Hey guys and gals and everything in between WildfireMicro here with my Philadelphia Liberty game balls write-ups for weeks 12-16. I decided to just put the rest of them in here because of how few games we had left. But anyways just like the last one I will be presenting these game balls as they were first written in the Liberty locker room. But anyways without any further ado let's begin with these game balls!
Week 12:
"Hey guys WildfireMicro here and it's been a rough season will all these close losses huh? Especially this one against the Colorado Yeti with somehow throwing 4 interceptions despite a 75 competition percentage rate. I really hope things get better next season because this season is pretty much done for us. But I have a job to do and it's to hand out the Philadelphia Liberty game balls. For the Defense it will be easy because one player stepped up in a huge way. But the offense will be a bit harder because who in the offense played well in this game? The defense was the one that kept this close. But anyways without any further ado let's hand out these game balls!
Offense
Ok I was a bit harsh on the offense because besides Brock's 4 picks they played alright. But it was just alright and we honestly needed more then just alright. Special teams did help quite a bit as you will see so let's get started with the candidates:
Flash Panda: 9 catches from 11 targets for 111 yards with a long of 31 for an average of 12.3 yards per catch.
His kick returns were amazing with 77 yards from 2 kick returns with a long of 39.
Flash had a great day on both receiving and on special teams. Adding all the yards he was responsible for including punt returns he was ultimately responsible for 209 yards of moving the ball. He only missed 2 catches and definitely helped keep it close. Only thing he is missing is a touchdown but that doesn't ultimately matter with these stats.
Jake Fencik:
1/2 XP 3/3 FG
155 punt yards from 3 punts with a long of 64 yards and one of them was in the 20
A nearly perfect day of Jake only missing an extra point. He also had a massive boot of a punt with it being 64 yards. He is currently working towards a KOTY campaign and while it might be a more average day for him his massive punt brings him in here as a candidate.
And the winner is: Flash Panda! Panda was catching them left and right and his massive kick returns helped keep this game close. I am very happy to see players still playing hard despite the losses and I am very proud of Flash Panda here.
Defense:
Ok let's be honest with ourselves this one only really has one candidate who was all over the field doing everything he can to keep us in the game. Especially with the insane number of pass deflections he had. So I will just announce him as the winner and then show his stats.
The winner is: Atlas Quin! His stats include five tackles (though none of them were for a loss but honestly it doesn't really matter because nobody else got one) an insane number of pass deflections with him getting 6 of them and an interception. These numbers are pretty damn good especially with those PDs. He was basically not letting anybody get a pass and was definitely doing his job as a cornerback pretty damn well. Congratulations Quin and enjoy your game ball!"
Week 13:
"So another close loss heh. Shit happens but it seems to happen a lot to us. Oh well we are at least keeping it close and next season should be better. But anyways hey guys WildfireMicro here and I am bringing you the Philadelphia Liberty game balls for week 13 where we still didn't get any luck. But we are trying and that is what matters. We got two candidates for both the offense and defense and these players definitely deserve recognition. But without any further ado let's begin with these game balls!
Offensive
Damn offensive line Brock Phoenix got sacked 5 times! What the heck were you doing? But anyways these game balls are admittedly a bit hard to figure out as both these candidates could win in my opinion. They definitely helped us at least keep it close. Man how many times have I said that? Seems like a whole freaking lot! But anyways here are the two candidates:
Flash Panda
Perfect receiving day with 7 catches from 7 targets for 114 yards with a long of 48 yards.
A perfect day in terms of catching the ball for Panda, but unfortunately no touchdowns. I think the 5 sacks didn't help. But anyways Flash definitely had a big day here despite the lack of touchdowns and he deserves the recognition for it.
Jake Fencik: perfect day kicking with 1/1 XP made and 3/3 FG made with two of them in the 30-39 yards range and one in the 40-49 yard range
Five punts for 232 yards with an average of 46 yards and a huge 64 yard longest punt and two of them in landing in the 20
Jake is so good at kicking the ball! Another perfect day on field goals and extra points and 232 yards punting. But landing 2 of them in the 20 was amazing. Definitely a big day for him among many big days.
And the winner is: Jake Fencik! This guy is making a huge case for KOTY but his real big contribution was his punting. He definitely helped slow down the Berlin offense and this was a hard decision in the end. But enjoy this game ball Jake you earned it!
Defensive
I know I originally said that there were 2 main candidates but now as I look at the index for the game this is really a one man show. And what a man he was today as you will soon see. While this defense didn't get the 5 freaking sacks that Berlin got they played pretty good and I am proud if them. But hey since I only have one candidate for this let me just say that the winner is...
Gary Goodman with 11 tackles and a sack!
While the defense ultimately played well the stats are way more spread out except in the case of Gary. Getting double digit tackles in a game is absolutely insane and I love seeing it especially with a sack. Enjoy the game ball Gary you earned it!"
Week 14:
"Welp. I don't know what to honestly say about whatever this game was. A big old blow out where Chicago treated us like a dog with a chew toy. Just throwing us around every which way and blowing us out 44-7. The only bright spot of that game is us not getting shut out. Hey, it's something right? But anyways hey guys WildfireMicro here with the Philadelphia Liberty game balls for week fourteen of season 27 of the ISFL. I am going to try my best to look at the bright side of this and encourage us to keep doing what we need to do in order to be successful. But without any further ado let's begin!
Offensive
Well 7 sacks definitely didn't help us win anything. I know Chicago has a really tough defense but still. It was an extremely rough day for us but I still need to award a game ball and I will be picking from 2 candidates. Hopefully I can bring some happiness to us with this despite the bad day.
Jake Fencik: a total of six punts for 319 yards with a long of 65 and 2 of them in the 20
Basically he had to punt. A lot. Since we only scored a single touchdown he didn't get much of any kicking stats except for a single extra point so this is all about his punts. Still a good day punting for him.
Killian Chambers: 7 receptions from 8 targets for 93 yards with a long of 40
Killian tried his absolute best here. He only missed one catch and nearly went for 100 yards. This definitely deserves some praise and if luck was more on our side he'd at least have one TD.
And the winner is...Killian Chambers! This man was a bright spot on a rough day and I am happy to give this game ball.
He also had a pancake.
Defensive
Again it was a very rough day for us, defense being no exception. We did have an interception so that is something to note. And hey we sacked O'Donnell! Someone put him into the dirt. We also have a tackle for loss in the stats. But anyways let's hand out these game balls, we have two candidates as well here.
Thomas Rose: 8 tackles with one of them being for loss and a psss deflection
Tackles for loss seem to be a rarity for us unfortunately, but still Thomas Rose needs some recognition here. He was all over the field with some impressive stats giving the circumstances.
Matt Cross: 5 tackles with two pass deflections and an interception.
He is the only player on our team with a turnover. And O'Donnell had an interception while Phoenix not having one so that's something. His two pass deflections are also pretty good.
And the winner is...Thomas Rose! It could have been ether one of them really. So this was a hard choice but in the end I chose Rose because he was more all over the field. Congratulations and enjoy the game ball!"
Week 15:
"Finally! A win! After 4 losses in a row (including being destroyed by Chicago last week) we finally have another win! I am very proud of all of you, even if it does affect our draft position. But anyways hey guys and gals and everything in between WildfireMicro here and I am here to hand out the Philadelphia Liberty game balls for week 15! The two winners will honestly be pretty obvious so this will be a short one but without any further ado let's hand out these game balls!
Offensive
Like I said the game balls for this week will be pretty obvious in the end. The winner this week had one of his best games all year this week and helped us to a big win! Though I will give a few shout outs to Jake Fencik for being perfect on the day once again and 2 punts inside the 20 and to the receiving core for having a big day. But anyways let's get to the winner!
And the winner is...Brock Phoenix! With a 75% completion rate and 2 TDs without throwing any picks Brock had a huge day. He completed 21 of his 28 total passes for 232 yards and practically couldn't miss all day. Congratulations Brock and enjoy this game ball!
Defensive
A big day for the Defense overall but this one is obvious as well. This man had one of the best defensive performances I had ever seen and probably the best defensive performance from any Liberty player all season. I will give a shout out to Inspector Deck (I cannot spell how his name is actually spelled unfortunately but it is based on the rapper from the Wu-Tang Clan) for getting an interception. But anyways let's hand out this game ball!
And the winner is...Thomas Rose! He had an amazing day with 5 tackles and an unprecedented 2 sacks and an interception! He also had a pass deflection. He was all over the field in this game and I am extremely proud of him. Congratulations Thomas and enjoy this game ball!"
Week 16:
"Well here we are. The final game balls of the season. And we finish it off with an upset win over the Yellowkinfe Wraiths and knock then out of the playoffs and made Rusfan thank us which is rare heh. But anyways hey guys and gals and everything in between WildfireMicro here with the week 16 Philadelphia Liberty game balls! There will be only one candidate for offense and he will be getting a special game ball presentation but for defense it's a bit harder. But without any further ado let's begin with these game balls!
Defense
Holy moly can I just award this one to the whole defense?! Holding the Wraiths to just 10 points is amazing in my eyes and all of you deserve praise. I am not joking when I say I seriously considered just handing this out to all of you. But someone has to win this and admittedly it's a bit hard looking over the index deciding who wins but I will give props to Thomas Rose and Atlas Quin for getting the exact same stat line of four tackles and a pass deflection. But this has to go to someone and the winner is...
Jimi DeSoto! With seven tackles and a tackle for loss he was all over the field and scored the only tackle for loss in the game. His performance was amazing and definitely helped keep the Wraiths offense down. Congratulations Jimi and enjoy this game ball!
Offense
This game ball will go out to a very special player who had his final game be an absolute banger. He deserves all the praise I am about to give him but for everything he has done for this team I am awarding a Golden Game Ball to...
Brock Phoenix! With an amazing stat line of 26/32 passes completed for 233 yards and three TDs he definitely deserves the game ball this week but let me explain what to a Golden Game Ball is. This Game Ball is awarded to those who truly represent the franchise and will only be awarded very rarely by me. I am extremely happy to hand this out and I hope he enjoys. Thank you Brock so much for all you've done and I wish you the best of luck in the future. Keep rising like a Phoenix you mad lad!"
It has definitely been a season of ups and downs for us but I hope better days are ahead. And I really hope Brock Phoenix enjoys his retirement and I wish him luck in the future. May freedom ring and I hope to see you all on the field soon!
