Let's do a little positional rankings for however many of the positions I can make it through before I get tired of typing.
Let's start with the Quarterbacks, since there aren't as many of them as other positions.
Quarter Backs Rankings - As of Week 11 -
1.)Mattathias Caliban - Hard to argue with this one, leader in yards, second in completion percentage while throwing the most attempts, touchdown leader with a reasonable amount of picks on that number and third in overall quarter back ratings. All of this with throwing the most. Everyone knows they are going to throw the ball, and he is still the hands down leader at quarter back so far. There are still plenty of games to go, so this race isn't over yet, but the clear favorite for quarter back of the year.
2.)Nick Kaepercolin - I have him ranked as number two due to his stats. While he is not the number two guy in terms of yards, he is third, he has way better completion percentage with similar touchdown to int ratio and a very close overall rating to the number two guy. So, I think the 5% higher completion percentage gives him the slight advantage over O'Donnell. Granted I have him ranked fourth in this ranking, but I do value efficiency at the position. Just throwing a lot does not equal a higher ranking, it can help though. Great quarter back play, much improved from last season.
3.)Suleiman Ramza - This one may be the first surprise of my rankings, but I feel like Ramza is having a very good season so far. Has a higher completion percent on more throws than O'Donnell, but for less yards. Which just means Ramza relies on the long ball less than George does. High completion percent, a good overall rating, and a very solid touchdown to interception ratio.
4.)George O'Donnell - He is second in yards thrown, but only eighth in attempts. So, that equals lots of long throws. Which I am not trying to punish him for, but as of right now, the way I look at it, he is a little bit behind both two and three on this list. If he continues throwing well, he could by the end of the season jump past both of them. He has a lower completion percent that all of the three guys ahead of him, the closest one is almost four % ahead of him. His touchdown to interception ratio is right in range of the the two quarter backs ahead of him in this list, but all three fall behind Caliban.
5.)Charlemagne Cortez - I have Cortez ranked pretty high due to how well he takes care of the ball. This quarter back has the highest rating of all quarter backs, while being one of five to have under four hundred passing attempts on the season. So far, Cortez has thrown for over 3100 yards on 391 attempts for 22 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. All of this with a rating of 103.4, which is almost two full points ahead of the only other quarter back with over 100 rating on the season. All it would take is a couple of really good games for Cortez to move up a couple of spots.
6.)Colby Jack - He is having another solid year at quarter back. Not as good as his last couple of seasons so far, but still a top six performance after eleven games. He has the sixth most yards with a 92.7 rating on the season, with twenty one touchdowns and only eight picks. A good year for most quarter backs, but for him, I would call it a slightly down year. Still got some games left in the season, so let's hope for some big games.
7.)Ben Slothlisberger - Ben is fifth in yards thrown so far. I have him a couple spots below there due to his low completion percentage and a lower quarter back rating than anyone else on this list. He has thrown the ball a lot and missed on a good number of this throws. He also has an ok touchdown to interception ratio. Not a great season, but certainly not a bad one. I did rank him above the two below due to the fact that he has thrown for that many yards and only thrown nine picks as of week eleven.
8.)Monty Jack - Monty has the second highest quarter back rating in the league with a solid 66% completion percentage. On top of those stats, he has thrown 18 touchdowns and only five interceptions so far. That is very impressive, granted he hasn't thrown a lot of balls compared to others, when he throws he is very very good at getting it to his own team.
9.)Jackie Daytona - I have Jackie a few places higher than his yards would suggest he should be. He has a solid completion percentage, a good quarter back rating, while also managing to throw 18 touchdowns and only six interceptions. Once you get down to the bottom half of the list it gets a little harder to really separate these guys out with similar stats.
Honorable mention goes to Ryan Negs, rookie, who is the lowest rated quarter back on the list. But for a rookie he is doing pretty well with a 69.7 completion percent, his biggest negative is he has thrown eleven touchdowns and eleven picks, but in a couple of seasons, he could be a solid quarter back in the top half of this list.
Running Backs Rankings :
1.)Tatsu Nakamura - I feel like this is an easy choice at this point in the season. The league leading rusher by over 150 yards, while having the second most attempts, but still averaging 4.9 yards a carry. Also has the second most touchdowns on the ground with fourteen, only one behind the leader. He is currently the only running back with over one thousand yards. Tatsu also has one receiving touchdown to go with the 255 yards through the air. The only running back who really is close to Tatsu in the rankings is the second place Chan, who has one more touchdown but quite a few less yards so far. But the sim do sim sometimes, so I wont rule it out just yet.
2.)Raphtalia Chan - Again, I think this is a simple and easy choice for second place. Hard to argue with the touchdown leader with fifteen through only eleven games, while also sitting in third in yards with 857. Let's be real, these top two have put up tons of touchdowns, they combine for 29 total tds on the ground, with each adding one in the air as well, so 31 total touchdowns for them, yep crazy. Chan has also added 381 yards in the air and that one extra touchdown so far. Possible to catch up and pass Tatsu for the number one spot, but will most likely have to rely on lots more touchdowns.
3.)Zoe Watts - I think three is also pretty obvious to me, I do think there is a larger gap between three and two than three and four. Zoe was predicted to have a good season this time around, as all three of the top were expected. Currently Zoe sits in fifth in yards and fourth in touchdowns, with ten tds and 805 yards on the ground. Zoe also has 226 yards from receiving. Overall, a really good season through eleven games, will be hard to move up without some absolutely epic performances in the last few games.
4.)Darrel Williams - Personally I think Williams is just a small step behind Watts right now. He sits in third in touchdowns with twelve on the ground, and seventh on rushing yards, if he can bring up the rushing yards a bit in the rest of the games, he could definitely pass Watts on this list. But if they both go at the rate they have been, then I think the yards lead that Watts has is just not overcomable. That being said, Williams is having another good year rushing the ball. He also has the second highest yards per rush out of any one with a significant amount of rushes.
5.)Captain Rogers - I have him here due to the sheer fact that he is second in total yards with 908, the only person over 900 other than Tatsu. His biggest issue is that he has a super low yards per carry. He does have six touchdowns on the season so far, which is good for tied somewhere in the top ten, but a good bit below the top people. Going down the yardage list, it takes all the way down to a rookie running back, mister Goose himself, to find someone with an equal yards per carry of 3.8 per. But again, the yards do matter. He does have 284 yards receiving too add to it, but no touchdowns.
6.)Joseph Petrongolo - I think you could argue for him to be higher than Rogers, but Rogers does have a lot of yards. He is a solid receiving back with 405 yards in the air, no touchdowns. He is sitting in sixth in yards rushed for, with an average of 4.8 per carry. He also has eight touchdowns, which puts him in fifth for most rushing touchdowns. If he keeps this pace up, I think he would end ahead of Rogers on the season ranking. But at this point, who knows what will happen. Rogers has the yardage lead, but Petro has the touchdown lead and the receiving lead, if he snags a few touchdowns through the air....
7.)Jamar Lackson - Lackson is a hard running back to truly place on this list, as one we know what he is capable of, and two he does have a good number of yards, he is just missing out on touchdowns. He is fourth in rushing yardage with 815 yards and the big issue, only two touchdowns so far on the ground. That hurts a lot for ranking purposes. He does have 259 receiving yards and three touchdowns through the air to bring his total to five touchdowns, which does help save him from falling any further down the list than that.
8.)Richard Gilbert - Mister Richard is a good pass catcher apparently, totaling 318 yards and three touchdowns through the air. On the ground he has put up 626 yards rushing and five touchdowns for a total of eight. Solid stats, nothing groundbreaking at the moment. But a top ten back for sure, which is impressive when so many teams seem to have multiple really good backs.
9.)Acura Skyline - The biggest thing that struck me about Skyline is his yards per carry average of 5.7 yards per carry! That is tops in the league by quite the margin. He currently sits at ninth for 604 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, adding another 119 receiving yards and two touchdowns bringing his total to seven touchdowns in eleven games.
10.)Madison Hayes - Hayes has 344 yards in the air and two receiving touchdowns. On the ground Hayes has only 450 yards, but seven touchdowns on the ground, bringing the total to nine. The main reason I picked Hayes for the tenth spot, oh that is right, a rookie putting up good numbers deserved to be mentioned.
For this article, that is all I have. I will be doing one for Receivers and Tight Ends, most likely sometime tomorrow. Stay tuned or something
