Hey guys and gals and everything in between WildfireMicro here with a very special interview media. I went ahead and asked @"ShnarlyDude" @Jimi64 and @"Punter715" a few questions so they can reflect and look forward to what the Philadelphia Liberty has been doing and what they will be doing. We will be posting thier answers one by one so without any further ado let's begin!
Jimi:
How has this past season turned out vs your preseason expectations?
That’s a bit of a complex question for me. I’ve always been super optimistic about my team’s performances in the league, because I think it’s fun that way. I like to hype myself up and have positive energy about everything that happens in this league. It can be easy to get wrapped up in some negativity about the sim or sometimes things that a user said. So I suppose although I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed with 6-10, I feel more “Aw shucks” about it. It’s pretty much what was expected, but I think everyone in Philly understands the bigger picture, so nobody is taking a losing record harshly. As far as individually, my stats this season were seemingly less impactful than past seasons with Philly, and I sort of blame the sim change for that. With the changed archetypes and all though, I do have more room to improve my stats than I did before, so I definitely have the opportunity to grow and become really elite, along with all of us other S25 guys on defense, like Doy Fieri, Gary Goodman, Tex Wrecks, and Honky-Tonk Haywood.
Who has truly broken out this past season?
It might be rare to answer this question with a kicker, but boy did our man Jake Fencik have a season. Blew all the other kickers out the water. He’s got a golden leg. He’s done well up to this point, but this was different. This may not necessarily be a break out but our wide receiver Killian Chambers has consistently outperformed expectations being the WR2 behind Flash Panda both this season and last. He continues to impress me. To be honest, I don’t really keep up with other teams that much, and specifically the stats of players on other teams, so it’s hard for me to say who other breakouts were. I’ll a shoutout to Ace Savage, Guunar, on the Otters though. My guy went straight up to the big leagues after one year and is destined for greatness.
How do you think the DSFL prospects that are coming up next season will perform?
What’s exciting about this season of Philly’s call ups is that we’re really starting to see the fruits of Philly’s new wave. Calling you up, Tsuyu, really completes our wide receiver corps and shores it up for the future when eventually Flash Panda starts to slow down. Borgo San Lorenzo is the spiritual successor to long time tight end Avon Blocksdale. Then of course we have Ryan Negs, who is taking over the on-field leadership from another Philly legend Brock Pheonix. Call ups tend to go through some growing pains, which is understandable. It takes some time to acclimate to the ISFL. With the way all these players have been showing out in the DSFL though, I have high hopes for all of them. Outside of Philly callups though, look out for players potentially coming up from Norfolk this year, like Bean Beanman and Candice D. Fitinyomouf. Both are studs on the defensive line.
What is your favorite non-Philly render?
This is a good question, and it’s not an easy one. Of course my friend SchwarzNarr has Melvin Murder-Moose, which is fantastic not just because it’s a moose, but because of the lore behind the moose and his personality. Storytelling like that is unfortunately not very common in this league, so I enjoy that. Interesting fact about me though is that in general I’m not a fan of non-football player renders. Otherwise it takes a little bit of the real football league roleplay fun away from me, but it doesn’t really bother me in an important way.
How much do you think the team has improved since the season before the past one?
A complete turnaround is usually an impossible task, and I believe what everyone is seeing the past few seasons is a team that is getting incrementally better every season. We got more wins than last season and the locker room and culture are popping. I wonder a bit if the transition from Phoenix to Negs might give us some growing pains next season, but after that I think you’re going to continue seeing that constant progression once again. Although Sam Torenson and Fuzzy Dotson did well on the ground for us this past season, having Darrell Williams in the backfield this season has been fun to watch. The dude is a beast, and I’ve seen some really awesome plays from him this past year. Looking forward to seeing what he can do again this year, especially since we might be leaning on the run game a little bit more.
What is your hope for the future?
My hope for the future is that the players that come here, from the draft or from free agency, come to enjoy the place as much as I am. I know everyone wants to win and it can be hard to be patient and build something in a league, but the fact of the matter is that we’re having a lot of fun while the pieces are coming together. It’s our responsibility to show people the big picture and give them a space where they’re comfortable, where they can be themselves, and where their enjoyment of this league doesn’t have to be tied to the sim. It’s also my hope, and I think this has already been achieved somewhat, that users around the league begin to view Philly as a solid institution that takes care of its users and Is rising to the top. Frankly, we lost our respectability for a bit a few seasons ago, and I want to be a part of bringing this team from the bottom to the top. We’re on our way.
Hypothetically if you had to rebrand the Liberty What would you rebrand as?
I remember there was some chatter and kidding around about if we win the Ultimus then we’re rebranding to a Moscow team and basically becoming the opposite of the patriotic American Liberty team. I think a Russian team would actually be pretty dope and has opportunities for great branding. Maybe something like the Moscow Brown Bears? I think Russia has a lot of bears.
Who are your favorite Philly users?
Oh man that’s tough, I like so many. I mean J0EB is my best friend in the league. He’s just an awesome guy that I’ve gotten to know outside of the league. The older vets that were here when I showed up are great like Juni, Simon, and slm. I think at this point everyone knows Pat and Cody are wonderful. I have a great relationship with them both in a friendly way and when it comes to them respecting my opinions about the direction of the team. Super attentive and hard working GM’s. Of course the younger users like you and Negs have been great additions that are doing a great job building our culture. Finally, I haven’t known him that much, but I know I’m going to love our new addition Hordle.
Any final words?
I always enjoy reflecting on where we’ve come from and where we’re headed. Thanks for the interview!
Pat:
How has this past season turned out vs your preseason expectations?
I did come into Season 27 with a little higher hopes, but at the end of the day we improved our win total over that of Season 26, so I can't be too disappointed. We have grown as a team, and I think the reputation of Philadelphia as an organization has improved around the league.
Who on the team has truly broken out this past season?
Jake Fencik hands down had the biggest breakout season for our team. He went from a solid kicker in Season 26 to a favorite to win Kicker of the Year in Season 27. He has been a fixture on special teams for our franchise and I expect him to keep being a star for the rest of his career.
How do you think the DSFL prospects that are coming up next season will preform?
Philly will be in a unique spot next season having three offensive players starting as rookies. I fully expect them all to have solid rookie campaigns, but I believe there will most likely be some growing pains as they continue to earn and develop.
What is your favorite non-Philly render?
Dorothy Zbornak for the New Orleans Second Line, without question. The Golden Girls is one of the best TV shows ever.
How much do you think the team has improved since the season before the past one?
Our team has improved in many ways since then. We're brought in a number of strong, active users, and hope to continue rebuilding through the draft. Philadelphia also has one of, if not the, best locker rooms in the entire league.
What is your hope for the future?
To win an Ultimus.
Hypothetically if you had to rebrand the Liberty What would you rebrand as?
I honestly haven't thought about it. I love the Liberty branding too much.
Who are your favorite Philly users?
All of them!
Any final words?

Cody:
How much do you think the team has improved since the season before the past one?
It's no secret Philadelphia had some issues prior to S26. We were slated to be at the bottom of the league, which we ended up being finishing 2nd worst in the league at 4-12. The main goal was to fix the culture a bit and try to retain talent. We had a good offseason and have built a solid roster. We improved by 2 wins in S27 and are trending in an upward direction. There isn't reason to believe we can't finish with a winning record in S28 and beyond.
What is your hope for the future?
We build a destination in the league. We want users to want to come to Philly. It'd be great if we could throw in a couple Ultimius championships as well.
Hypothetically if you had to rebrand the Liberty What would you rebrand as?
I wouldn't venture to far from the Liberty motif as it's embedded in the city's history. I would think the Freedom or the Union would fit in perfectly.
Who are your favorite Philly users?
As a GM I'd prefer to skip this question.
Any final words?
The future is looking bright here in Philadelphia. It's been a couple seasons of growing pains but it feels like we're turning the corner. We're on track to be a fixture in the playoffs for many seasons to come. RING THE BELL!
Now it's time for Me:
How has this past season turned out vs your preseason expectations?
Honestly I was paying a lot more attention to the Royals then the Liberty but I think if the Liberty's luck was a bit better in a few games we would have been at least playoff bound
Who has truly broken out this past season?
The kicker Jake Fencik by far who should win KOTY
How do you think the DSFL prospects that are coming up next season will preform?
That's hard to answer tbh. I think we will be going through a lot of growing pains but I think we will slowly but surely get better
What is your favorite non-Philly render?
Honestly Melvin-Murder moose
How much do you think the team has improved since the season before the past one?
I think we are slowly becoming respectable again and free agents are starting to notice us
What is your hope for the future?
That we keep on growing and keep on getting better
Hypothetically if you had to rebrand the Liberty What would you rebrand as?
I mean I like my idea of Louisville Spirits but Jimi's Moscow idea is good too
Who are your favorite Philly users?
All of them lol it's hard to choose to be honest they are all amazing
Any final words?
The Liberty are on thier way so watch out! RING THAT BELL!
Well this was an interesting time picking these guys brains. Jimi especially was very insightful. I hope you all enjoyed it and I hope to see you all on the field!
