Not a big article with a lot of explanation this time but I did want to put out one hastily thrown together mock changing some of my picks. In case anyone is wondering, I did not catch any leaks. I'm sure that will be very obvious in a couple hours.
Pick 1 Busch Goose - RB
Same as before. Still other possibilities but this is still most likely
Pick 2 Luke Quick - WR
Same as above
Pick 3 Dexter Hall - LB
OCO could go WR here or trade back. They shouldn't go WR because of depth at that position but could happen. No change here.
Pick 4 Anton Bruckner - CB
"Wait, did Gragg actually change anything or are they just trying to cash in?"
Pick 5 Xavier Walls - LB
Ok, first change. I am very uncertain on this but I think my previous pick is almost certainly wrong. Mongo could go here as it fills the DE need that I had them previously covering. Mongo's relative quietness on discord makes me wonder how GMs will evaluate them though. Should still be a first rounder but Xavier Walls is a great pickup here as well. Berlin at least seems to think they need an LB from what I've heard. They also think they need a safety urgently but surely they can just grab one later?
Pick 6 Manhattan Project - RB
Another change and another low confidence pick. None of the picks I think make sense so I'm differing to what the vets say is the best locker room fit. Could definitely be a position switch as well. Previously I had Mongo here which would definitely be a good pick but I'm again wondering if Mongo is as quiet as I think or if they're just chatty in places I don't see them.
Pick 7 Mongo - DE
Previously I had an OL going to SJS. I do think that's possible but between a good DE now being available and SJS's history of not drafting OLs, I'm switching this pick. If this is wrong I blame voiceless.
Pick 8 Prof. Godfrey Gravity - DT
No change here. Just seems like a super solid pick and I don't think anyone above will go for a DT first.
Pick 9 Glenn Smart - DE
Call it a gut feeling. the holes left for AZ after FA make this pick look logical. Only question is if they fall this far.
Pick 10 Tim Soulja -S
I know it's a hot take and could break my mock but I'm sticking with it.
Pick 11 Juno Hu - CB
One of the hardest picks to mock and there are a lot of hard picks to mock. Juno is a 1st round prospect and I think NOLA would def snatch them up if they fall that far. Looking at the board and seeing what's left though, Juno makes a lot of sense for COLO here. That is unless they can find a first round player able to step in for the line. Also a high chance of a position switcher or trade here I think.
Pick 12 Saleem Spence - WR
No big positions of need are available at this point but some awesome WRs still are. Going with Saleem here.
Pick 13 Bender Rodriguez - TE
Probably hoping Juno falls to them as its a pipeline fit and a position of need. Instead they may grab the top TE in the draft? I do think Bender goes a little higher than I previously mocked and this would be a sensible landing spot. Only question is if Shrub is good enough at interviews and NOLA good enough at scouting for everyone to realize this is a good spot. (in other words, my mockings not wrong, your drafting is wrong )
Pick 14 Romulus Roman - S
This one is a huge leap from my last mock. I think (but don't actually know) that Romulus is open to position switching. After FA the Sarasota offence is loaded. Romulus could slot into any number of defensive spots for Sarasota and there's a good user behind the character too.
With all that being said I am less confident in my mock than ever. I have all kindsa intel, FA signing, trades, rosters, cap space numbers that I'm looking at and the pieces don't quite fit together. This is why I need to be drunk before mocking.
