Interview with Darius Severance - Safety First
Reporter: Hey Darius, it's Colin DeFranc from the New Oregonian, thanks for letting me interview you. Has training for the DSFL gotten in the way of your personal life?
Darius: I don't really feel that it has, honestly Colin, football has been in my life ever since I can remember, it's a routine, it's my life. So for myself? Football and making the draft is personal to me. Especially being a first round pick.
Reporter: Well said, training in and out to become the next top prospect can be a lot, and a lot of players don’t make it in football leagues in general. What are your goals you to be able to make it to the top?
Darius: There is no "if" Colin. I'm making it, and my goal? That's easy, to be the best, to make it to the hall of fame, and take care of my family. There’s no denying my prowess, I’m gonna make you believe.
Reporter: Sorry about that Darius, didn't mean that in a negative connotation or anything like that, but that’s good to hear. Last question, you have a rising following from your days at the University of Oregon, Championships, conference and national, and with your 3 interceptions on the best QB, anything you have to say about that?
Darius: At the end of the day, football is all about matchups. Upsets in football happen, and sometimes players have bad games, and the QB made the mistake of throwing it my way, 3 turnovers later we was holding the trophy. To my fans and everyone that follows me, keep pushin' through, strive and be determined to be the best. The strong survive, right? Go into every game as if it was your last, be like me, have something to prove. Everyone will remember the name Severance.
Reporter: I can respect that, well best of luck to you, and hopefully we do hear the name Severance sooner rather than later.
