I dont know why I am doing this again, I already failed at this last season (I was way too scared to check how I did, so I am assuming I just did bad), but with 2x media being announced while I was writing this, it gave me enough motivation to go and finish this. As usual, while I did do this in the hopes of being accurate, considering this is the DSFL draft, a big part, is just to encourage first-gens, since its always nice to have an article about you. If you aren't picked here, its more likely cause I am dumb and didnt realize how good you were, rather than your fault, so don't be too discouraged.
Round 1
Pick 1.1 | Norfolk Seawolves | Squidward Tentacles | @terriblehippo | Wide Receiver
The first overall pick this time around, will be Squidward Tentacles from user, terriblehippo. Hippo is a former ISFL HO member, and just in general has got very involved in the league. Was a waiver pickup for Norfolk as well, which leads me to think that they will also take him with their first overall pick, this time around.
Pick 1.2 | Dallas Birddogs | Ricky Stanzi | @Ry_ | Quarterback
Pretty early for a quarterback early, but with Joliet Christ Jr. being called up to the ISFL, the Birddogs need someone to fill into the spot right away. Ry_ is the big name recreate quarterback in this draft class, and until this first season goes by, is probably the easiest to trust out of the many quarterbacks created in this draft class.
Pick 1.3 | Kansas City Coyotes | Jason Garciaparra | @Starboy | Defensive End
Last season my mock draft for the DSFL was very heavily dependent on what the DSFL team's old GM/players were, and counting on the fact that they would be returning. I tried to not focus too much on that this season, but I think Starboy to Kansas City is a pretty easy choice, as well as in general is a good user that would go first round anyways, normally.
Pick 1.4 | Minnesota Grey Ducks | Vincent Sharpei Jr. | @Muford | Wide Receiver
Another one of the recreate picks, already I feel like Ive messed up, since there is usually a top first gen going top 3, but my knowledge of this class is pretty limited, so I feel like going with the safe pick makes sense. Muford is the old GM for the Chicago Butchers, who have a pretty publicly-known connection with the Grey Ducks. The Grey Ducks really have don't have too many positional needs from my eyes, other than wide reciever, so I think this is a good pick.
Pick 1.5 | Bondi Beach Buccaneers | Konstantin Selich | @Tomen | Defensive Tackle
One of the older players, Tomen has been here since Season 1, and has been consistently making really good players. This Plus the fact that he has been really active in the rookie discord, makes me think that he will be a top pick this draft. You can't ever really go wrong with Defensive Line, and Bondi Beach only has two defensive linemen on the team, 1 if Mongo ends up being called up this season.
Pick 1.6 | Portland Pythons | Nick L. Back | @Zoone16 | Tight End
Another of the older users, got a chance to talk to them a few days ago. Portland has been a team that loves its passing game, with LBJIII, Jay Cue, Franklin Armstrong, and all those names coming from there. Panda McKyle has a chance to add onto that, so they will be trying to surround him with as many weapons as possible. They have no tight end, so Nick L. Back would fit right in.
Pick 1.7 | Tijuana Luchadores | Sheriff Woody | @TomHanks | Linebacker
The DSFL commisioner, not much to say here. But his last player was Forrest Gump, who also ended up in Tijuana, and is still constantly active there. While they do have enough linebackers to survive, I think that they can't hurt by getting another defensive piece onto the team.
Pick 1.8 | London Royals | Miles Weperom | @"YellowBear" | Safety
I already know this whole mock draft is wrong, considering the first first-gen pick is at 8th overall, but I think this particular pick makes sense. "Yellowbear" has been pretty active in the London Royals, seems to be enjoying the environment there. He was a waiver pick up for them, and usually teams trust their waiver creates more, when drafting.
Round 2
Pick 2.9 | Norfolk Seawolves | Calvin Hobbes | @krazko | Wide Receiver
Finally can get into a nice run of first gens, krazko is another of the SHL members, but he has been active in the ISFL Rookie Discord, and seems excited to get started. Think that type of personality would fit well into Norfolk, a team that also 0 Wide Recievers on their rosters.
Pick 2.10 | Dallas Birddogs | Jason Waterfalls | @JayWhy75 | Safety
Smh my head, SHL takeover still happening, and this is no different. Dallas has always had the connections to the SHLers, so it makes sense to take Waterfalls here. Especially since they took a quarterback in the first round, they will look towards making a defensive selection now.
Pick 2.11 | Kansas City Coyotes | Andy Fantuz | @Lowlycrib | Wide Receiver
The Kansas City Coyotes and San Jose Sabercats connections is real, and longtime Sabercat, Lowlycrib has recreated, and he could go right into the Coyotes lineup straight away. The connection along with the fact that KCC has not shied away from taking known user recreates early, with infinite, bigred, bayley, etc being taken all to the Coyotes. They also only have one wide reciever on the team, so the positional need fits as well.
Pick 2.12 | Minnesota Grey Ducks | Dee Walt | @TheCC | Tight End
The only Minnesota GM & current Chicago Butchers GM, normally I would have predicted them to go in the first round, but since this seemed like a more fun option, I went ahead and put them going to Minnesota in the second round of the draft instead. Even though they already got a recieving option in the first round, I think this will happen anyways, and should work out.
Pick 2.13 | Bondi Beach Buccaneers | Bernie Sanders | @caltroit_red_flames | Offensive Line
The founder of the "fair rubs" movement, it is fitting that they ended up recreating as an offensive linemen again. Having a fairly successful O-Linemen, they know the details on how to make a good one, and a Bondi Beach team that I could not find too many needs for them, so it makes sense for them to take an Offensive Linemen early.
Pick 2.14 | Portland Pythons | Ioe Torrent | @Skindog44 | Defensive End
At first I did not recognize this username, but then after some investigating, I realized that there discord nickname was different than their site username (different username gang ) . But as I have said for a lot of these players, being active in the rookie discord, is really the easiest way for you to be recognized, and they have been asking for help, which is always a good sign. You can never have too many linemen, so Portland add him to their roster.
Pick 2.15 | Tijuana Luchadores | Tron Carter | @Revolution5 | Running Back
One of the recreates, actually one of the old Orange County Otters GMs, it makes sense that they go in the first two rounds. Tijuana has 0 runningbacks, and 1 wide reciever, so they are largely lacking on offense, and Carter will be a good player to takeover for DSFL MVP Lonnie Jackson.
Pick 2.16 | London Royals | dont draft | @Unicorn | Linebacker
Another one of these old GMs, interesting that last draft was made up of all the current ISFL GMs, and this draft we have a ton of the old GMs. Both of Arizona's GMs were from London (Z-Whiz & Crunk), and to my knowledge still are helping out over there, so it makes sense that they would draft someone they are familiar with, in Unicorn. Unfortunately will be drafted smh.
Round 3
Pick 3.17 | Norfolk Seawolves | Dorfus Jimbo Jr Jr | @ScorpXCracker | Kicker/Punter
We all know Scorp, technically the person that got me into this league, but he is the old Norfolk GM to my knowledge, who led them past the bot team days, so it is fair to assume that he has some love for the team. Even as a kicker, I think it makes sense for him to go 17th, and it helps that Norfolks kicker will be going up to the ISFL right away, which leaves an opening there for them.
Pick 3.18 | Dallas Birddogs | Savior Hawkins | @SaviorHawkins | Cornerback
Cornerback is a position that can control the whole defense, with an active earner, and Savior Hawkins has been getting involved everywhere. I know for a fact that he has already finished his wiki point task as well as his rookie point task, so his TP levels will be going up. 100+ messages in rookie discord already, I could easily see him going higher, but I will place him over here.
Pick 3.19 | Kansas City Coyotes | Dominos Pizzaman | @MattBake12 | Defensive Tackle
Lots of the options are starting to go away, so around here, the draft became, people I have not had the pleasure of seeing yet, but have been on the site within the last 2-3 days. Can confirm that Kansas City likes Dominos, so it should be a good fit. But, Defensive Tackle is a position with not too many players, so that will raise their draft stock.
Pick 3.20 | Minnesota Grey Ducks | Fuzzy George | @goodfortunecoffee | Safety
One of the first names thought of when you think fullback in this league, their player Fuzzy Dotson played fullback for the Liberty. They have recreated, and now as a Safety, they should have a good stock, and while Minnesota has some Defensive Backs, I have a feeling that both painted and Gragg will be called up to their respective teams, leaving some space for Fuzzy George.
Pick 3.21 | Bondi Beach Buccaneers | Bradley Welch | @Dolphins | Wide Reciever
Actually someone that created on the same day as I was writing this article (yesterday) and they have already comfortably created, as well as getting a twitter account out, to have that consistent earning to be happening. I have a good feeling about them, so hoping they will stay active!
Pick 3.22 | Portland Pythons | Owen Reed | @NylarthePhoenix | Cornerback
Recreate that went inactive on their last player, but they look to be back, and I think end of the third round is a pretty fair assessment for them. Portland does have two really good cornerbacks, but I think this is the best way to go for them.
Pick 3.23 | Tijuana Luchadores | Rex Crenshaw | @Tacoshoppe | Tight End
Tacoshoppe is a perfect name for the Luchadores and can fit right in, but more than that, with how many Tight Ends have been there in the past few seasons, it is hard to determine the right fit for new Tight Ends. Tijuana does have a Tight End from last season, but I think that with the lack of Wide Recievers, one could end up playing WR w/o any problems.
Pick 3.24 | London Royals | JJ Jay Jay-Jaymison Jr | @"DGarrett32" | Kicker/Punter
Complete full circle pick, its perfect. The old London Kicker looks like they will be called up to go and replace JJ Jay Jay-Jaymison in Arizona, who is this current user's old player. And now it makes sense for the Jr, to go and replace the old London Kicker.
Neat picture of my spreadsheet if you want a quick look at it:
