Hello everyone,
Dotts first opened their doors to the public on 09/02/2020. Ever since then there has been over 1.6 billion dollars spent on Doots! With such a crazy amount of packs ripped into, I think it is time to decide who some of the luckier users are, and who some of the unlucky users are. The data I chose to use are from users with over 900 cards in their binder as of 03/01/2021. In the future I might continue this series, but as of now we have a total of 17 users with over 900.
They are the following:
@mithrandir
@qWest
@jeffie43
@Asked Madden
@katarn22
@shadyshoelace
@Kotasa
@ValorX77
@BigKicks
@FleshBagSoup
@Tesla
@UberBJ
@LimJahey
@terriblehippo
@Cheech65
@rapideagle
@"Laser"
@deadlunatic
Across these 17 users, is a total of 18,939 cards. If we were to divide this number into the amount of packs purchased, it would be 3156.5. The reason the number is odd is because in the early days of Dotts, duplicates were not saved, so they ended up disappearing until the coders added duplicates in the memory. If we were going off of the price of a pack right now, the total spent on packs would be $315,650,000, while the price of the cards with the original price of $500,000 would be $1,578,250,000, almost the same amount spent total on Dotts at this moment! For simplicity purpose, I'm going to be going with the current price total for when I find out the average cost of an insert. In terms of card rarity, the rarest cards to obtain are the following in order:
(Odds of pulling a card, 6 cards in a pack)
1. Hall of Fame 1/541
2. Fantasy Kings 1/169
3. Expansion Holo 1/95
4. Rookie Auto 1/79
5. Ultimus Champions 1/78
6. Awards 1/68 (so close)
7. Legends 1/58
8. Captains 1/38
If we were to follow the pure odds listed here, we would have totals like this:
Obviously, the odds are almost never spot on, not to mention since the beginning we have added new series among the timeline, like Captains, Rookie Autos, and Expansion cards. Since they were added much later in the lifetime of dotts, the numbers of them are very skewed. The actual totals looks like this:
(Ignore the mixed up representation, I also threw in Sweet-James Jones as a wildcard)
We are actually spot on for the amount of legends we should have, but every other chart is lower than it should be. Part of it is due to new additions and the changing of odds. So now lets go ahead and look at individual luck. The total amount of cards per user is listed in this chart:
The user on the list with the highest amount of cards is Laser, while the user with the lowest amount of cards is Kotasa. With each series though, the user with the most cards from that series changes from each user. If I were to list off what each user had, this media piece would be nothing but charts, I have the data for it saved though so if you are interested in what a certain user has in terms of cards or % of cards, let me know and I'll make a chart for it. For now let's stay focused on three categories: Hall of Fame, Legends, and Captains. Legends and Hall of Fame have been in since the beginning of dotts, while captains are common enough to where we have a pretty good sample size to use. The following chart compares all of the users inventory in these three categories:
That is quite a lot of data to take in. From what we can see, its clear that Hall of Fame cards are the most difficult to obtain by quite a lot, while captain cards are worth their weight in ink. The users with the most Hall of Fame cards are qWest, Jeffie43, and Laser who all have 4. The user with the most legend cards is Laser, with 23. He is followed by Fleshbagsoup, who has 22 legend cards. Finally the users with the most captain cards are qWest and LimJahey, with 24 each. They are followed closely behind by AskedMadden and Rapideagle, who have 23 each. The users with the least amount of Hall of Fame cards are ValorX77, Tesla, and LimJahey, who all have 0 total. The user with the fewest amount of legends is Kotasa with 12, and the user with the lowest amount of Captain cards is UberBJ, who with a paltry 9 cards is the only user to not hit double digits in this category. Now lets move onto the next category, the % of cards pulled.
In total, the % of inserts pulled are:
Now if we were to go into the % pulled per user, we get this absolutely monsterous graph:
That is a lot of data in there, if we were to look at some of the highlights of this graph, the user who pulls the highest % of legends is Laser, with a % of 2 even. The user with the lowest % of legends is qWest, with a % of 1.15 rounded to the hundreth. The user with the highest % of awards is BigKicks, with a % of 2.44, while the user with the lowest % of awards is katarn22 at 0.8%. The user with the highest % of hall of fame cards is Jeffie43, with a % of 0.42, while the lowest is a tie between ValorX77, Tesla, and LimJahey with 0%. The user with the highest % of Ultimus Champions is Laser, with a % of 2 even, while the lowest % goes to Mithrandir, with a % of 0.61. The user with the highest % of Holo Expansion cards is Fleshbagsoup, with a % of 1.48%. The user with the lowest % of Holo Expansion cards is Jeffie43 with 0.52%. The user with the highest % of Rookie Autographs is qWest with 1.67%, and the user with the lowest is BigKicks with a total of 0.49%. The user with the highest % of Fantasy King cards is Rapideagle, with a % of 0.54, while the users with the lowest are qWest, Jeffie43, katarn22, shadyshoelace, LimJahey, Laser, and deadlunatic all with 0%. The user with the highest % of captain cards is Rapideagle with 2.48%, while the user with the lowest is UberBJ with a total of 0.97%. Finally the user with the highest % of Sweet-James Jones cards is UberBJ with 0.22%, while the users with the lowest are Kotasa, ValorX77, Fleshbagsoup, and deadlunatic with 0%.
I've already done enough graphing for this submission, within the next week I'll submit another post with the financing of the cards from these users, using the same numbers I used here. Thank you for reading, let me know how you enjoyed it, if I messed up, or if there is a specific stat/chart you want to see!
