A charity that I would most like to work with would be Autism Speaks. Autism seems to be something no one knows about until they are forced to, for example they have a child, or another close family member that has autism. I personally have a daughter who was diagnosed as having severe non-verbal autism. Im not going to lie, until I was told my child had autism, I didnt really even know what autism was. Sure I had heard statistics and heard of it before, and references to it like "on the spectrum". Unfortunately the world of autism is unlike any thing i have ever encountered in my life. Yes the "spectrum" can cover a lot of situations and circumstances, from being like my daughter where they dont speak (even though her and I speak all the time. If she doesnt trust you, she will not show you what she is capable of) and are considered lower-functioning, all the up to someone having aspergers where the individual is considered higher functioning and usually are extremely gifted in mathematics. I would support this charity because I dont feel good knowing theres people out there uneducated about autism and they believe a lot of misconceptions of the disorder, as I once was. I know one thing though, my daughter and I have a special bond...a bond that is unique and for this, I would never change her. Some days are really hard, and you want to cry and scream and maybe even just run away, however those days arent as often as the days where she is super affectionate an super happy. Those days make the other days well worth with. If you dont know much about autism, i would definitely urge you to educate yourself, and be part of the solution.

Without a doubt, Honky-Tonk Haywood has a passion for music. It’s a defining characteristic of the big fella. So it may come as no wonder that HTH has partnered with Charity Music – whose mission is “to collect used instruments and refurbish them to give to children and other individuals.” Specifically, Haywood will be working with the charity to distribute instruments to Philadelphia youth, with an emphasis on country and blues-related instruments.
While Philadelphia is a vibrant and multifaceted city, Haywood has expressed concerns about the length of time he goes in hearing a fiddle or banjo since he left Nashville. When reached for comment, Honky Tonk Haywood was quoting as saying “hey man, if I can’t go home to hear some good southern tunes, then damnit I’ll bring them to Philly. I’ll get these kids a taste of what real music sounds like. Hmm…and while we’re talkin about taste, maybe I’ll find a charity for bbq smokers. Teach these kids how to make a brisket too.” Since the partnership, Haywood and the charity have provided 67 guitars, 45 amplifiers, 23 drum kits, 19 harmonicas, 14 fiddles, and 1 banjo to kids across the greater Philadelphia area. Haywood said he will not rest until a group of local classmates form a band and win a rock and roll or country battle of the bands.
Darren Pama's charity of choice would be La Casa De Las Madres, a local homeless charity in San Francisco. He still has a long lasting connection to his hometown, and wishes to work on one of its largest problems. San Francisco has thousands of homeless people, and all too often the only response from people in power is "they're dirtying up the place" and not enough effort is made to actually give them housing and shelter. They see the problem of Homelessness, and try to blame it on the Homeless themselves. Besides straight up working for La Casa De Las Madres, Pama would also (anonymously) donate a large chunk of his bank account into building new housing and getting it to the homeless population and lobbying to overturn the building laws that have helped make the homeless situation so terrible in California. Although to be frank, sometimes it feels like no matter what you do it's hard to overturn the terrible course that has occurred over the past few decades.
That being said, this question has been extremely weird to answer for me the past couple of seasons. To put it simply, I feel that charity is both not all that effective and all too often used as a way for the literally too wealthy to obtain ethically people in the world to get a pass for the awful deeds they do and did to gain and maintain that wealth in the first place.
The first charity that came to the mind of Ryan Negs to work with was the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or ASPCA for short. Negs is extremely passionate about animals and making sure that every possible animal finds a great home for them. As someone who has and fosters many rescue dogs, it has always been important to Negs that animals never go through life having to face neglect, abuse, or anything of the sort. In order to help the ASPCA, I think Negs would love to be a part of or start different adoption drives around the country that would attempt to help past abused or neglected dogs find a home that will love them forever. Another thing Ryan Negs would do would be to be hands on in going around the country possibly or the area on calls of neglected or abused animals and get into the mission and really be a part of rescuing the dogs. For Negs, the desired result would be to rescue or find a home for even one dog that would make their lives so much better. At the end of the day, it is just important to eliminate animal abuse and cruelty in the world and to help each animal be in a better place than they were the day before.
