype came crashing down as we immediately lost at home, i think to SJS.. on overtime. With a pick 6 by Cue, or he threw a pick to end the game, something like that.
On the same note, when Cue had his last season before regression, started the season at like 1370 TPE, top of his game, "this is the season", "the team is ready for the challenge", "let's get that ring", and then we got destroyed at home on the first game of the season, i can't even remember by which team, with Cue having a QBR of 30 or around that, that deflated the morale like a freaking balloon getting stabbed lol That season was freaking ridiculous, Cue had at least 3 games with a QBR below 50, while on top of his game. I guess my favorite moments don't last long and get crushed 5 seconds later.
Another cool moment was the draft night, when you're involved as a draftee, something i look forward to be a part of very soon. It was a long while ago that Cue got into the league, a lot of things are now different/changed, so it's gonna be a lot of fun for sure.
Just getting to see the game from another perspective. Being a QB is brutal, because every time you go into the index to check results, the first thing you look after the team record and game result, are the QB stats. And especially with Cue, you never knew who was going to show up, Aaron Rodgers or Nathan freaking Peterman. But after a while, i got used to it and even embraced the memes, the sim is gonna sim and there's not much you can do as a player to avoid it.
So, with my new player, while trying to max earn like with Cue, i don't think i'll be so focused on individual stats. Not that i was fixated on that with the QB, but i feel like if the QB does bad here, there's not much the team can do to be good. So i already passed the torch to Cortez, got 1 extra season out of Cue to help (and maybe get another Pro Bowl nod, wouldn't hurt). Still trying to figure out the path i want to take with Cue Jr, but i'll probably just go with the flow.
Thanks for the questions @"Laser", much appreciated
It was pretty easy, as i pretty much passed the ball to Z-Whiz and Crunk. I think Cue could have gone as a QB for another season, but i also knew that Cortez would be called up as it was his time. As leaving Arizona was out of the question, i asked them if i could help in any way to make the transition smoother for them, as a new GM pair. Offensive line was an obvious choice once we decided for Cue to stay, as every other position was well covered. With the new sim and archetypes, i just asked them to let me know what they wanted and here i am, with pretty decent stats helping Zona get to the playoffs on a 8 win streak. The fact that i can be near the top of the OL rankings is really cool, because it puts me in the running for another Pro Bowl, which can help cement Cue's legacy in the league.
I think i have said this a few times on general discord and on some private chats with users, but i have zero problems/beef with Zamir. We get along great, even when he had his sabbatical we remained in touch, so i am happy that he is back. I pushed for Zona to draft him the first time while i was a war room member and he was nothing but a great and active presence in the locker room, even when we had shit seasons. The only thing i can "throw" at him is the fact the he decided to leave Zona in FA, shortly before retiring. But he was free to do it, he was very open about discussing the situation and why he was doing it, so no bad blood there. But i still feel that if he decided to stay in Zona like he should, his CB would be balling with us, especially this season. And what a help it would be, having Kehla on the field.
So, in conclusion, not only i do not have a problem in being drafted to the same team as Zamir, i honestly hope that we indeed find ourselves sharing the same LR again.
Just to avoid repeating the same ones i wrote on the Laser question, another one of my favorite moments is happening right now, with Zona doing very well. We have a great team, a healthy and active locker room, the team is buzzing with confidence that this going to be a great year for us. The fact that we're on a 8 win streak pretty much tells us that something stupid is gonna happen sooner or later, but still, we are really having fun. It's really great, after some hard times, with winning seasons not happening a lot, to be in this position. And not only that, it's great for me and some of my longer tenured teammates in the team, to see this change in results.
I don't think i can name only one, and i'm not gonna name all of them for obvious reasons, but i'll miss every teammate i had in Zona. We had a few that came in after me and already left (you guys suck), some were already there and left after i got there (you guys suck, just a little bit less). You get the drift. Some left in good terms, others not so much, but i try to not let that influence my view of them.
Wait, i am gonna name one, because he might get the ping and update a bit more this season. Hey @"DGarrett32", get your ass in here and do an update!
Thanks for the questions @zaynzk
Oh man, this one is easy. Get on board the "Game Manager 79 speed cheese" faster. I tried way to much to make the mobile archetype work, when it clearly was too inconsistent. It showed, on the only season Cue finally changed, he did very well, so it was definitely something that could have helped him during his career if he changed sooner. Still, it was a fun "experiment", no idea about previous QB numbers, but for a mobile QB for most of his career, i think he had decent numbers.
Tks @y2bobman
I don't know if you guys do this in the US, but here in Portugal is pretty common for families/group of friends to go out for lunch/dinner to restaurants and have a decent meal. Not to chain restaurantes like Olive Garden for example, but to mom and pops place, or fine dining places. And with that meal, we share a bottle of wine (or 10) between all, to taste a few different wines. I wasn't a fan of red wine, at all, until maybe a couple years ago, but since my group of friends always ordered red and i had to drink the white wine bottle alone (ahah suckers), i decided to start joining them and tasting. And apparently my palate "changed" and i started appreciating a lot more of red wine than i did before. As as everyone on the Outlaws locker room should know by now, i like to have a glass... or a bottle... every once in a while. Since i can't hang out with friends and have them at my place to try a few, i have to endure this pandemic and do it alone, sometimes with my wife having a glass or so.
But to answer your question, i like them equally. Normally i have red wine with meats, or stronger foods, while i have white wine with fish, pasta dishes, and so on. But if i don't have any choice, i'll have whatever. I even bought a freaking small red wine fridge, to have the wine at optimal temperature. Portuguese people really do love their wine.
I remember parts of a game we had, last season i think, where i managed to see glimpses of Cue's brilliance and he had a very good game while i was enjoying a bottle, after my wife and daughter were in bed. Man, i gotta say, watching dots move around with a buzz is really something fun.
Thanks @Z-Whiz
Thanks in advance.
