Candice D. Fitinyomouf @TheRealMazatt
Fitinyomouf has a steady preparation to be hot and ready for game days. It’s not easy being a slice of the defensive pizza that is Austin’s D-line, and keepin greasy is a big part of that. On game-days, no showering. The only facilities allowed would be the sauna. Candice’s pepperoni-laden skin is slick and hard to grasp for the other team’s o-line, allowing him to take an upper hand in attacking the ball carrier. Some might call this illegal, but it would be like banning sweating for other athletes. It isn’t Fitinyomouf’s fault that he is born from pizza parents.
In terms of preparing himself fitness wise, the cheesy DT has a pre-game stretch routine. The Crusty Crunch to touch his toes. Box Jumps where he works on grip by grabbing pizza before dropping, and jumping on them to get the boxes into an easily recyclable state. Finally, the Mozza Mix-up is the send off boogie that keeps Candice loose, and ready to tackle the field. It involves the burnt-cheese stanky leg, the grease sprinkler, and many more fun moves.
Friedrich Vequain @Sutj
Contrary to some players, Austin tight end Friedrich Vequain doesn't have so many rituals pregame as he isn't a very superstitious player. However, that doesn't mean that Vequain doesn't do any preparation. The day before the game, Vequain will wake up and spend up to six hours in the facilities training, whether it be in the gym, working on his blocking, or running routes and improving his pass-catching ability. After that, Vequain will go home and typically spend around two hours studying film on the next opponent. He focuses on the defensive line and the linebackers, because Vequain prides himself in his blocking ability, and needs to be able to read their weaknesses and what he needs to do to beat them in pass protection, as well as in the run game, ensuring maximum pancakes. He also spends a lot of time studying coverages and the overall defense, as to ensure that he is still a threat in the passing game, he needs to know the weaknesses of the defense, as he isn't as blazing fast as some of his teammates. On game day, Vequain doesn't actually do any preparation until he walks into the locker room. All of the preparation needed was done the day before, and he likes to spend the time for the game doing anything except football. This could be spending time with his family, going out with his friends, or maybe even watching a movie. He believes that taking his mind off the game for a bit and not overthinking things helps his performance, as it helps him to enter the game with a calm and collected mindset, instead of stressing.
Connor Quiqley @WhatAmUs
Connor Quigley starts his day by waking up at the absolute most latest time that is humanly possible. He sleeps for exactly one hour and forty five minutes each night, and he does not dream. When he awakes, he is screaming and thrashing at unknown and non-present assailants. His eyes are bloodshot, sunken, and wide open. After taking two hours to get out of bed, he army-crawls to the bathroom, where he does normal-people bathroom things. After staring into his own reflection for any number of minutes or hours, he leaves the bathroom, having never turned the lights on. He retreats to his bed for three more hours of cycling between doom-scrolling Twitter and ugly-crying. For breakfast, which can happen at any "time" of the day (time is in quotations because Connor Quigley has evolved beyond perceiving "time" in a linear sense), he eats a glass of milk and drinks what scientists would like to call "bacon", but cannot for legal reasons. This breakfast occurs between four and ten times over the course of three hours. After breakfast, Connor turns every light on in his "apartment" and stands in every corner of the "living room" judging the distance between pieces of "furniture" with his eyes tightly closed. He then does push ups and sit-ups until he projectile vomits his breakfast like a disgusting Pokemon. After his workout, he sits at his laptop and looks at the stock and crypto market. The lines, as always, are inconspicuously even; never faltering. Regardless, this act takes several hours, until satisfaction is reached. Now, after a whole routine, Connor Quigley is finally ready to don his outside clothes and take one hundred and seventy extremely short steps towards his front door. During all of this, in the world outside his domain, thirty minutes has passed.
Tomage Mcgullager @Philliesphan96
When Tomage McGullager wakes up in the morning the first thing he does is read over the ancient oracle text that predicted him to be the savior of the National Sim Football League (now the International Sim Football League). This ancient oracle text was believed to be about the young prospect out of Wyoming, Delaware. Since making his debut in the Developmental Sim Football League, it has become glaringly obvious that this text is not about him. So McGullager reads this text every morning to remind himself of what he is supposed to be and where he fell short to motivate himself to potentially salvage at least part of the prophecy. After reading over these ancient prophetic words, on game days, Tomage will do a mini work out doing 50 push ups, 50 sit ups, and 50 pullups, then will head downstairs for a large breakfast. Tomage will typically have 2 eggs, 3 strips of bacon, 4 sausage links, 2 glasses of orange juice, 3 slices of buttered toast, and 2 pancakes. Tomage will then watch game tape of the receivers he will be covering later that day for about an hour. This game tape watching often overlaps with breakfast as well. After watching the game tape, Tomage will load up his backpack with the equipment needed for the day and a 50 pound weight. He will then run the 5 mile trip to the stadium. Tomage does have a car, but only uses it one very long trips. Once at the stadium, Tomage will take this 50 pound weight and do some curls. Usually about 25 per arm just to warm up. Tomage will then get dressed for pregame warm ups and workouts and join the team for their pregame schedule. After field warm ups when the team leaves the field, Tomage will always take an additional lap around the entire field, sprinting the last half. Many say Tomage's mediocre performance on the field is due to this massive work out prior to the game that wears him out and makes it so he can not perform at top performance. Tomage disagrees and says that this large workload is what allows him to play at top performance.
Hamish MacAndrew @IthicaHawk
How does Hamish MacAndrew prepare for a game? Well, the process really starts the morning after the previous game ends. Hamish first sits down and watches the film of the last game, making notes on important plays that both went well and didn't go so well. It's important to do this soon after the last game so it's fresh in his mind. Usually this results in some things to focus on during training for the week and prep for the next game.
As the next game gets closer, Hamish makes sure to spend some time at MacAnBrews. Relaxation and de-stressing is important as a professional simulation athlete. The ability to enjoy a great craft beer, chat to some friends and generally forget about simulation football for a few hours really helps clear his mind. The day before, Hamish visits his trusted barber who has been shaping and maintaining his beard since his days at the Birddogs. You can't play well with an untidy beard and only a select few are granted permission by Hamish to work on his.
At this point it depends if it's home or away. If home;
Evening before, a good meal is prepared by Hamish himself for him and his wife. They spend some time together, relaxing and unwinding. At this point, all prep that can be done, should be done so a good night sleep is important. Early to bed, early to rise on game-day. A quick and light morning workout followed by a carefully brewed artisan coffee to start the day.
Hamish then sets off for the grounds. He always drives the same car, the car he bought with his first paycheck when he was drafted into the DSFL many years ago, a Silverstone Blue E39 BMW M5. It's been fully restored and refreshed. A modern classic for sure. Hamish, a fan of autosports, has a number of cars but he never drives to the grounds in anything other than this particular one. His pre-game hype playlist is organized such that this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYtGl1dX5qI) is always playing as he is pulling into the car park.
Arriving at the grounds, it's time for the meeting with the coaches and the defense. Once that's done, the most important ritual of the day takes place: the pre-game shit. A full 20 minutes is allocated to this. His teammates know not to disturb him during this.
Finally, as he reaches the locker room to get ready for the game, he has a quiet 30 second reflection and then dons his gear. It's game time.
If it's an away game, it's mostly the same except Hamish likes to ensure he tries different foods, especially local specials to get into the mindset of that area. Regardless, he always brings his own coffee. The hype playlist is listened to on the team bus to the grounds via noise cancelling headphones.
Brach Thomaslacher @RDBSouthPaw
Brach Thomaslacher has a very unique way in reach he prepares for every game. It all starts from the moment he first opens his eyes in the morning. Brach always has the same breakfast on game days, 2 eggs cooked over easy with a side of grits and bacon. He considered that to be his good luck meal and he would never consider having anything else. He then proceeds to have a nice easy workout, nothing too strenuous just something to wake up his muscles and make sure that they are ready to play in the coming game. He always likes to get to the field early so that he can just put in his headphones and listen to some of his favorite songs. Brach is a very quiet guy before games and he is always making sure to minimize any distractions. He wants to make sure his full mental focus is on the game and never wants to look back and think about what he could have done differently to prepare. Really, when it comes to pre-game rituals as long as Brach can keep distractions away and always remember to put his left cleat on before his right then he is normally very happy with his preparation!
