Well it's been a while. The last time I wrote an article was... January 17th. This combined with the fact that I have more than 10 million dollars worth of dotts means that my bank account is kind of hurting, and I need to buy ~~food~~ training, who needs food? So I'm writing one of the most creative pieces known to man, a dotts pack opening article. You're welcome
Opening my first pack (using animated view of course) the first thing I see is a gold Busch Light. Not a bad start. but behind it I can see two reds and a blue card peeking out. The two reds are Rando Cardrissian, a season 21 running back for the San Jose Sabercats, and Axel Hornbacher, a season 12 CB who used to play for the Hawks. The blue card is Quenton Bode, a polar bear and season 15 Second Line Linebacker who I've definitely heard of before. Pretty good first pack if you ask me, two reds and just the fifth blue I've ever opened.
Pack two is also not bad, but not crazy. The top card is my teammate, BamBam McMullet, and other than 3 bronzes and another silver which is only slightly discouraging, I see a holographic card, although unfortunately not the one with my player. It's a stinky player from the New York Silverbacks, some lineman something or other named Douglas Quail. Still not too disappointed, it's only my third holo card and he's number 69, which is pretty nice.
The first thing that loads for pack 3 isn't the top card, it's something in the back but I can tell it's definitely red. Now let me tell you, it is taking a long time for these cards to load, so it must be something good. Either that or my wifi is potato. Probably both. Finally they've loaded, and it must just be my wifi because there's not much good. The red is Chad Pennington from the Sabercats and the rest of the cards are either bronze or silver. The only names I recognize in the mix are Richard Littlewood and Ben Alexander-Arnold
Pack 4 has another red in it, this time James Cho from the Yellowknife Wraiths. Other than him there's not much to talk about, just two golds from seasons one and two, two silvers from seasons two and season 22, and another Alexander, this time of the Blake variety. This pack is pretty disappointing other than the Cho card.
I get another holographic card in pack 5, this time from the Berlin Fire Salamanders (aka best team ever), and it's wide receiver Susan Cash Jr. The other cards, similar to last pack, are nothing special. A gold Tre'Darius J'Vathon from the Sarasota Fishe, Tubby Tim's new player, a season one bronze player that nobody's ever heard of, and another silver and bronze card to add to the collection.
First thing I see in this pack is another bronze Blake Alexander, the very same bronze from pack number 4. Then more cards start to load, first a blue Walt Green, season 15 safety who used to play for the Baltimore Hawks, then the bronze card of Adrian Pitcher. And then BAM Dermot Lavelle Jr. season 24 Returner of the Year card, the first awards card pulled of this media. The other two cards in the pack are bronze, Thomas Kane III and Juan Andres.
Other than the 4 bronze cards, pack 7 isn't too bad. None of the bronzes are from past season 12 either, so I don't recognize any of them. The other two cards in the pack are a red Trey Staley, a Sabercats safety and another red, Matt Cross, a player I've actually heard of on the Philadelphia Liberty. I kow reds aren't exactly the rarest cards but as long as I get cards better than gold it's fine with me.
Only one red in pack 8, Orange County Otters Wide Receiver Bradley Westfield (wonder who that could be). Alongside him are two silver Baltimore cornerbacks, Juan Marston and Arbin Asipi III, two other silvers, Brice Boggs from the season 3 Yeti and Buster Bawlls, a Silverbacks running back. The sixth card is the bronze Ash Saginaw, from way pack in season 3.
Finally, some good fucking cards. I get the one and only Slate Patterson, Sarasota Cornerback, and the Suleiman Ramza captain card for the Otters. the other four cards in the pack consist of a gold, Jorel Tuck, and three bronzes, Jaylin Hobbs, Odell Marrett, and Franch. If only Franch was actually good . Super top heavy pack, but I definitely prefer it to the constant churning of reds I've been getting.
Time for pack 10, which means an Ultimus pack. Right away this pack does not disappoint. Melvin Murder Moose Defensive Rookie of the Year card s25? pog. Heath Evans red card? pog. Only those two in the "interesting category though. The other four were some Gary Goodman guy, George Wright Jr, and two bronzes that maybe a few people remember from back in the day.
Back to the base pack for pack 11, and it's just as good as the ultimus pack. Austin McCormick captain card for the New Orleans Second Line, and a blue Nero Alexander, which I feel like I might already have. Other than that I add three more bronzes to my collection, and another George Wright Jr card. That's back to back packs now.
Pack 12 hits me in the face (in a good way) with FANTASY KING Michael Witheblock, Sarafisha Sailsota wide receiver. I'm starting to think that ultimus pack was lacking a little bit. Also in the pack are two red cards, Leeroy Jenkins, current wide receiver for the Colorado Yeti, and Deon Taylor, former cornerback for the NOLAs. Just to average it out, the final three cards are all bronzes.
Three bronzes to start off pack 13, Lindarious Shelton, a season one linebacker, running back Borro Gore from the Wraiths, and cornerback Stanislaw Maddox, also from season one. Also in the pack are two silvers, a Ludicolo Bigsby which lowkey scares me, and Thubba Bumper. What's the sixth card you ask, it's a red of course. Eli Kamaka, a season three defensive tackle who played for the Liberty.
Just as I thought pack 13 was bringing me back down to earth, 14 hits me with a Brock Phoenix season 25 captain card. That was the only thing worth mentioning in the pack, but I'll mention the others because I want more money. Three silvers, Zack Skinner, Armor King, and Jonathan Rice, as well as two bronzes, Franklin Townsend and Riles McTackle, the tackle. Also holy cow NOLA is blowing out OCO wtf.
Speaking of OCO, I get the red version of Suleiman Ramza, the second variety of him I have. I also got their running back, Bronko Mills, who's unfortunately a bronze. The other bronze in the pack is another Odell Marrett, and I also got my teammate Derek Wildstar, Net Gaines the Copperheads wide receiver, and NYS safety Big Bob Roberts.
I get another BamBam McMullet card in pack 16, except THIS ONE'S THE ROOKIE VERSION POG. Also in the pack is Tyrone Biggums, an Otter, and a blue card btw. Why are these packs better than the ultimus pack smh.Aside from them I get three silvers, Orien Drake, Vincent Jones, and Water Chestnut III, and the bronze of Danny Methane.
Pack 17 time, only three more until the second ultimus pack. This one has Tree Gelbman, Chicago tight end, and Mervin Leonard, Wraiths cornerback and both red. I also get the most iconic kicker in the league, Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname, from the Otters, Terry Taffy, former Hawk, and two bronzes whose names I do not want to spell right now.
Pack 18 starts off with a red Gunner Thorbjornsson, the guy who lowkey took my job in Arizona, Reg Mackworthy, a season one gold also from the Outlaws, three bronzes including my new favorite name Sardine Bean, snd the silver Geykume Stokeley, another Arizona player.
One pack away from the ultimus and I get an ultimus card. Is this setting me up for disappointment? Who knows. Season 27 champion Demon Jaxson the Sailfish defensive end is now in my collection. Also added are the gold card of Wraiths receiver Mark Walker and four bronzes, from four different teams who play four different positions and were drafted in four different seasons.
It's ultimus pack time part 2! Starting right off with NYS safety Big Bob Roberts. A repeat. Good start pack. Unfortunately the rest of it isn't much better. There are two reds, Ben Slothlisberger, NOLA QB, and Brian Mills, ex-NOLA LB, but that's pretty much it. The other three cards are my teammate Ananda Adyan, former Austin kicker and hater of the charity team Saba and I GMed Alfredo Crisco, and Jordan Danvers, a season 3 bronze.
The non-ultimus packs are just better for some reason. Two reds, Kolby Deringer, former Sabercats linebacker, and Kwame Abayomi Mbanefo, former Baltimore Hawks defensive end. A gold too, just like the last pack, Robby Rainey from the Wraiths, season one quarterback Logan Noble, and two bronzes, Raheem Okusi and literally Alvin the Chipmunk.
What is it with these packs and red cards? I get another red in pack 22, Butchers offensive lineman Julio Jones. This can't be normal surely. The other five cards in the pack aren't much though, two silvers in Michael Tillman and Thomas Rose, and another three bronzes added to the ever growing collection, Cole Walker, Chester Sweets, and the Donatello Arrabiatta.
The next pack starts off with a bronze and two silvers, Desta Danger, Godfrey King, and Ricardo Sandoval, and then gets better. First a gold, Jordan Andrews, Monke cornerback. Then, a blue. Defensive tackle Otis Allen from the San Jose Sabercats. Then, even better. Season 24 Linebacker of the Year awards card, Derred de Ville. This card is pretty poggers if you ask me.
Pack 24 has, you guessed it, another red card. Sarasota wide receiver Rayne Gordon is now part of my quickly growing collection of red cards. Not only is there Gordan, but there's the blue card of Yellowknife Wraiths legend Jonny Snuggles. Apart from those two there's New York wide receiver Harley Fank, and three bronze cards that I don't feel like naming.
Halfway to the next ultimus pack, and I can't wait for it. Number 25 contains HECKING POG CARDS. Wolfie McDummy MVP season 24 awards card, AND Albert Ruschmann rookie signature card in the same pack. How can it get any better? (plot twist it doesn't) the other 4 cards are two bronzes , a gold, and another Gekyume Stokeley silver. Still a great pack though.
Pack 26 goes back to the reds again, this time with linebacker Brach Thomaslacher from the Austin Copperheads. Oh. Actually, there's two reds. The other one is Dick Wizardry, season 12 defensive tackle from the Yellowknife Wraiths. Also in pack 26 is Mike Kaarpasi, Baltimore Hawks defensive end, and three more bronzes.
I got really worried that pack 27 was going to hate me. The first four cards that loaded were three bronzes and one silver, but the last two cards made it ok at best. I got a gold Jonathan King, which honestly just reminds me too much of when Danny King used to vulture my touchdowns, and, of course, another red card. This time it's Daymond Brooks, defensive tackle from the Chicago Butchers.
This next pack has minimal improvement from the last one. In fact, there's no improvement. Three bronzes again, Tycker Om, Johnson Harding, and Rock Hardshaft. This time there's two silvers instead of a silver and a gold though. Mattress Cadaire, Arizona OL and Jacoby Clay, Sailfish wide receiver. Another red card too, Tyler Montain on the Copperheads.
One pack away from ultimus part 3 and I get three bronzes two silvers and a red card again. If this was soccer I'd be out for the season geez. The bronzes are still as obscure as ever, two of them are from season 1. But the slvers at least I know, JJJJJJJJJJJ Jaymison and Jaja Ding Dong. The juicy red card is Darren Smallwood, a season two running back from te New Orleans Second Line and also a holder of many rushing records if I'm not mistaken.
Finally we have made it to the third and final ultimus pack of this media piece, and it's...... underwhelimg ree. the best card is the blue version of Immanuel Blackstone, a Colorado Yeti defensive end, but I already have him in my collection. the next best cards are the two golds of Albert Ruschmann, a Yeti cornerback, and Captain Rogers, a running back for the New York Silverbacks. The other cards, in case you were wondering are all bronze, one of them being another Sardine Bean (pog) another being a season 1 quarterback named Josh Bercovici, and the final one being Joey Sachs, a season 12 defensive end for the Colorado Yeti.
It seems I'm still below the 2500 word count needed for the bonus, which means you guys get a bonus, in packs. It's pack 31 time, just for you guys. I think it's no surprise at this point that I got another red, Orange County Otters linebacker Deshun Jones. There is also another Jacoby Clay in this pack, which I'm pretty sure makes three for just this media. The other four cards are all bronze, including a season one kicker and linebacker, a season 4 defensive end, and the one and only Arthur Naught, Yellowknife Wraiths wide receiver.
Pack 32 is finally something good. it started off like the other packs, with the bronze card of Copperheads kicker Leo Bloofield and Orange County defensive end Bobby Boucher, upgraded to the silver of Hawks wide receiver Mario Messi, and still got better. Two golds, Asher Montain and Adam Mellott, of the Honolulu Hahalua and New Orleans Second Line, respectively, and then jumped straight up to the rookie signature card of the San Jose Sabercats very own Raylan Crowder.
Pack 33 has to be lucky, it has a double number right? Right?! Yep. This one only has two bronzes, Odell Marrett again and Alezander Selich, the silver card of OCO linebacker Jaylen Storm, a Copperheads Jack Rambo gold card, a red (of course) card from the better Montain brother, Tyler, and an awards card. Which one? Season 26 Pete Plop Miller's Defensive Tackle of the Year awards card, that's which one.
Last pack, number 34, so hopefully it's a good one. Surveying the cards it's mediocre at best. The best card is red, Brandon Booker, a cornerback for the OCO, then the gold card of Zapp Brannigan, a San Jose tight end back in season 9. The final three cards are a silver Bubba Nuck, silver Mike Rotchburns, and bronze from running back Fast Boija.
In conclusion, I get a lot of red cards. At least I think I do. Looking at my collection I have more than 40 of them. I also have three Tree Gelbman cars, two bronze and the red I pulled earlier. Still no hall of fame cards so hopefully I can get one in the next media piece whenever I need money next.
Opening my first pack (using animated view of course) the first thing I see is a gold Busch Light. Not a bad start. but behind it I can see two reds and a blue card peeking out.
