Icebear: Alright.. Today I’m reaching out and helping out a current prospect and a future Hall of Famer, Sal Ami. Sal, I’m so happy you decide to take this step and give up the old Scranton paper grind and make your way onto the field.
Sal: Thanks for having me here today. I couldn’t be more excited. It was tough leaving the paper business, but there are a lot of pages in the book of the big Sal Ami. And I am ready for the next chapter in my life. The chapter titled, football.
Icebear: Book on the big Sal Ami... seems like this needs to be right next to 50 Shades of Grey on the shelves. I’m gonna just wait until the movies come out. You gonna star yourself or who is gonna be playing that role for you? I think it’s gonna be a pretty short list for actors that’ll properly be able to show the 450 lbs college days and then rep your 250 current weight. This has to be a Jonah Hill role right?
Sal: You know that is a great question. I think I would have to star in it as myself. I love hitting the buffet so I think I could put on the pounds easy. I think starring in my own movie would also help increase my monthly OnlyFans account subscriptions as well.
Icebear: OnlyFans. I mean you have the name for it. Moving on, feel free to hit me with any questions as we go through this but I’m just here to get you some money and show people the true Sal Ami. I feel like this could get me on some predator list with all the Sal Ami talk.
Sal: Yeah sometimes it can be awkward during interviews being called the big salami. But, I didn’t give this name to myself so it’s something I am proud of.
Icebear: I’m scared to ask who did give it to you. Alright question time, let's start with an easy one, how are you here? What was that deciding factor? Did you know what you were even getting into?
Sal: Everyone knows paper sales is a tough business. But I thrive on challenges. While weighing my options to stay with my paper career, or go pro, I had a friend reach out religiously to me about living up to my full potential. My football potential. So after talking with him over the last month, I decided to pursue my football dream. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but hope to make an instant impact once I get on a team.
Icebear: It’s a bit of an unknown how things are going to work until you really get into it. So far what is the coolest part about the league? Toughest or most confusing part?
Sal: The people are the coolest part! I’ve been a big fan of your work on here as well. It is inspiring and I’m honored you chose me for an interview. The most confusing part has been just getting started. I’m getting better each day though!
Icebear: It takes a minute to get use to things but once your in the grove it is pretty simple. I know you were a little late to the party but did end up getting some scouting in. What are your thoughts on this?
Sal: I’ve had some good conversations with teams lately. It’s been a lot of fun. Anxious to see who wants to take a slice out of the big Sal Ami.
Icebear: Yeah maybe pitching a slice is better than all at once. So Tight end… gonna be a competitive position. One per most teams and we had five in the first two rounds this year alone. Ever thought about trying to spread it out a little at WR? Would you miss that battle in the trenches too much?
Sal: You know one thing teams are impressed with is my ability to gain and lose weight. I went from 450-250 in college. So I can be pretty versatile depending on needs. I’d love to be a WR though. Can you imagine the TD celebrations that could take place? How many defensive backs could tackle a 250-300lb receiver?
Icebear: That’s alot of meat barreling towards those endzones.
Based on nothing but logos, where does Sal Ami wish to land? (You’ve already been drafted I’m sure, so this shouldn’t affect your draft stock). Your choices, alphabetical…
Bondi Beach Buccaneers
Dallas Birddogs
Kansas City Coyotes
London Royals
Minnesota Grey Ducks (This is the correct answer)
Norfolk Seawolves
Portland Pythons
Tijuana Luchadores
Sal: I’d love to back you and say the Grey Ducks, but that logo may need a little work. It’s a competitive field of logos but I have to go with the SeaWolves. I’m a wild man myself and it doesn’t get anymore wild that a wolf howling in the night sky.
Icebear: Wonderful! His answer is Seawolves - the famous purple sea wolf howling in the mountainside. Man, you're gonna be in for quite the surprise if either of these teams draft you.
I do have to also mention that hopefully the stars align and you end up on the proper ISFL team. Chicago! Chicago Butchers! I know you grew up a bears fan and finally had a moment of relief this year with the NFL draft and getting J.Fields. Can you be the Butchers Fields? I meant your nickname is “The Butcher” this seems destined. And I’ll tell you what Chicago needs a bit of luck after last season. Sim gonna sim.
Sal: Sometimes in life the stars seem to align perfectly. The Butcher to the Butchers one day would be exactly that.
Icebear: Only time will tell. This is a quick comment and not really a question. I CANNOT wait to tackle your ass. Forced Fumble, scoop and score. It's going to be beautiful. You’ll just have to know if you want to get that out of the way in the DSFL or wait until we hit the big leagues.
So how are your photoshop skills? Graphic designs? I’ve hit the field re designs pretty hard for some graphics dollars and I’ve shown you some of our Ultimate Fan experience media. Have any plans for making some media and graphics to get money? Biggest money thing I’ve figured out so far is buying equipment. I’m feeling Sal needs an extra big budget for a jockstrap and knee braces.
Sal: I can’t wait until we play in the same league. I may not be good at math but I know you tackling me and causing me to fumble doesn’t add up.
Yeah I do plan on getting pretty involved with media submissions. I’m newer to graphics but am interested in it. You called it! I’ve already been told by our official league equipment managers that I am going to have to have a jock strap specially ordered and made so my expenses are going to begin adding up quickly. Although a blessing in my personal life, this is nothing but a burden during my athletic career.
Icebear: That's all I have off of the top of my head here. I guess a couple good to know things:
Icebear: It was a nice feeling though my competitiveness always wants more. But now I have a list of teams to prove wrong. Kind of like when the Bears drafted Mitch and could have had Deshaun. You remember that right?
Love my new team. They are great. My big head got me in a Madden Game I had no business being in last night. Now I gotta stay on the down low until that blows past. Luckily tonight he has a new opponent. I can decide if I want it close for a good challenge for them or if I want him to run silly this game too so I don’t feel so bad.
Either way, outside of my Madden beating it has been great. The Honolulu breeze is something we all dream about. Big change climate wise from Minnesota.
Alright Sal It's time to push the baby bird out of the nest and hope it flies. Is this 250 lbs Sal Ami ready to fly? Best of luck this season and hope to follow up with you soon. Maybe we will do a mid season sit down to see how things are going. And lastly, good luck tonight in the prospect bowl, the Nightmarchers I believe? Best of Luck!
Sal: I’m sure the Grey Ducks are happy with your cardio level, and it is the best it has been in your life after all the running you’ve done away from me in Madden over the last two months. Anyway, to all the fans out there- tune in tonight to the prospect bowl and watch me and my fellow Nightmarchers put on a show. Thanks for your time Icebear!

Icebear: That's all I have off of the top of my head here. I guess a couple good to know things:
- Some players on your team will be bots. It took me forever to figure out how we could field a full team. With such few active players.
- Discord life is crazy - different convos with the same people on different topics simultaneously.
- Easiest way to make money is betting that Negs is going to throw an INT
- Important commands in the Locker rooms
- W!balance shows your bank balance
- W!transaction shows your different payments and transactions
- There is a Wolfiebot that fetches this info for us.
- There are different jobs in the league you can apply for - another way to make money
Icebear: It was a nice feeling though my competitiveness always wants more. But now I have a list of teams to prove wrong. Kind of like when the Bears drafted Mitch and could have had Deshaun. You remember that right?
